Apocalypse: What Do You Mean My Mortal Enemies Has Been Reborn?!

This doesn’t have a novelupdates page yet, so I guess I’ll just add my little review here, and hope that I’m proven wrong at some point in time.

This story starts off really strong, and I really like our main character, especially since the early chapters show off her strong personality and unique disposition. You really can start to see the direction of a somewhat cold, selfish, crafty villain willing to trick however many people it takes to survive. They also make her conversational skills rather fun to read. She isn’t afraid to show some kindness when it costs her nothing, and despite her cynical attitude there are times when she actually lets someone mean something to her. It made me genuinely enjoy reading every interaction she had.

And then there’s Lin Mo. Lin Mo is a self-insert Gary Stu added into the story out of the fear of letting the story be something. Lin Mo becomes the protagonist dragging our MC around because “Oh she’s so bad to me in the future”, while then deciding to use her for all his own selfish whims and desires. He’s a hypocrite, and wildly infuriating to read every step of the way. Unfortunately at the time of posting this, he is still alive, and still a Gary Stu.

Considering that every other character, including small fry designed to be killed off, is written so much better than this one guy, I would honestly say that the story would vastly improve should this guy get killed off. Maybe make his death have an impact on our mc that she remembers whenever she would go too far, thus achieving the reason why he even appeared in the story in the first place. That way there’d be meaning to his character whilst putting him out of our misery.

All-in-all the story has plenty of potential, I might check in from time to time to see if the sky fell and killed the eyesore. Till then, here’s hoping.
