Chapter 11: The Brave Win When Narrow Paths Converge

The moment the two Zombies caught sight of human figures, they immediately became frenzied and charged toward Lin Mo.

Lin Mo’s gaze sharpened. 

Instead of retreating, he dashed straight at the two Zombies.

“Is he insane?” 

Zhou Kai stared in horror, unable to comprehend Lin Mo’s actions.

“Don’t waste time we have our own task!” 

Zhang Yu gave Lin Mo a deep look before sprinting toward the fire axe cabinet.

Meanwhile, though Lin Mo was charging head-on, he knew he stood no chance in a direct confrontation. 

At the last possible moment before colliding with the Zombies, he abruptly sidestepped, narrowly avoiding their lunge. 

He then rolled to the ground, swiftly maneuvering behind them. 

By then, Zhang Yu had already seized the opportunity to retrieve the fire axe.

But then Zhang Yu froze. 

He was now a good four or five meters away from Lin Mo-how was he supposed to hand him the axe? 

Lin Mo hadn’t mentioned this earlier; he’d only said he would distract the Zombies while Zhang Yu fetched the axe for him.

“Throw it!” 

Lin Mo said calmly, his expression unreadable.

“What?” 

Zhang Yu was stunned, almost certain he’d misheard. 

Throw it? How was Lin Mo supposed to catch it? 

This was an axe—if mishandled, it could seriously injure him!

“Hurry!” 

The Zombies were closing in on Lin Mo again.

Gritting his teeth, Zhang Yu realized there was no time to hesitate. 

With no other choice, he took aim at Lin Mo, steeled himself, and hurled the axe.

The axe spun through the air, its trajectory terrifying to behold.

Lin Mo’s eyes narrowed. 

Ignoring the Zombies charging toward him, he forced himself to stay calm, focusing solely on the axe. 

In desperate straits, victory favored the bold—if he caught it, he’d survive. 

If not, he was dead. 

There was no retreat left!

Just as one Zombie was about to pounce, Lin Mo’s hand shot out with lightning speed, gripping the axe handle perfectly. 

Without missing a beat, he swung it downward with brutal force, cleaving the charging Zombie’s skull clean in half. 

The creature instantly collapsed, lifeless.

By then, Zhou Kai and Zhang Yu had rushed over. 

Each delivered a powerful kick to the remaining Zombie, sending it sprawling to the ground. 

Lin Mo didn’t pause he lunged forward and buried the axe in the Zombie’s head. 

Blood sprayed in all directions, some splattering onto Lin Mo’s face, making him look especially fearsome.

Two consecutive notifications echoed in his mind.

“Whew…” 

The sound confirmed both Zombies were truly dead. 

Lin Mo exhaled in relief before plopping down onto the ground.

Zhou Kai and Zhang Yu approached, staring at the two Zombie corpses. 

They all felt as if they’d just woken from a dream.

“Two Zombies, just taken down like that? Those were Zombies, man-eating Zombies!” 

Zhou Kai stood dumbfounded, utterly speechless.

Meanwhile, Zhang Yu stared at Lin Mo in astonishment. 

He never expected that Lin Mo, who had always been somewhat reclusive, could be so decisive and fearless.

Little did he know, Lin Mo himself was still shaken by the close call. 

The situation had been extremely perilous—if Zhang Yu hadn’t retrieved the axe in time, if Lin Mo hadn’t caught it, or if he hadn’t dodged the Zombie’s initial lunge, he would have been dead for sure.

“Scared the hell out of me… Never doing this again,” Lin Mo thought, panting heavily.
