“Her body temperature keeps dropping.”
Sylvanas’s voice was particularly low.
“I know what I’m doing.”
Seraphina did not lift her head. Her hands were trembling uncontrollably.
When Yisela woke up, she felt as if she had fallen into a deep ice cave, and even her soul was shivering inside her body.
“Falling.”
“So cold!!”
This word completely out of her control, leaking out from between her lips.
She curled herself into a small ball, those black winding patterns faintly visible beneath her skin. She struggled to lift her head. In her ruby-like eyes, Seraphina’s tense face was reflected.
That face was covered in cold sweat, but Seraphina’s lips were still trying to curve into a comforting smile.
“Sai…!”
“Saint Sister.”
Yisela’s voice carried an uncontrollable sob.
“It’s even colder than before, the holy light can’t suppress it at all.”
Sylvanas standing by the side tried to weave a net with natural power. But those black patterns were like little bugs growing on bones, instantly corroding the vines.
“Damn it, it’s that erosion curse!”
“Just pure energy suppression is useless!”
She rarely gets this flustered.
Seraphina kept flipping through the holy scripture in her hands. Her voice was also trembling.
“This is the body structure of a succubus. It needs very deep affection and direct physical contact to neutralize the curse.”
“Otherwise.”
“Otherwise what will happen?”
“Otherwise she will completely drain her life force due to the immense loneliness and coldness inside her body.”
The air in the room suddenly seemed to freeze.
“Ha.”
“Haha.”
Yisela suddenly laughed while shivering. Her ruby-like eyes were full of tears.
“In the past, I had such strong power, able to destroy heaven and earth. No one dared to approach me. Now I’ve become such a useless thing, having to rely on being loved by others to keep living.”
“Shut up.”
“Don’t talk nonsense.”
Sylvanas picked her up from the bed and forcefully pressed her into her own arms. It was a very warm embrace, with the fragrance of the forest and a hint of body heat. Instantly wrapped her entire self.
“Trash Elf?”
“What do you think you’re doing!”
“Are you trying to molest me!”
“Let me go!”
Yisela struggled a couple of times. But that chill that wanted to drill into her bones did recede a little.
“Don’t move.”
“You little silly dragon.”
Sylvanas’s voice was very hoarse, but her fingers pressed on Yisela’s back, not allowing her to back away even a little.
“If you move again, I’ll really throw you out to feed the monsters.”
Seraphina quickly pressed in from the other side, wrapping her arms around both of them tightly.
“Yisela.”
“I beg you.”
“Don’t push us away, okay.”
“Just for me.”
“You have to live.”
The three of them clung tightly together. Yisela was sandwiched between them. On her left was the warmth of holy light, on her right was the scent of the forest.
She could clearly hear two hearts beating for her.
At that moment, the black patterns wreaking havoc inside her body suddenly stopped. Tears broke through all the strength she had tried to maintain, and she sobbed continuously.
“Wuwuwu.”
“You two are both big idiots.”
“Since I’m so much trouble, why did you bother saving me?”
“I used to love bullying you so much.”
But her tail uncontrollably wrapped around Seraphina’s wrist and Sylvanas’s waist. At this moment, she was no longer the Silver Dragon Princess, nor a Calamity. She was just a little girl who didn’t want to be left behind.
Seraphina gently stroked her silver hair, but her fingertips suddenly paused.
‘Something’s wrong.’
She quietly sent a thread of holy light into Yisela’s body.
That black curse had not been purified at all. It was coiled deep in the meridians, tightly intertwined with the Dragon God’s bloodline, as if it was digesting something. It was full. And quiet.
“What’s wrong?”
“It’s feeding.”
Seraphina’s lips barely moved.
“Our worry for her, the pain in our hearts, and the impulse to hold her tightly. Though they can temporarily neutralize the curse, it seems like they’re all providing nutrients for it.”
Before Seraphina’s words had fully fallen, in the shadowy corner of the room, a pair of scarlet eyes opened in the darkness.
“Who?!”
Sylvanas whirled around to look. Several vines shot toward that corner, piercing through the empty wall.
Seraphina did not move. She only held Yisela tighter. The tenderness in her eyes faded bit by bit, replaced by a coldness never seen before.
“No matter who you are.”
“As long as I’m here.”
“You won’t be able to hurt Yisela from my hands.”
