Su Li didn’t mind spending time on these things. After all, for her, they really didn’t take long.
If she let Cat handle everything, she worried she might end up following Chi Qingya’s old path.
Su Li considered herself fairly diligent, but Cat still had the potential to spoil her into laziness.
Now, Cat was more like a “titanium pooper-scooper,” taking care of her as if she were a little kitten.
Ever since Cat moved in, Su Li noticed that she didn’t even need to worry about feeding the cats anymore.
Everything was handled perfectly by Cat.
Su Li looked at Cat and realized her emotions hadn’t fluctuated much. Otherwise, she might have asked Cat to wear a maid outfit and take care of her.
Su Li didn’t know why she had such a thought.
Maybe it was because she had met many clients before—quite a few of them liked having her wear a maid outfit—so the idea came to her naturally.
Su Li gently patted Cat’s little head. This action always helped calm Cat down and stopped her from overthinking.
It was a small secret Su Li had discovered about her.
Whenever Cat was patted on the head, no matter what she was doing, she would immediately quiet down.
Feeling Su Li’s warm hand resting on her head, Cat slowly closed her eyes.
As she felt Su Li’s fingers gently stroking her hair, she unconsciously let out a soft, content sound.
Even Cat herself didn’t notice it.
Hearing Cat’s kitten-like sound, Su Li didn’t point it out. After a while, she let go of Cat’s head and walked over to the prepared fruit.
“When making fruit, you usually need to peel it first, but Cat already cut everything, so we don’t need to do that.”
After checking Cat’s progress on the fruit medley, she went to the refrigerator and took out some yogurt.
There were plenty of drinks stored inside. Before they reached their expiration date, Su Li would process them simply.
After all, to her, whether it was alcohol or beverages, there wasn’t much difference compared to drinking water.
It was all the same to her.
Besides, with her physique, she wouldn’t get sick, and even if she did, she would recover quickly.
“Pour the yogurt like it’s raining.”
Su Li tried to explain in a way Cat could understand. She tilted the yogurt bottle, letting the milky liquid flow like a waterfall over the small mound of fruit.
When blueberries rolled into the gaps between mango pieces, she gently nudged them with a spoon. “This way, it looks nicer.”
Cat stared at her sprinkling oats into the bowl, then suddenly reached out to catch an almond that bounced away. “Is this like tucking a blanket over little saplings?”
She imitated Su Li, scattering crushed nuts like tiny stars, completely unaware that a bit of yogurt had gotten on the tip of her nose.
When the final two mint leaves landed on the edge of the bowl, Su Li turned the glass bowl toward the window.
Moonlight passed through the red dragon fruit, casting a faint pink glow over the yogurt.
Cat’s eyes lit up as she quietly reached out to touch a gently swaying berry.
Sometimes, Su Li felt that talking to Cat was like talking to a child.
But at other times, Cat seemed very mature. Perhaps it was her innocence that made her consider things from others’ perspectives, which gave her that maturity.
Cat carefully memorized the process of making the fruit medley. It wasn’t difficult—it felt like playing a game.
She tried to recall and vaguely remembered that her owner had made this for her before. But the chopping board had been too high, so she couldn’t see clearly.
Or maybe she had been busy with something else at the time and simply hadn’t noticed.
Making fruit medley together with Su Li was a very happy experience.
“Let’s eat together.”
Su Li took out two forks and two spoons, placing them into the bowl.
Cat froze for a moment, then quickly shook her head.
“No, this is for you, Su Li.”
She spoke firmly. She had wanted to thank Su Li.
But in the end, they had made it together.
And now they were going to eat it together.
If that were the case, how could it count as repaying Su Li?
“I… I won’t eat.”
“Together. I can’t finish it alone.”
Su Li patted her head again, and in the end, Cat obediently followed behind her.
Su Li noticed that Cat would watch what fruits she liked and deliberately avoid eating them, leaving them for her.
Cat also preferred eating cheaper fruits.
After all, she had bought them herself, so she knew their prices clearly.
“Open your mouth.”
Su Li said softly, holding a piece of lychee near Cat’s lips. The translucent fruit carried a cool, sweet fragrance.
Hearing her, Cat brushed her pink hair aside and obediently opened her mouth, biting into the lychee.
Juice dripped down her chin, and Su Li casually wiped it away with her finger.
The mango pieces were cut into small cubes, piled into a golden mound. Su Li poured a spoonful of yogurt over them.
The thick, milky liquid coated the fruit as she scooped up a spoonful and offered it. “Try this. Is the mango sweet?”
Seeing it brought close, Cat obediently opened her mouth again.
“Wait…”
Her face flushed slightly as she said shyly,
“Strawberry…”
Su Li smiled and used a skewer to pick up a strawberry, placing it into Cat’s mouth.
“Apple.”
Then she picked up another piece of apple and fed it to her.
“More.”
Seeing Cat standing there obediently, Su Li fed her another piece.
Cat looked at her with watery eyes but didn’t dare resist.
For Su Li, it didn’t really matter what fruit she ate.
But it was different for Cat.
Cat had strong emotions—eating something delicious made her very happy.
Seeing Cat’s happiness, Su Li felt that her own emotions… might improve a little too.
At least, if she hadn’t lost her emotions, seeing Cat happy would definitely make her happy.
Even just seeing Cat would make her happy.
“Su Li, Su Li, I… I can eat by myself.”
Cat felt a little embarrassed being fed like this, though it was a very happy feeling.
She understood what Su Li was doing.
Her little plan had been seen through.
Su Li was just too smart.
