Before even reaching the Guest Room, Lilith, already familiar with the place, headed straight upstairs toward Yalbera’s Bedroom.
“Wait! Lady Lilith! You can’t enter the room without the master’s permission!”
Bai hurried forward to block her way.
If Yalbera got angry because someone barged into her room, Bai would be the one punished.
“Ah, relax, relax. I’m an old acquaintance of that one. She’s definitely still inside; she hasn’t run off.”
Lilith laughed carelessly, not pausing her steps for even a moment.
Bai’s attempt to stop Lilith was like an ant trying to move a tree—useless. Lilith didn’t slow down at all; instead, Bai exhausted herself trying.
“Hey, that’s all you’ve got? No wonder your body’s so weak. The last one could run a lap around the Manor without even getting winded, you know.”
Bent over and out of breath, Bai couldn’t understand it.
She could clean the entire Manor by herself and still have energy left.
Why was she so tired just from blocking Lilith for a bit?!
And what was with this sudden pain in her arms and legs?!
“Bai isn’t her. Bai’s body has always been weak.”
Lilith narrowed her eyes, then simply reached out and scooped up Bai, who was desperately trying to block her way.
“Eh? Lady Lilith, what are you doing? Put Bai down, quickly.”
Bai froze for a moment, her voice anxious.
She kicked her slender legs, trying to break free, but Lilith’s arms were like iron clamps, holding her tightly, not budging an inch.
Lilith’s hand began to wander restlessly, rubbing from Bai’s arms to her legs, touching every part as she muttered to herself.
“Hmm, interesting.”
“Per…pervert?!”
Bai screamed in her heart, struggling desperately but to no avail.
“With your little strength, it’ll take you a few thousand more years before you can move me. Save your energy and come up with me, hahaha.”
Lilith laughed openly, tucking Bai under her arm like a child.
No matter how Bai wriggled, she wouldn’t let go.
“Heh, you know, I used to carry the last Blood Servant just like this.”
Lilith suddenly turned her head and grinned.
“Let Bai go! You really can’t go into the master’s room! If the master finds out, Bai will be punished!”
“It’s fine. I’ll just explain to Yalbera. Well, not that it’ll help much.”
“……”
They finally arrived at the door to Yalbera’s Bedroom.
Only then did Lilith let Bai down.
Bai dusted off her clothes, carefully straightened the wrinkles, and shot Lilith an annoyed glare. Lilith, utterly unapologetic, simply smiled back.
Seriously, does the master really know this shameless Vampire?
Bai found it impossible to believe, but since they were already here, there was nothing she could do.
She gently knocked on the door, asking again, “Master, there’s a guest. Are you inside?”
Unsurprisingly, there was no reply from within.
Bai turned her head, giving Lilith a “See?” kind of look.
The next moment, Lilith suddenly pushed Bai aside, knocked hard on the door, and shouted loudly.
“Hey! Black-faced woman! Are you in there?!”
Bai was completely stunned. Black-faced woman?
That’s the master!
Are you really that bold?!
She quickly pulled Lilith back, her voice hurried and low.
“What are you doing?! If the master is inside, she’ll definitely be angry! She really hates being disturbed!”
But Lilith just ruffled Bai’s gray hair and continued shouting at the door, “You can fool this little one, but I’ve already smelled it—the thick scent of arrogance on you. I know you’re in there! If you don’t open up, I’m breaking the door down!”
“Three! Two!…”
Lilith counted down as she rolled up her sleeves, looking ready to start a fight.
Bai couldn’t stop her and was so scared she turned away, not daring to watch.
“One!”
With a fist like a hurricane, Bai could even hear the air crackling.
But just as the punch was about to land, the wooden door slowly opened by itself, and Lilith’s fist stopped right in place.
“That’s better. Should’ve opened up earlier.”
The most terrifying thing had happened—the master was really inside!
Bai could imagine, even with her toes, how furious Yalbera must be right now! It’s over!
Behind the door, Yalbera sat by the window as always, legs crossed, head resting on her hand, staring at Lilith with a gloomy face.
Lilith, however, seemed completely unafraid, wearing a calm smile.
She raised her hand and greeted with a smile.
“Yo, black-faced woman, long time no see.”
Yalbera’s face was so dark it could drip water.
Her icy voice carried a hint of anger.
“I never gave you permission to enter my Domain, Selena. You should know that all trespassers are treated as enemies.”
“Heh, don’t be so distant. We’ve known each other for thousands of years—if not confidants, at least friends, right?”
Lilith said with a laugh.
“Friends? I don’t have such a thing. Now, get out.”
Yalbera warned her, but Lilith acted like nothing was wrong, finding a seat for herself and then looking toward the door.
Bai, still facing the wall, too afraid to turn her head.
She called out, “Why are you standing there? Come in. I’m the one who’s inside.”
Come in, my foot!!!
Bai was already doing her best just not to run away.
How could Lilith just sit there so casually?!
Bai’s mind was in chaos, staring at the wall, not daring to look at Yalbera’s expression.
“Bai.”
“Bai—Bai is here!”
Just then, Yalbera’s voice suddenly sounded, cold as ever.
“Go back to your room.”
“Eh?”
Before Bai could even react, the door slammed shut by itself…
“Don’t be like that. I still wanted to play with the little one for a while.”
Lilith looked a bit disappointed.
“Trespassing in my Domain, and even planning to barge into my Bedroom—Selena, all these years and you still haven’t changed. Still as impatient as ever.”
Yalbera laughed coldly, though her eyes showed no mirth.
“Well, I was only passing by the entrance to your Domain. I never thought I’d actually get inside. But after I saw your new Blood Servant, I changed my mind.”
Lilith leaned forward, her smiling eyes narrowing to slits as she spoke slowly.
“Black-faced woman, after all this time, you’re still thinking of Lian…”
“Boom!”
A terrifying Black Flame shot past Lilith’s face, slamming into the wall and leaving a blackened crater.
Lilith remained unfazed, still looking playful.
Yalbera’s eyes blazed with fury, her pupils glowing menacingly in the darkness.
“You’re not worthy to speak her name. I’ve never forgotten what you did to Lian all those centuries ago. If it weren’t for her dying plea, I would’ve killed you long ago. And you, Selena, you still dare mention her in front of me!”
Lilith brushed the dust from her clothes, teasing, “You’re not much better yourself. I saw it, you know—those memories of that child. They seem incomplete, don’t they? Even her body, her limbs have all been broken at least once. Even if you see her as Lian, you can’t treat her so harshly.”
“She is my Blood Servant. Her life and body belong to me. What I do with them is my choice.”
“That won’t do. After finally finding a child so much like Lian, I don’t want to lose her again. How about this—I’ll share a bit of my Essence Blood with you, and you give that child to me.”
“Shing!”
As soon as she finished, a Blood Blade shot toward Lilith’s forehead.
Lilith simply reached out with two fingers, pinching the blade in place, stopping it cold.
“That was close, that was close.”
This time, it really was aimed at her life.
