Before, when Lu Qiuchen logged out of the game, she was too excited and forgot to set the spatial coordinates.
This time, she remembered to do so.
Not only that, she used the boss toolbox to conceal her form and teleported into a mining tunnel excavated by humans, observing the knights who were mining.
Found them! Lu Qiuchen spotted a familiar face—one of the knights from that same team just moments ago!
Then she found a few more familiar faces.
She successfully confirmed that the actions of the NPCs in the game’s open world synchronized with people in the real world!
Lu Qiuchen returned to the spatial coordinates she had set earlier and checked her current location on the game map.
After memorizing the string of data, she logged out of the game.
Back in the real world, Lu Qiuchen compared her current coordinates with those in the game, calculating the distance between the two.
She then layered on multiple spatial magic shields before proceeding with the spatial teleportation.
As the earth was compressed to the side by the spatial magic, Lu Qiuchen’s body was perfectly buried underground.
“If it weren’t for the magic shield, I’d have to physically push through the soil and rocks with my body just now!” Lu Qiuchen saw herself descending into a patch of soil and breathed a sigh of relief.
The current situation only confirmed that the game and reality had some kind of connection.
But if she landed in a familiar mining cave, it meant the game could influence reality in return.
That meant she had to reconsider the relationship between the game and reality.
Using spatial magic, she compressed the surrounding soil and pushed it aside, digging toward the location of the refined gold ore in the game.
She dug out a small piece of ore that looked like a chunk of mithril.
Putting it into her mouth, she found the ore no longer had that sweet fragrance.
Spitting out the residue, she didn’t find any silver-white metal inside, only tiny specks of metal fragments.
Lu Qiuchen pondered over this.
She had long suspected this.
When she realized the game could enhance mental strength, that the game and reality interacted, and recalled what the succubus had said about the Spirit Realm, she began to suspect the game was built on some sort of collective mental strength network.
So it was perfectly reasonable that the mithril in the same spot in the game had turned into ordinary metal.
After all, the mithril was still resting in her Talent Space.
If she could acquire another piece of mithril in the real world, wouldn’t that be a game-breaking bug?
What puzzled her was this: if the so-called Spirit Realm was the collective mental strength network of the Eternal World, then why did the dragons that appeared during the closed beta disappear during the public beta?
Had the dragons all lost connection? Or did the game company have technology to selectively enable it?
Or was the Spirit Realm just the control layer of this network?
As for why the game company could replicate a world identical to reality, Lu Qiuchen no longer bothered to think about it.
After all, magic and interdimensional travel already existed—what scientific explanation was there to be had?
Since digging up more ore no longer improved her mental strength, Lu Qiuchen let loose and surged forward aggressively.
At this moment, she fervently wished she had an affinity for Earth Magic, as using spatial magic to compress ore was too mentally exhausting.
Freed from the concern of mining mithril, Lu Qiuchen’s advance speed multiplied several times.
In less than an hour, she had already reached the range of the refined gold vein.
As the game interface in her vision began to fade, Lu Qiuchen hadn’t even gotten excited yet when a massive mental wave mixed with dizziness suddenly washed over her.
She hurriedly stepped back but felt that the mental wave carried a kind of familiarity and goodwill toward her.
Upon recognizing that this mental wave was very similar to the Dragon Clan’s legacy, Lu Qiuchen hesitated but stopped retreating, allowing the wave to envelop her.
“So, you’re a little one from the Silver Dragon Clan. Did Odyn send you here?” A gentle voice echoed in Lu Qiuchen’s mind.
After being teased by the succubus, Lu Qiuchen was now quite sensitive to the term “little one,” but the fact that the voice called out Odyn’s name directly intrigued her far more than the term itself.
“Who are you? I came here on my own,” Lu Qiuchen replied.
Voices from the Dragon King, the Demonic Race, and Beta had all invaded her mind before.
She was no longer surprised that powerful figures could communicate telepathically this way.
“Without Odyn’s blessing, there’s no way you could come here on your own… Oh? Interesting. Your soul’s strength far surpasses that of other dragons, and you’ve come into contact with the Sky Shard. You indeed qualify to enter here.
It seems you were the one who touched this place through the Spirit Realm earlier.”
There was a lot of information in these words.
Lu Qiuchen thought over the “Sky Shard” and “Spirit Realm,” and how these related to Odyn, as mentioned just before.
After a pause, the voice continued, “You carry no blessing, so you weren’t sent by Odyn… Since that’s the case, if you want answers, then follow me.”
“What answers…? Where are you taking me?” Lu Qiuchen asked in confusion.
Sensing her doubt, the voice spoke again in her mind, “Since you are not Odyn’s pawn, you need to know this matter.”
“I am Count of the Gold Dragons, the lord of the Dragon Clan!” The voice carried a hint of pride.
Lu Qiuchen looked puzzled. “Gold Dragon? I don’t think there’s such a branch in the Dragon Clan?”
“If you want to know why, then come and see!” The emotion in the voice tinged with anger.
Before she could react, her consciousness was pulled into a white space.
After the white light faded, a scene unfolded before Lu Qiuchen’s eyes.
First, she saw the towering Dragon Vein Peak piercing the clouds.
Then golden wings flapping on either side appeared—she recognized this as a first-person perspective.
“Yes! This is the scene from my memories. Keep watching, and you will understand everything.”
After flying for some time, the massive dragon in the vision tilted and dove downward.
At the foot of the mountain and behind the dragon appeared dragons of various colors.
Several pure white figures flew across the view, and surprise bloomed in Lu Qiuchen’s mind.
“Pure white dragons! Their wings are even larger than the others. Is this the White Dragon you mentioned?” Lu Qiuchen asked the voice.
Seeing this scene and the golden body she had seen earlier, she was already inclined to believe the consciousness that called itself the Count of the Gold Dragons.
“Yes, the Dragon Clan was once very powerful, but…”
The voice trailed off.
Lu Qiuchen knew some catastrophe must have occurred later, but since the voice refused to continue, she refocused on the scene.
The viewpoint slowly descended.
The dragon she inhabited landed atop a mountain peak.
Soon, the gentle slope below was filled with dragons, densely packed, descending from the sky.
A rough count revealed two to three hundred dragons, all fully grown.
This meant that the Dragon Clan back then was several times stronger than it was now.
Among them, aside from the five kinds of dragons Lu Qiuchen was familiar with, the unfamiliar gold and white dragons also made up a significant portion.
She distinctly felt that the gold and silver dragons were fewer in number compared to the other five colors.
Once all the dragons landed, the body Lu Qiuchen inhabited spoke aloud, “I have gathered you all today for a meeting because those bird people have made a new move!”
Lu Qiuchen could feel herself speaking, but the voice that came out was completely different from her own.
This sensation was novel.
“Those bird people want to interfere with the Eternal World. This is absolutely unacceptable! But if we engage in battle with those bird people, we will pay a great price. This could destabilize our rule…”
……
“… Therefore, I have decided to cooperate with the Demonic Race and let them fight the bird people! This way, we can maintain our strength and have a chance to rule the other two worlds!”
Lu Qiuchen’s heart jumped in shock.
Cooperate with the Demonic Race? How was that possible?
Immediately, a voice of dissent rang out.
“Count, you are too arrogant! Cooperating with the Demonic Race will only bring about the destruction of the Dragon Clan!”
A dragon flew up from behind and shouted with authority, the first to oppose.
Hearing a dragon boldly oppose his brilliant plan and even daring to call out his name, Lu Qiuchen could feel anger stirring within this body.
The viewpoint turned to the black dragon soaring in the sky, radiating fury.
“Oh? Odyn! Don’t think you can act recklessly here just because you’re a genius!”
A terrifying pressure radiated, and the young black dragon immediately fell from the sky.
“Is there any dragon who has other opinions? Speak up.”
The Count of the Gold Dragons, the body Lu Qiuchen inhabited, said with a hint of anger.
Lu Qiuchen clearly saw unrest among the dragons.
Several dragons at the front seemed ready to act, but after looking around, none stood forward.
Seeing no objections from the dragons below, the Gold Dragon Count nodded in satisfaction.
“It seems everyone agrees. Then the plan will be carried out as stated!”
Lu Qiuchen was speechless.
So the Dragon Clan meeting was just his one-man show?
“At that time, I was indeed too arrogant, thinking that possessing the strongest power could suppress those bird people and the Demonic Race… Keep watching, and you will understand,” the voice said with some regret.
Lu Qiuchen no longer dwelled on it and continued watching.
After Count Kaunte of the Dragon Clan signed a contract with the Demon King, he set up a massive teleportation array beneath the North Continent.
Lu Qiuchen saw the familiar Demon Realm Gate in the scene and suddenly realized.
Was this the beginning of the Demonic Race’s invasion tens of thousands of years ago?
The subsequent events confirmed this guess and revealed the whole story of that ancient war.
Ten thousand years ago, the Eternal World was ruled by the Dragon Clan.
The Gods, for unknown reasons, planned to invade the Eternal World.
To preserve their strength, the Dragon Clan leader Kaunte introduced the Demonic Race—who were mortal enemies of the Gods—into the battlefield.
But Kaunte did not anticipate that the Demonic Race also coveted the Eternal World, willing to sacrifice a leader to tear up the contract.
When the contract was broken, a Demonic Race leader sacrificed himself to absorb the contract’s backlash for the Demon King.
From that moment on, peace in the Eternal World was forever lost.
People always fail to realize that you shouldn’t ever make a deal with a devil. It will, at most, not harm you… and that’s if they’re feeling benevolent that day.
