Divine sense flickered in a daze. When Yan Hua opened her eyes again, the scene before her had already changed.
All around were snow-white walls, with a faint scent of disinfectant drifting in the air.
This was a Bing Fang.
In the center of the room, before a dressing table that was completely out of place with the surroundings, sat a familiar figure.
It was Master Bai Yue.
But not the Master she was familiar with.
Bai Yue was intently facing the mirror, using a black pen to draw two exaggerated panda eyes.
Then she took a vivid red blush and painted two bold, highland-red patches on her cheeks.
As Yan Hua appeared, the figure in the mirror paused.
A brilliantly colored, visually striking face suddenly turned around.
For an ordinary person, seeing this visage might be enough to scare the soul right out of them on the spot.
However, Yan Hua was never an ordinary person.
She gazed at Master’s shocking masterpiece, and instead of fear, her crimson eyes lit up instantly, shimmering with pure admiration and praise.
“Yan Hua, you came to see me. Wonderful.”
Bai Yue grinned, her smile becoming even more unsettling.
“Mm.”
Yan Hua nodded emphatically, sincerely praising, “Master looks so beautiful like this, even more than usual, like a fairy in a painting.”
Her sense of aesthetics had always been uniquely devout. She simply loved her extraordinary Master.
“Hehe, Yan Hua, your little mouth is like it’s smeared with honey. Come, let Master taste if it’s sweet~”
Overjoyed, Bai Yue paid no heed to the paint on her face.
She leaned over and gave Yan Hua’s little face a loud “smooch”.
Receiving the reward, Yan Hua was even happier, her mouth unable to contain her smile.
She tugged at Bai Yue’s sleeve, looking up with sparkling anticipation.
“Master, Master, can you give Yan Hua the same makeup as yours?”
“Of course.”
Bai Yue agreed heartily and scooped Yan Hua up onto her lap.
She grabbed the makeup tools and began to work her magic on Yan Hua’s small face.
Soon, the Bing Fang had another equally vibrant clown face.
With the masterpiece complete, Bai Yue, thoroughly satisfied, clasped Yan Hua’s hand, admired their reflections together in the mirror, and declared,
“Yan Hua, let’s go~ Master will take you to show off and eat delicacies~”
With that, she pushed open the Bing Fang door and strode out boldly.
In the corridor outside, the faceless Head Nurse was still rigidly instructing a newly arrived, equally faceless Little Nurse.
When the two “clowns” emerged, their heads swiveled in perfect unison.
The Little Nurse, startled, took a step back and hid behind the Head Nurse.
“Master, who are they?”
Yan Hua asked curiously, unfazed by the eerie scene.
“They’re nurse sisters, good people.”
Bai Yue explained.
“As long as they don’t restrict me, they’re very good people.”
“Why do they restrict Master?”
“Because they think I’m ill.”
Bai Yue tapped her own head, then countered,
“Do I look ill to you?”
“Of course Master isn’t ill. Master is perfectly healthy.”
Yan Hua said earnestly.
“Then it must be a misunderstanding. Should I go explain to them?”
“Sure, sure, Yan Hua, give it a try.”
Bai Yue immediately became interested.
She thought Yan Hua was so clever and tasteful—maybe she really could persuade these stubborn nurses.
Thus, the big and small pair walked hand in hand, boldly up to the Head Nurse.
“Head Nurse, this is my disciple, Yan Hua.”
Bai Yue introduced first.
The Head Nurse looked at the same disastrous makeup on Yan Hua’s face and a sense of foreboding surged.
She felt that this child was not simple.
But out of professional duty, she still greeted in a flat, emotionless tone,
“Yan Hua, hello.”
“Hello, Head Nurse.”
Yan Hua looked up with a bright smile.
“Head Nurse, you’re mistaken. My Master is very healthy. She isn’t ill. You shouldn’t restrict her.”
The Head Nurse fell silent.
If possible, she wanted to admit this little girl as well and make her wear the blue-and-white striped patient gown immediately.
Of course, she wouldn’t say that.
“Mm, I understand your feelings. It’s indeed a misunderstanding.”
The Head Nurse answered calmly, without a single flaw in her words.
“We know Bai Yue is healthy, but to be safe, observation is still necessary.”
“Besides, hospitalization is free—meals and lodging are all covered by health insurance. Just think of it as your Master having a free vacation for a few days.”
“Free food and lodging?”
Yan Hua latched onto the key point, her eyes lighting up.
“Yes.”
The Head Nurse nodded.
“That sounds nice.”
Yan Hua broke into a broad smile.
“I want to stay here with Master too. I wonder if that’s allowed.”
“If you wish, of course, you can stay as long as you want. Meals and lodging are all included.”
The Head Nurse replied, her nerves finally relaxing.
It seemed that although this family member was odd, she was easy to coax.
Bai Yue, standing by, was dumbfounded.
So…she was swayed just like that?
She hurriedly pulled Yan Hua aside, lowered her voice, and whispered in her ear with earnest persuasion.
“Yan Hua, are you silly? How can you live in a hospital forever?”
“Why not?”
Yan Hua was puzzled.
“Because the hospital isn’t freedom.”
Bai Yue spoke with a solemn air of life’s truth.
“Freedom is priceless.”
“Freedom…”
Yan Hua nodded thoughtfully.
“That makes sense. Then I’ll go discuss it with the Head Nurse again.”
Although she wanted to freeload with Master forever, Yan Hua always cared most about Master’s opinion.
Whatever Master said, she agreed.
“Forget it, forget it. You can’t reason with the Head Nurse.”
Bai Yue’s eyes shifted as she immediately changed strategies, lowering her voice and plotting with seductive intent.
“Let’s sneak out today and eat delicacies.”
The Head Nurse watched as the big and small figures huddled together, especially noting how Bai Yue involuntarily swallowed, and instantly saw through everything.
She said nothing, simply standing like a silent statue.
“Head Nurse, I’m just going for a stroll in the hospital.”
Bai Yue forced a smile, which looked even scarier paired with her makeup.
The Little Nurse, peeking out, saw the menacing smile of the hospital’s infamous demon and quickly hid again behind the Head Nurse.
Too scary, she couldn’t bear to look.
It’s over. She’ll have nightmares tonight.
“Alright, more exercise is good for health and helps with discharge.”
The Head Nurse replied calmly, unfazed.
Seeing the Head Nurse agree, Bai Yue grabbed Yan Hua’s hand and led her away, heading toward the corridor corner.
Bai Yue and Yan Hua hunched over, starting their “secret escape from the hospital” operation.
The Head Nurse walked into the hospital’s monitoring room, watching the two clownish figures sneak along on tiptoes, vanishing like thieves at the corridor’s end.
“My God, divine master and disciple, I hope the sisters outside will be okay if they encounter those two.”
The Head Nurse sighed, rubbing her forehead helplessly.
