Daughter?

Wu Yi tried hard to calm her rapid, nervous breathing.

Oh. That’s my daughter.

My daughter, born of both the Lord of R’lyeh and the Ancient Fox Deity, is renowned for their supreme psychic talents. 

In other words, she’s innately gifted in one thing: the power to seduce and corrupt minds.

“……”

What the hell?! 

How could I possibly have a daughter that causes SAN loss just by existing?!

Not to mention the fact that I’m not even married— so having a daughter is out of the question. 

And even if I were married… no way in hell would it be to Cthulhu!

“No need to worry~ I’m not some big scary octopus~”

The woman pulled Wu Yi into her arms. 

Her skin felt soft and delicate, just like a human’s. 

The moment their bodies touched, it sent tremors through Wu Yi’s nerves.

She must be unimaginably beautiful.

But that made sense. 

Anything remotely connected to a fox deity was bound to be a natural-born femme fatale.

“Let go of me, whoever you are…” 

Wu Yi muttered in a breathy, powerless tone.

But her command had no weight at all.

The woman’s moist, fragrant tentacle was still nudging toward the corner of Wu Yi’s mouth.

“Forgive my intrusion,” the woman’s voice was firm, undeniable. 

“I know you must be misunderstanding, but I ask you to endure it. Please, lower your guard and let your body and soul be temporarily governed by us…”

“No way!”

“Then I guess… we’ll just have to do this the hard way.”

“?! What are you—wait, you—mmph!”

Her body felt heavy—probably because the woman had pushed her down.

No, don’t— mmph!”

In the final moments of consciousness, Wu Yi felt a slender hand grasp her cheeks.

Her lips parted.

Sweet, nectar-like juice was poured into her mouth— its taste as sugary and intoxicating as honey.

“Stop—!”

Wu Yi woke with a gasp, her head splitting with pain.

It was still pitch-black. 

She couldn’t see anything.

“I haven’t exited prophet mode… and my head hurts this bad… which means, just now. Was that a precognitive dream?”

The Prophet State wasn’t just a trade of raw power for heightened perception and thought.

Every time she entered this state, she’d experience a hyper-realistic precognitive dream—

A dream in which she wouldn’t know she was dreaming.

She would simply live it, helplessly, as the protagonist.

“And worst of all…”

The future seen in those dreams is guaranteed to happen.

It’s unchangeable.

Wu Yi sat up in a daze.

Never mind the dream for now… What’s the situation?

Where am I?

“You’re awake.”

“Mm?”

It was a girl’s voice, not the “Lord of R’lyeh” from earlier, but a normal girl this time.

“You saved me? Where is this?”

In the dream, her mind had been clouded, unable to think clearly. 

But now, awake, her mind was sharply enhanced by the Prophet State.

“Wasn’t me who saved you, it was the Lord of the City.”

The City Lord?

That bastard who nearly got Wu Ma killed?

The girl said enviously.

“If I looked like you… then maybe the City Lord would…”

Wu Yi had never seen her own appearance in the Prophet State. 

But those who had all seemed awestruck. 

It was probably on par with her Seducer form.

“Being pretty doesn’t help if I can’t see.”

Wu Yi casually untied the ribbon at her neck and slowly wrapped it over her eyes.

She didn’t pay much attention to her posture, but as she raised her arms to tie the band, the youthful curve of her body stood out graceful and alluring in an unintentional way.

The narrow black ribbon veiled her eyes and tied into her hair, revealing the clear, pale line of her jaw.

Her nose subtly lifted the black cloth. 

The contrast of skin and fabric black and white was sharp and divine, like an angel bound by a demon, smiling with purity in the devil’s embrace.

“I’m done,” Wu Yi said.

“?”

“Oh, nothing.” 

The girl scratched her head awkwardly. 

“Um… the City Lord is currently entertaining guests. He said, ‘If I’m still alive tonight, I’ll come see you.’”

Waiting for a guest?

What kind of guest would dare attempt to assassinate the City Lord?

And what kind of guest even if the City Lord knew they came to kill him, would still have to be received?

Wu Yi focused her attention on her ears.

Her hearing in the Prophet State was exceptional— so sharp, in fact, that she could hear the sounds throughout the entire City Lord’s estate… even beyond its walls.

Amid the chaotic layers of noise, she caught the gallop of approaching hooves—rapid, urgent, charging toward the estate.

The rider wore leather armor, creaking softly as it rubbed with his movements. 

From time to time, the tip of his long, iron-shafted weapon scraped the ground, ringing faintly.

That sound… It was Wu Ma.

He’s the guest the City Lord is waiting for?!

Wu Ma’s in danger!

Wu Yi didn’t even care about the pain in her injured feet. 

She rolled off the bed and fumbled her way toward the door.

“Thunk—!”

Her forehead slammed into a wooden pillar inside the room.

She tumbled to the floor, stars exploding in her vision.

“I told you, if you can’t see, stop running so fast!” 

The maid said, exasperated but amused.

Before the maid could help her up, Wu Yi had already scrambled to her feet again, staggering forward.

“Thunk—!”

This time it was the doorframe.

“Ahh—ow, ow, ow—”

It had been too long since she last entered Prophet State. 

Her ability to navigate by sound had gotten rusty.

The maid watched helplessly, torn between sympathy and the irresistible cuteness of the scene— her lips twitching with a smile.

Then she felt Wu Yi lean against her arm.

“Where are you going? I’ll take you.” 

The maid said gently in her ear.

“To the City Lord’s receiving room.”

“No can do~ The City Lord is expecting very important guests right now.”

“He’s in danger!”

“Impossible. I just peeked earlier—he’s got his elite guards stationed around the receiving room. They’re super strong…”

The maid was absolutely confident. 

“Don’t worry. If anyone tries to harm the City Lord, they’re as good as dead!”

Meanwhile…

Wu Ma kicked open the main gates of the City Lord’s estate with murderous force.

“City Lord— no, Lu Sheng! Get the hell out here!”

His eyes were bloodshot.

His presence alone seemed capable of razing the entire estate to the ground.
