“Sister. Sister.”
It felt like someone was murmuring right beside her ear, and after a long slumber, Aurora finally opened her eyes slowly.
Her vision was still a little blurry, but with that familiar scent and the red figure before her eyes, she could guess who it was—her little sister.
She stretched lazily and slowly sat up from the bed.
“Good morning, little sister…”
After rubbing her eyes, Aurora was about to get out of bed.
“Hmm?”
She sniffed the air and caught the fragrant aroma of food.
“Is breakfast especially lavish today?”
She turned back with a smile, and when her gaze landed on Lola Bell, she froze in place.
Her little sister seemed to have grown a lot taller, her delicate and pretty face still youthful but tinged with a bit of childishness.
Had her twelve-year-old sister grown up overnight??
Uncertain, Aurora moved closer and reached out to touch her soft cheek.
Her skin was as white as milk, pinching it felt like kneading dough, or maybe like a bouncy slime.
“Sister…”
As if sensing her confusion, Lola Bell placed her own hand over Aurora’s, pressing her palm to her cheek, as if to let her feel it even more clearly.
“How did you… get so tall?!”
After puzzling over it for a long time, Aurora finally spoke. She even thought she was seeing things, rubbing her eyes over and over, trying to deny what she saw.
“Doesn’t sister like me like this?”
Lola Bell moved closer to her, then buried her face in Aurora’s embrace.
“Of course I like it, it’s just… how long did I sleep?”
She remembered that before she fell asleep, she had stayed up for three days straight making clothes, intending to take a short nap, but who would have thought that after waking up, her twelve-year-old sister would have suddenly turned into what looked like an eighteen-year-old young lady.
Could she have accidentally slept for several years?!
“Sister, you slept for a long, long time.
“So long that now, there’s only the two of us left in this world.”
“Sister, from now on, this world belongs only to you and me.”
Lola Bell leaned in her arms and spoke softly, her hands restlessly hugging Aurora’s waist.
“Only the two of us… what about Mom and Dad?”
“Mom and Dad… they abandoned us a long time ago.”
“Our life doesn’t need anyone else, not Mom and Dad, and certainly not any little brother.”
“The two of us can live together, even happier than before.”
Aurora’s mind was completely blank; everything Lola Bell had just said was too much to process all at once.
What did she mean, only the two of them were left in this world? Did something happen while she slept? And the idea that she had slept for six years was already unbelievable.
“Come on, Sister, let’s eat. The food will get cold.”
Saying this, Lola Bell took Aurora’s dazed hand and led her to the living room.
The table was laid out with a sumptuous spread, many dishes she was familiar with, but she’d never seen such a lavish breakfast before.
Her mind was still a mess, and by the time she came to her senses, she was already sitting in a chair.
Lola Bell scooped up a spoonful of porridge and brought it to Aurora’s lips.
“Sister, open up, ah~”
“Ah~ mm.”
The rice porridge melted in her mouth, filling it with a rich aroma—she had never tasted anything so delicious.
“Is it good, Sister?”
“It’s… delicious.”
“That’s good.”
Lola Bell gave her a happy smile, and this familiar yet somehow unfamiliar smile made Aurora pause for a moment.
“No, that’s not right, wait!”
She suddenly sprang up from her chair and rushed toward the door.
What she saw outside left Aurora completely stunned.
Beyond the door was a vast wilderness, everywhere she looked was green grass and Silvergrad Flowers, not a single tree on the endless plain, not even the sound of insects.
This world looked as if it had just been born, without a single sign of life.
“This is…”
Suddenly, she was hugged from behind, a warm cheek pressed against her back, and slender hands appeared in front of her abdomen.
A gentle voice came from behind, tinged with nostalgia and a touch of joy.
“Doesn’t Sister like this world?”
“Sister once said she liked quiet places, places with flowers, places where she could watch the sunrise, and places where I would be.”
“Isn’t this everything Sister ever wanted?”
“I’m so happy, to be able to live with Sister in this world.”
Looking at all this, Aurora didn’t know what to say.
This was indeed very much like what she had once described.
She wanted peace and quiet, so this world didn’t even have the chirping of birds or insects.
She wanted flowers, so the whole world was filled with her favorite Silvergrad Flowers.
She wanted to see the sunrise, so there wasn’t a single tree in the way.
But this world felt too fake, like someone had made it just for her.
“Little sister…”
Aurora broke free from the arms wrapped around her and turned to face her, eye to eye.
“What is all this about? You must know, right?”
“Sister, I…”
Lola Bell’s gaze unconsciously avoided Aurora’s, and that told Aurora something.
“Little sister, you’re a good girl, aren’t you? If something’s wrong, don’t keep it bottled up, tell Sister, let me help you.”
“I’m a… good girl…”
Lola Bell kept muttering those words.
In the past, whenever Lola Bell was being disobedient, Aurora would always coax her with that phrase—and it always worked.
Even now, after growing into a young woman, when she heard those words, Lola Bell instinctively obeyed everything Aurora said.
“Good girl… that’s right, I’m a good girl who belongs only to Sister. Whatever Sister wants to know, I won’t hide it.”
Suddenly, she beamed, then once again threw herself into Aurora’s arms.
Even though Lola Bell had already grown into a young lady, the way she snuggled up to her was no different from that twelve-year-old girl.
Aurora reached out and gently stroked her head, asking softly, “Then, little sister, tell me first—Is this world real?”
“It’s fake. I created this magic space just for Sister.”
“Magic space…”
Aurora frowned, clearly finding it hard to believe what she was hearing.
How could a little girl possibly create such a magic? But looking at her obedient expression, it didn’t seem like she was lying.
She took a deep breath and asked, “…Then why did you do this?”
“Because I wanted to live happily with Sister, just the two of us.”
“Then… is this appearance of yours real?”
“It’s fake.”
“Can you turn back to your original appearance?”
“Of course! As long as Sister asks, I can become anyone Sister likes.”
As she spoke, her pupils glowed red.
The girl in her arms began to grow, getting taller and taller, the two soft mounds on her chest swelling until she became a mature woman of about twenty-six.
But even so, she still clung to Aurora’s arms like a child, her obedient behavior so out of place with that mature and beautiful face.
“Sister, is there anything else you want to know? I’ll tell you everything…”
