“Isn’t it nice, just the two of us, our little family?”
The girl sat across from Aurora, her eyes still bright as ever, but Aurora couldn’t help feeling that, behind that brightness, a layer of invisible gray had settled, making her seem a bit eerie.
Aurora opened her mouth, but she didn’t know how to respond to those words.
“Big sister hates Father and Mother too, right?”
“They always made you work day and night, sewing clothes without rest, always making you flatter those damned nobles, always making you suffer so much unfairness! You can’t even have a single hot meal!”
The more Lola Bell spoke, the more agitated she seemed to become, her smile twisting into anger, but as soon as she realized it, she put that smile back on her face.
Seeing the person in front of her seemed a little frightened, she took a deep breath and spoke again: “You know, I really, really hate Father and Mother.”
“Ever since they had little brother, they stopped caring about me. After selling you to those nobles, they already found the next family to sell me to as well, so I hate them. The only one I care about is you, big sister.”
As she said this, her face still wore that gentle smile, as if she were just talking about something trivial and unimportant.
But Aurora, sitting across from the girl, was no longer calm inside when she heard these words.
Why? They’d told her all she had to do was marry into a noble family, and then they could live a good life, and Lola Bell wouldn’t have to suffer anymore—so why did they still want to sell her?
“Sis, just the two of us is enough, right? Our life, just the two of us, will be so much happier. I’ll always love you, just as you love me…”
“Just… the two of us.”
The girl looked up, eyes full of expectation, waiting for Aurora’s reply. But the words that came next made her heart sink to the bottom of the sea…
“I’m sorry… I can’t.”
“Why?!”
“Because… none of this is real, little sister. All of this is a space you created—this room, this food, even the way you look. It’s all fake.”
“I don’t want to live in a false world, little sister.”
“I see… So, big sister, you rejected me.”
Lola Bell rose from her chair and slowly walked over to Aurora, bent down, and straddled Aurora’s lap.
She wrapped her arms around Aurora’s waist and pressed her cheek to Aurora’s neck.
“L-Little sister?”
Aurora was startled by her actions, her body leaning back a little, trying to put some distance between herself and the girl in her arms.
But the girl in her arms seemed to sense even that slight movement, tightening her hold around Aurora’s waist and pressing even closer.
She could feel a warm breath against her neck, and the faint scent from Lola Bell’s red hair drifted into her nose.
The hand around her waist kept moving restlessly, and the softness of the girl’s not-yet-fully-developed chest pressed against her.
All of it made Aurora tense up, afraid that in the next moment she’d do something out of line—just like Beatrice.
“Sis… Forget all the painful memories. Stay by my side, always, always, always.”
“Whatever you want, I’ll give you. Whether it’s material things, **, or love, I can give you anything.”
“I’ll treat you as my goddess, my heart, the reason behind everything I do.”
Her head felt dizzy, as if something was flowing madly out of her mind—time, pain, and everything she cherished.
A warm palm cupped her cheek, and slender fingers gently rubbed her lips.
Everything before her eyes suddenly started to blur, her senses dulled, only the whispering voice by her ear remained clear…
“Forget everything, sis. As long as you remember only me, that’s enough.”
“I love you. Even if it makes you sad, I have to do this.”
Szz.
The old wooden chair screeched loudly across the floor as Aurora’s body suddenly tilted to the side, nearly falling.
Lola Bell caught her in her arms, and as she looked at the sleeping Aurora, a look of sadness appeared on her face.
Her big sister had been tormented into this state by that damned Witch.
Even though her outward appearance hadn’t changed, Lola Bell could feel the endless pain in her heart. The way she looked at her was still gentle, but now it was tinged with fear and distance.
What was her sister afraid of? Was she afraid she’d torment her like the Witch did? But how could she ever do that—her sister was her everything, her second life after being reborn.
“That damned Witch…”
She clenched her fists tightly, vowing to herself that once the time was right, she would grind her into ashes.
But now is not the time. The Familiar contract still connects the two of them; if one dies, the other will die as well.
Lola Bell gently laid her on the bed. Her pupils began to glow red, and in the next moment, her form changed, returning to that of the mature Saint Knight.
She stroked Aurora’s cheek and softly spoke again: “Sis, you guessed one thing wrong.”
“These dishes—they’re not fake. I made all of them myself. It’s my love for you, and I would never let anything false mix in.”
As she spoke, she focused her mind, and the entire space conjured by Magic erupted with a more dazzling golden light.
It turned out the golden glow wasn’t sunlight at all, but a gigantic Magic Circle, inscribed with countless complex patterns.
This Magic that once took everything from her—now she was going to use it on her sister. Was she really doing the right thing?
But for her sister’s happiness, she had to do it—to make her forget all the pain, leaving only memories of herself. As long as she remembered only her, they could live happily ever after.
But if she wanted to make that wish come true, erasing her sister’s memories wasn’t enough.
There was still the Familiar contract, forced on her by that Witch. If she didn’t find a way to erase the contract, her sister would remain a Silvergrad Flower trapped in a cage.
As long as the Familiar contract existed, she could never take her sister away.
Before coming here, Lola Bell had already asked Misha how to erase a Familiar contract, but the answer was a firm “Impossible.”
Misha told Lola Bell that the Familiar contract was something that surpassed even the rules of the world. There was a way to hide it, but not erase it.
And there was only one way to hide it—by layering another contract on top of it.
This method would cover up the original contract, making the master unable to sense the Familiar’s presence. But even so, the distance limitation would still exist.
So, she planned to have Aurora form a Familiar contract, temporarily cutting off the Witch’s control—but not with herself, with another pink Elven.
Letting her sister become the master of this Elven would not only cover up the Familiar contract on her, but also give her a well-behaved Familiar. It was the perfect solution.
If possible, she would have liked Aurora to contract with her—but unfortunately, humans cannot become Familiars.
“Hopefully, when sis wakes up, these dishes won’t be completely cold.”
She sat by the bed, full of hope for her sister’s “rebirth.”
