Seraphina held Yisela, who had gone completely limp, wrapped in a gentle holy light, and flew straight toward the Temple of Light.
Sylvanas turned into a green shadow and accompanied her on one side. The originally murderous revenge trip was becoming more and more off.
Yisela shrank in her arms, sniffled, and still toughed it out: “Let me down! I can walk by myself! I’m the Silver Dragon Princess, I don’t want to be carried while flying!”
Seraphina looked down at her, the corner of her mouth lifting slightly: “Your legs are so weak you can’t stand steady. If you walk by yourself, are you going to fall all the way?”
“I-I was, was doing that on purpose!” Yisela stiffened her neck, but her cheeks flushed uncontrollably. “I just, just didn’t feel like moving!”
Sylvanas snorted beside her: “Still tough-talking even at death’s door. Once we’re back at the temple, you’ll get what’s coming to you.”
“I’m not afraid!” Yisela bared her teeth at her, revealing two little fangs. “When I recover my power, I’ll yank your ears hard, pour dragon honey water all over your holy tree, and the Holy Spring!”
“You dare.” Sylvanas looked askance at her. “I can hang you on a tree to blow in the wind right now.”
“Y-you bully the weak!” Yisela immediately shrank back, muttering softly. “Using strength to bully the weak, shameless.”
Seraphina gently patted her: “Stop messing around. If you keep this up, I’ll hand you over to the Elven Queen and let her take you back to the forest.”
Yisela immediately quieted down, her little hands clutching the saintess’s collar tightly: “No! I’ll go with you! That old Elven woman is too fierce!”
Sylvanas: “You calling me an old woman?”
Before long, the Temple of Light appeared beneath the clouds.
When they landed, all the believers bowed in unison, but as soon as they saw Yisela in the saintess’s arms, everyone collectively froze, their faces pale.
“S-saintess, isn’t this the Silver Dragon Little Devil who caused a big ruckus in the temple back then?”
Seraphina spoke calmly: “Yisela is burdened with a divine curse. From now on, she will temporarily reside in the temple to reflect and atone. No one is to be rude to her.”
The believers were collectively dumbfounded!!!
Reflect and atone? Reflecting while being coaxed in someone’s arms?
Yisela immediately bristled, her little hands pounding on Seraphina’s shoulder: “Who wants to atone! I’m not guilty! I was just kindly helping you fix the bell, clean…”
Seraphina held her flailing body still: “Blaspheming against the gods, disturbing the continent, that’s not a crime?”
“I meant well but it turned out bad!” Yisela said with righteous indignation. “It’s not like I did it on purpose!”
Sylvanas stood by the door with arms crossed: “Kindness? You call that kindness causing a big disaster.”
“None of your business!” Yisela stuck her tongue out at her. “Trash elf!”
“Say that again?” Sylvanas stepped forward.
“I’ll say it! Trash, trash, trash, uwaaah!”
Purification.
Seraphina gently covered her mouth with her hand: “Alright, no more arguing.”
She carried Yisela into the most exquisite room in the temple and set her down on the soft big bed.
Yisela immediately bounced up, looking around warily: “W-what are you planning? Is this the dungeon where I’ll be punished?”
Seraphina raised an eyebrow: “Dungeon? Where does this look like a dungeon?”
Yisela was stunned.
An oversized velvet bed, snow-white furry carpet, crystal chandelier, and a table full of desserts: honey cake, fruit candy, and soft scale pudding.
Her eyes went straight: “Th-this is!”
“Your reflection room.” Seraphina picked up a piece of cake and brought it to her lips. “From today on, stay here, eat the best, and receive holy light purification.”
Yisela was bewildered: “The punishment is eating well and sleeping well?”
“What else?” Sylvanas looked askance at her. “Do you want to get beaten up?”
“I, I don’t care at all!” Yisela turned her head away, but her stomach very uncooperatively let out a gurgle.
The air solidified for three seconds.
Seraphina couldn’t help laughing: “If you’re hungry, eat. No one’s laughing at you.”
“I, I won’t eat your stuff!” Yisela insisted stubbornly. “In the Dragon’s Nest, I eat as much as I want!”
“Oh.” Seraphina withdrew her hand and said to Sylvanas, “Then take the cake away. Someone isn’t hungry anyway.”
“Don’t take it away!” Yisela immediately pounced and grabbed her wrist. “I-I’ll reluctantly eat a little bit! I just don’t want to waste food!”
Seraphina’s eyes smiled: “Reluctantly?”
“Yes! Reluctantly!”
Yisela opened her mouth and bit into the cake, her little mouth puffing up like a squirrel’s, chewing until her eyes squinted: “Mmm, delicious, even better than roasted meat.”
Sylvanas looked at her like this, her tone unconsciously softening: “Eat slowly, no one’s fighting you for it.”
“I don’t need your concern!” Yisela’s mouth was full of cake, speaking indistinctly. “I-I’ll recover my power after eating, and then, then I’ll beat you all up!”
“Fine, I’m waiting.” Sylvanas curled her lips. “I’ll see when you’ll be able to hit me.”
Seraphina gently combed her messy silver hair: “How do you feel? Is the holy light uncomfortable?”
“R-reluctantly okay.” Yisela turned her face away, secretly rubbing against her hand. “It’s just… a bit warm.”
“Are you cold?” Seraphina asked.
“A-a little,” Yisela admitted in a small voice. “That stupid curse makes me cold when I’m hungry.”
Sylvanas frowned: “So you burrowed into our arms earlier because you were cold?”
Yisela’s cheeks exploded red: “I-I, that was a mistake! I didn’t consciously hug you all!”
Seraphina said softly: “If you’re cold in the future, you can tell me. I’ll help you.”
“I-I don’t need your help!” But she silently admitted in her heart: ‘Seems like being held isn’t so bad after all.’
Seraphina was called away by a nun with an urgent expression. Sylvanas also snorted and followed. The two left the room one after another.
Yisela pressed her ear to the door and listened for a long time. After confirming the footsteps had faded away, she let out a long sigh and threw the pillow she had been hugging back onto the bed.
She jumped to the table barefoot, looking at the exquisite desserts covering it. The cake she had just stuffed into her stomach seemed to have taken up no space at all.
“So many cakes. What if I can’t eat them in the future?” she muttered softly, her ruby-like eyes scanning back and forth between the honey cake and fruit candy.
“Those two trash are being nice to this princess now, but who knows when they’ll be in a bad mood and stop giving them.”
‘That old woman Sylvanas is always saying she’ll hang this princess on a tree. Sister Seraphina is gentle, but what if one day she also thinks this princess is too troublesome…’
She didn’t finish the thought. Somewhere in her heart, it suddenly ached.
She rubbed her little face hard, dispersing this inexplicable feeling, and her gaze became resolute again.
“No, I have to seize the opportunity while it’s still here and save some rations for myself. This princess calls it preparing for a rainy day. It’s not gluttony; it’s strategic thinking.”
She proudly wagged her tail at her own cleverness and immediately took action.
She rummaged through the drawer for a clean handkerchief, opened the lid of the honey cake plate on the table, and started carefully selecting, specifically picking the ones topped with the most star-moon fruit.
The handkerchief wasn’t big enough. She fussed around for a while and finally decided to sacrifice her nightcap as a temporary storage bag.
Just as she stuffed the last piece of cake into the nightcap and was tiptoeing to hide it under the pillow, the door creaked open.
Seraphina stood at the door, holding the document she had forgotten in the room that she had yet to deliver to the temple.
She looked at the opened large plate on the table, then at the bulging nightcap in Yisela’s hand, which was still leaking cream stains.
The air solidified for about three seconds.
Yisela was completely frozen in place, her left hand still in the position of shoving something under the pillow, her tail standing straight up like it had been stepped on.
Seraphina didn’t speak.
Her gaze shifted from the nightcap to Yisela’s face. A very subtle light flickered in those pale golden eyes—not resignation, but a smile so gentle it was almost excessive, one Yisela couldn’t understand.
Then she slowly picked up the document, turned around, and left, pulling the door shut behind her.
Yisela looked down at the nightcap in her hand, then at the closed door, and the flush on her face spread from the roots of her ears all the way to her neck.
“Idiot, big idiot, what’s there to laugh at?” she muttered softly.
But she still quickly stuffed the nightcap under the pillow, then jumped back onto the bed, pulled the blanket up to her chin, and pretended nothing had happened.
She refused to admit that Seraphina’s gaze just now had suddenly warmed the sore spot in her heart. Absolutely refused to admit it.
At night, Yisela lay in bed, sleeping sprawled out, her little dragon tail occasionally flicking.
Seraphina sat by the bed, slowly channeling holy light: “There is dark magic flowing in her Silver Dragon bloodline.”
Sylvanas crouched beside her, gently touching her little dragon horns: “The more she is cared for and loved, the faster she recovers. This curse is truly peculiar.”
Seraphina looked at her: “Do you still want revenge?”
Sylvanas was silent for a moment, then said in a low voice: “Seeing her like this, I can’t muster any anger anymore.”
Just then, Yisela murmured in her sleep, her little fist swinging: “This princess has recovered her power! You all have to bake me cakes, rub my horns, and warm my bed! The whole continent is mine!”
Seraphina: …
Sylvanas: …
Truly, even when asleep, she doesn’t forget to be arrogant.
