The treatment room was filled with the mixed scent of bitter almonds and cedar essential oil.
The metal frame of the wheelchair cast web-like shadows on the floor.
When Housekeeper Lan Yinyun pushed open the door, she saw Jin Ke’er hurling a cup at the therapy bed in front of her.
The leather restraint strap of the Rehabilitation Equipment hung down to the floor, and the torn end of the silk binding was still stained with traces of blood.
The Rug of Camel Wool draped over Jin Ke’er’s knees slid down to her ankles, revealing a pale, plaster-white stump from years of lack of sunlight, its bony joints pressing against the wheelchair’s footrest, trembling like butterfly wings nailed to thorns.
Lan Yinyun bent down to pick up the Analgesic Patch that had rolled to her feet.
The Therapy Lamp cast their overlapping shadows onto the Glass Tile Wall covered with Rehabilitation Records, the shredded and rejoined charts trembling under the cold air from the AC, the fountain pen handwriting shivering in the breeze.
“We’ve already found traces of Su Li, Miss.”
Lan Yinyun reported her findings, watching as the violent look on Jin Ke’er’s face gradually calmed.
Jin Ke’er’s pale skin, under the cold light of the treatment room, took on a porcelain-like chill.
Her upturned phoenix eyes were now clouded with a murky dark green, like fogged glass beads.
Golden hair hung in messy waves, the ends tinged with an unhealthy yellow, and the Pearl Chain tangled in her hair had been pulled apart, beads scattered everywhere.
Blue veins bulged on her neck, the inside of her lip was bitten to bleeding, and there was a pale pink crescent scar on her lower lip.
The leather pad on the wheelchair’s armrest was torn open by her nails, revealing the gray-white sponge inside.
The long-unexposed stump was wrapped in lace straps, the skin above the knee covered in dark purple marks, and a snapped Rehabilitation Equipment strap still dangled from her right ankle.
The Ruby Ring on her right pinky was stained with medicine, reflecting flecks of blood-red light on her trembling hand.
At Lan Yinyun’s report, Jin Ke’er seemed to be frozen by a spell, suddenly motionless.
But Lan Yinyun could still notice her young lady’s fair fist tightly clenched, filled with tension.
Treatment had already gone on for some time, and Jin Ke’er’s condition was far worse than expected.
Even so, every time she underwent treatment, she would ask the doctor to go all out, and then, after returning to the treatment room, slowly vent all the pent-up emotions inside her.
Aside from news about Su Li, nothing seemed able to catch her attention anymore.
Lan Yinyun did not tell Jin Ke’er that she had not yet made contact with Su Li.
She wasn’t sure if Su Li was still willing to accept this job.
But she wasn’t too worried.
Su Li was just a poor girl who had never seen money.
She had seen plenty of people like that.
Although Jin Ke’er seemed to need Su Li desperately, Su Li would need Jin Ke’er just as much.
When she had provided services for Jin Ke’er before, the generous payment was hard to find anywhere else.
It was easy to get used to luxury, but hard to go back to poverty.
Once Su Li got used to high spending, she would probably never be able to return to her old, impoverished life.
That was why Lan Yinyun hadn’t rushed to investigate Su Li’s whereabouts.
Perhaps by coincidence, just recently, she received some information about Su Li.
“Su Li……”
As if triggered by a keyword, Jin Ke’er slowly lifted her head.
Jin Ke’er, picturing such a scene, couldn’t help but start trembling, her cheeks flushing bright red, her breathing growing more rapid.
“She went to our Group’s Hotel.”
Housekeeper Lan Yinyun reported her discovery, feeling her young lady’s excitement growing ever stronger.
“Hotel, Hotel, she must be looking for me.”
“She must be dying to find me by now, searching the whole world—I want to go home, let’s go home immediately.”
“After all, Su Li and I are not from the same world. The only way she can reach me is by finding the Queen Group’s properties and contacting me through that.”
“Utterly foolish, what a hopeless idiot.”
“I clearly haven’t changed my contact information, yet she insists on using such a clumsy method.”
“But that’s just like her. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have chosen such a humiliating way to make money.”
Jin Ke’er muttered to herself, pushing her wheelchair. Even though she’d been undergoing rehabilitation training for some time and the results were pretty good, she could only walk for a short time before getting tired.
A sickly flush rose on her face, and she was already impatient to hold Su Li tight, to press her hard into her own body.
Lan Yinyun just stood quietly to the side, listening to Jin Ke’er’s muttering. When she finally quieted down, Lan Yinyun continued:
“She only entered that room, but didn’t register.”
“The new front desk intern didn’t know any better and gave the client a Special Suite.”
“The intern involved has already been dismissed.”
Lan Yinyun reported.
Every Hotel under the Queen Group has Special Suites, reserved for competitors or valuable clients.
Inside, there are recording devices to eavesdrop on the entire room and hidden pinhole cameras that guests would never notice.
“Special Suite?”
Jin Ke’er’s brows gradually furrowed, her breathing ragged, a mix of anger and frustration.
Her gaze swept the room, searching for something to throw to vent her emotions.
“Su Li……”
“How could she go to a Special Suite?-
“Who did she go with?”
“Did she use her body as a bargaining chip just to find me?-
“That idiot!”
Unable to find anything to throw, Jin Ke’er grew even more agitated, grabbing at her hair over and over, but unable to ease the pressure inside her.
Scenes of Su Li serving others, fawning and flattering, flashed through her mind, fueling her rage even further!
I LIKE THIS GIRL, NO NEED TO FIX HER.
