“Asterys, be careful, don’t hurt Liang Lai~”
Dolosa was reminding Asterys and Delucia.
After all, these two tended to get a little carried away, especially since one of them was a Shadowborn who could literally slip through passages… Dolosa had even started imagining future scenes of chaos.
But for now, there was nothing to worry about because Liang Lai could only “eat” at the moment.
Illucy, who was peeking through the door crack, was completely stunned by what she saw.
She stared blankly at the scene before her, gripping her legs tighter and tighter.
She struggled to control the urge to squirm, as if her legs had a mind of their own.
“What… what is going on?”
Illucy felt incredibly embarrassed.
At that moment, she desperately wanted to cover her eyes.
Her rational mind told her to do so, but her body screamed to keep watching. Keep watching—it would definitely teach her some new kind of Knowledge…!
So Illucy swallowed hard, suppressing her reason beneath her overwhelming curiosity.
Her eyes grew wider and wider, trying to catch every detail happening inside the room.
She was very thankful the two hadn’t extinguished the candlelight; otherwise, no matter how hard she tried, she wouldn’t have been able to see clearly.
“So… so it’s actually possible to do this with the Saintess?” she murmured. “Why has the Saintess never told me about this? I… I feel like… they look really happy.”
Poor, innocent child!
“I want to do this with the Saintess someday… The Saintess only ever kissed my forehead and cheeks before—I want to kiss her on the lips,” Illucy’s gaze became obsessed. “It feels like it would be so much fun, hmm… I’ll ask the Saintess tomorrow.”
But why was the Saintess inside the room completely still? Were they playing some kind of game? Like “One, Two, Three, Freeze,” where the Saintess couldn’t move but everyone else could?
Thinking this, Illucy’s confusion deepened.
Her body started heating up even more, as if ants were crawling all over her… she couldn’t take it! Though she wanted to keep watching, Illucy worried she might make some noise if she continued. If anyone inside the room heard her, it would be bad…
So she covered her face with her hands and tiptoed away.
Back in her room, Illucy slammed the door shut and panted heavily, her whole body leaning against it.
“Phew!”
“Phew!”
Her cheeks were flushed as she reached out to touch her pounding chest, mumbling to herself, “This is really strange… Why is my heart beating so fast? Why do I feel so weird?”
She lowered her head and looked at her short skirt.
Glug~
She swallowed hard.
A hot sensation.
Could it be her period? But it wasn’t due yet.
And her stomach didn’t hurt, so it couldn’t be that.
Illucy’s eyes squinted like mosquito coils as she hesitantly checked her skirt to see if she was on her period—she didn’t want any blood on her bed.
“No, it’s not my period.”
But…
Well, it wasn’t blood either.
How did she know so clearly?
Because when she looked at her hand, what stuck to it wasn’t blood.
“This is really strange!”
She shouted, then flopped onto her bed, burying her face in the center of her pillow and rubbing it back and forth, occasionally kicking her legs up and down, beating on the soft mattress. But no matter how she vented, she couldn’t shake the strange feeling inside her.
“Phew~”
There was no way she could fall asleep tonight.
Illucy even felt a little panicked. “Could it be… could I be sick? Why… why do I feel so uncomfortable?”
With that thought, she decided not to sleep tonight and head to the Library to see if she could find out what was wrong with her.
“If I have some serious but non-fatal illness and get better, then the Saintess will definitely pay more attention to me. She’ll care for me and love me.”
Muttering to herself on the way there, Illucy hurried.
Once inside the Library, Illucy eagerly began searching through books. Her reading skills were fast, but after two hours of looking, she found nothing explaining her symptoms.
“This is so strange… Could this be some incurable disease? Or some rare disorder?”
Her anxiety grew.
However, she could feel the internal heat slowly dissipating, and her body didn’t feel as strange as before. But whenever she recalled the scene with Dolosa, Asterys, Delucia, and Liang Lai together, that odd sensation returned.
Could it be some kind of psychological illness?
So Illucy searched through psychology books for another hour. Of course, she found nothing.
Just as she was scratching her head in frustration, out of the corner of her eye, she noticed a thin book tucked away in the deepest corner of a bookshelf. It looked deliberately hidden.
“What is this?”
She crouched down to reach for it.
But the book was wedged tightly between the shelves and hard to pull out.
After struggling for a while, she finally managed to free it. If not for her small, slender figure and fingers, she probably couldn’t have gotten it.
“What’s this? Hidden so deep… Could it be a Forbidden Book?”
Her heart raced nervously.
The book had no cover, and even the title was faded… Illucy was timid and hesitant to open it. But as the saying goes, “Curiosity killed the cat.” She couldn’t resist and slowly opened the book.
“It’s okay, if anything seems wrong, I’ll run away quickly!” she reassured herself.
On the first page, Illucy saw two little figures, a boy and a girl, looking at each other affectionately…
Seeing this fairly normal scene, Illucy finally breathed a sigh of relief.
“Phew~ So it’s just a regular picture book.”
But when she turned to the second page, her relief vanished.
Illucy’s face flushed once again, as red as a boiled shrimp.
“This is…!”
In simple terms: ☺️☺️→😫😋→😭😡
Yes, and there were even textual annotations alongside, as if afraid that newcomers wouldn’t understand.
