Chi Qingya watched Su Li’s departing figure without feeling the slightest bit discouraged.
Even if Su Li had found a new backer, she didn’t really care.
After all, for such a long time, Su Li had obediently listened to her.
If she could control Su Li once, she could control her a second time.
Besides, she didn’t believe Su Li didn’t like her.
Otherwise, why hadn’t Su Li left immediately when she saw her just now?
There were only the two of them left in the classroom.
Su Li had clearly been waiting for her.
Waiting for her to apologize.
Su Li was just being a little greedy for now, but that would pass.
Chi Qingya believed it wouldn’t be long before Su Li gave in.
“Hmph, you’ll see how much I’ve changed.”
Chi Qingya muttered to herself as she looked in the direction Su Li had disappeared, though her figure was already gone down the hallway.
Chi Qingya quietly opened her class schedule for a glance.
She quickly noticed that there was an elective PE class that afternoon.
A plan began to form quietly in her mind.
If she brought Su Li a milk tea, wouldn’t Su Li be moved to tears?
It was something she had never done before.
She could already picture the scene— Su Li, under the envious gazes of everyone around, reaching for her hand with a touched expression and apologizing.
The corners of Chi Qingya’s lips lifted slightly as a faint smile appeared on her face.
……
Sunlight filtered through the sparse clouds, spilling into every corner of the campus.
The early autumn afternoon carried a touch of coolness and tranquility.
The trees on campus had started to don their autumn colors, leaves gradually shifting from green to golden.
A gentle breeze passed by, sending a few leaves drifting softly to the ground.
Chi Qingya didn’t see Su Li when she arrived at the cafeteria.
But that was perfectly normal— there were three cafeterias on campus, and Su Li could very well have gone to a different one.
Since she was a day student, Chi Qingya couldn’t go back to the dorm to rest, so she found an empty classroom to think through her plan for the PE class that afternoon.
After what felt like forever, the lunch break finally ended, and she arrived at the entrance of Starbucks, planning to buy Su Li a cup of coffee.
But then she remembered the average price at Starbucks was 30 yuan.
She was just putting on an act— was it really necessary to splurge that much on Su Li?
Besides, she just wanted to show some sincerity, not worry about presentation.
Whether it was milk tea or plain water, wasn’t it all the same if it came from the campus belle herself?
What people cared about was the fact that it was her, not what she gave.
Just the act of giving Su Li water was already giving her enough face.
What if she gave Su Li Starbucks, and Su Li took advantage of it and started asking for more?
Having made up her mind, Chi Qingya turned and walked toward a nearby Mixue Ice Cream & Tea shop.
Most of the drinks there were under ten yuan— not too expensive to spoil Su Li, but still enough to save face.
Chi Qingya’s gaze landed on a new item on the menu— “Glutinous Lemon Tea,” priced at just six yuan.
She was just about to buy one for Su Li when she overheard a conversation nearby.
“I heard that new ‘Glutinous Lemon Tea’ tastes like stinky girl feet?”
“How bad could it be?”
“Well, I’ve never tasted what girl feet are like, so how should I know?”
“Maybe it’s like a girl wearing stockings all day while exercising, sweating a bunch, and then using those stockings to filter the tea water? I kinda want to try it now.”
“Same, I’m curious too.”
Hearing that conversation, Chi Qingya looked at the Glutinous Lemon Tea in front of her and suddenly dropped the idea.
If it really tasted like stinky feet, she could definitely get one for Su Li.
But making sweaty foot tea herself would be a bit of a challenge.
Plus, she considered herself a bit of a clean freak and couldn’t stand messy or dirty things— let alone intentionally sweating into her socks.
Still, for Su Li, maybe she could try to change a little.
There was PE class that afternoon— she could take the chance to try making her own version of the Glutinous Lemon Tea and give it to Su Li afterward.
That way, she wouldn’t even have to waste six yuan.
With that thought, and just as a Mixue employee was handing out coupons, Chi Qingya took a one-yuan coupon and figured, since she was already here, she might as well buy something for Su Li— so she chose a lemon water.
After using the coupon, it only cost her four yuan.
Once she placed the order, Chi Qingya went to the waiting area.
Unlike the Starbucks on campus, Mixue was packed.
There wasn’t a single spot where she could sit and rest, so she had to go outside and find a step to sit on.
Chi Qingya had barely sat down when she felt her phone vibrate.
Her heart began to race— she instinctively thought it was a friend request from Su Li.
Maybe the words she’d said earlier while apologizing had changed Su Li’s mind.
She looked at the drink order in her hand— if Su Li added her first, then there’d be no need to give her the drink.
She could just throw it away.
She didn’t like this kind of cheap lemon water anyway; it might not even be clean.
With some nervousness, Chi Qingya pulled out her phone and quickly opened WeChat, but her face immediately fell in disappointment.
It wasn’t a friend request.
She tapped into the group chat with her close girlfriends.
There had been messages ever since class ended in the morning, and she suddenly remembered she hadn’t seen them at their usual lunch spot either.
[Strawberry Milkshake (Diet Edition): I don’t think I ate enough at lunch… Did you guys?]
[Gummy Bear: I didn’t either, sob sob. Maybe it’s because Yaya wasn’t there?]
[Strawberry Milkshake (Diet Edition): I wonder if Yaya’s awake yet? If I’m not wrong, we have PE this afternoon, right?]
[Gummy Bear: Yaya’s probably still asleep. Let’s call her before class starts so she doesn’t end up late.]
[No Cilantro (Exam Prep Edition): I’m so jealous of you guys. If you’ve got PE this afternoon, doesn’t that mean you can bring snacks to class? Why am I not in the same year as you!!!]
[Strawberry Milkshake (Diet Edition): Yaya, Yaya, are you awake? I heard there’s a new soufflé shop near our PE class. They only take cash in person and don’t do delivery. But we’re still in our pajamas and lying in bed— it’s hard for us to go out. Yaya, do you want to host a lovely dorm room afternoon tea session?]
I heard this is the hottest trend in university dorms. Lots of people are already posting about it on their Moments! @雅俗共赏
[Strawberry Milkshake (Diet Edition): [Location] S University Soufflé Shop]
[Gummy Bear: I really want to have a dorm tea party with Yaya too. Anyway, skipping PE this afternoon isn’t a big deal. Yaya will definitely join us, right? @雅俗共赏]
[No Cilantro (Exam Prep Edition): If it’s for a dorm tea session, I’ll skip class too. Will you come with us, Yaya? Even though you’re not in our dorm, we already see you as our honorary roommate! @雅俗共赏]
Chi Qingya looked at the location they had sent.
Although the address said S University, the actual spot was outside the campus.
By the time she went there and came back, PE class would probably be nearly over.
And from the sound of it, her girlfriends weren’t just planning to skip PE— they didn’t seem interested in attending any of the classes afterward either.
Chi Qingya held her phone tightly, suddenly feeling conflicted.
