Just as the two let their auras surge while meeting the black gaze, Lumiya glanced back with a hint of curiosity. From a distance, she saw the two figures in the sky confronting something.
Hmm? She sensed a different presence. Among that school of small fry… did a slightly larger fish appear?
This surprised Lumiya slightly. When she had looked earlier, she hadn’t noticed such a fish was there.
What was going on? Was something wrong with her eyes?
Even a casual glance from her wasn’t something a creature like that could hide from.
But her eyes having a problem? Give her a break.
There was only one possibility! This fellow had been teleported here along with the appearance of the Barrier! At that time, her attention had been entirely on Lin Xing.
Besides, at the end of the day, it was still just a fish. Was there really any difference between a big one and a small one? She simply hadn’t noticed an extra slightly-larger fish.
If it weren’t for the fact that the woman’s aura over there seemed to share the same bloodline origin as Lin Xing, causing her to look back, she might not have noticed even now.
Seeing that Lin Xing had no reaction, Lumiya spoke tentatively.
“Lin Xing, look over there. Those two people flying up—are they fighting something?”
Lin Xing looked in the direction Lumiya was pointing.
Although his strength at the 1st Stage Peak wasn’t enough to see every detail clearly, he could vaguely make out two Human Forms, one red and one blue, along with the blurred silhouettes of their Beasts.
It seemed the blue Human Form was holding a longbow?
Wait!!
“Lumiya! You can see clearly, right?! Is that blue figure a woman holding a longbow? Is her Beast a blue fox?!”
“Yes, how did you know? Can you see it too?”
Seeing Lin Xing’s intense reaction, Lumiya realized her hunch was correct. Lin Xing’s relationship with that woman was definitely not ordinary!
Hearing Lumiya’s confirmation, Lin Xing’s expression suddenly tightened.
His fingers unconsciously gripped their hands tighter. His lips moved, but no sound came out.
Based on the description, he of course recognized the figure in the distance!
That was his sister, Lin Yu! She was the relative who had treated him best since he crossed over to this world!
Although he wanted to go over and see if it really was her, his reason told him the best course of action right now was to stay put! That battlefield was not something his current self could touch!
Furthermore, with Lumiya and Little Green here, he was no longer alone. He couldn’t lead Lumiya and Little Green to their deaths just because of his personal feelings!
Without realizing it, as he watched the crowd around him start to grow restless, a trace of hidden violence flashed through Lin Xing’s eyes, though it was quickly suppressed.
He had to stay calm.
The only thing he could do now was stay here so his sister would have fewer worries. That seemed to be the only thing possible at the moment!
He believed his sister would be fine. He could only believe that!
Sensing the pressure on her palm increasing until his knuckles turned slightly white from the force, Lumiya’s heart stirred.
The relationship between that woman in the distance and Lin Xing seemed to be more than just “not bad.”
Glimpsing Lin Xing’s tightly pursed lips and the suppressed anxiety in the depths of his eyes, a look of realization crossed her Golden Vertical Pupil. She quietly squeezed his hand back with her fingertips.
“That woman is very important to you, isn’t she? Don’t worry. You can’t see clearly, but over there, it’s a total crushing victory.”
Lin Xing suddenly snapped out of it. Right! He was so worried he’d lost his head.
Since Lumiya could see, he just needed to ask her what the situation was!
What was wrong with him just now? Why couldn’t he think of something so simple?
However, Lumiya saw the truth.
The moment Lin Xing realized the blue figure was his relative, an extremely thin Golden Thread quietly emerged above his head!!
That thread shimmered with a light like fate itself.
One end was wrapped around the center of his brow, while the other disappeared into the void.
Almost the instant the thread appeared, Lin Xing’s emotions fluctuated violently, and he fell into a state of extreme anxiety!
Had Lumiya not quietly pinched and snapped that thread, it likely wouldn’t have been long before he was driven by this mysterious impulse to do something reckless.
If that happened, what awaited Lin Xing would be the danger of facing a Demonic Creature head-on, followed by breaking through to the Second Rank in a life-or-death moment, and then quickly mastering a Secret Technique through Lumiya’s help!
Then he would fall into an even greater crisis immediately after! After a hard-fought battle, he would obtain a stroke of luck!
To put it simply, Lin Xing was being set up by The World!
Lumiya looked up at the sky with displeasure.
This broken world was plotting against Lin Xing right in front of her. Did it think that by tossing him some breakthrough opportunities, she would go along with it and let it toss Lin Xing around?
Lin Xing’s character had already been forged back on Little Earth! As for strength, she was here! He didn’t need The World to give him any “opportunities!”
So it could forget about adding any “trials.”
With her around, Lin Xing didn’t need any of that!
But… she had said it was a crushing victory, however…
On the main battlefield, the human side had the advantage of great cannons. Every blast tore a massive hole through the swarms of Sea Beasts!
Severed limbs and black ichor splashed like rain. Relying on their firepower advantage, they were crushing these flesh-and-blood Demonic Creatures, forcing them into a retreat.
But unlike the crushing momentum of the main battlefield, the battlefield high in the sky seemed to be the exact opposite!
“No! We can’t hold on much longer!”
“We have to hold even if we can’t! Are the Aristocratic Families insane?! They actually let a Demonic Creature with half a foot in the 6th Stage through!”
The two figures, one red and one blue, were once again sent flying.
Of their Beasts, only their main ones remained by their sides. The others had already been heavily injured and retracted into their spaces.
Lin Yu spat out a mouthful of blood. The Blue Longbow trembled slightly in her hand, the feather-like patterns on the bowstring growing dim.
Beside her, the Ice Fox’s fur was standing on end, and blood dripped continuously from the corners of its mouth, yet it still stubbornly bared its teeth and growled at the front.
Lao Hu was in even worse shape!
His armor flickered like a candle in the wind, the plates covered in spiderweb-like cracks. Blood leaked steadily from several broken areas.
The Giant Ape Gauntlets had even dissolved into specks of light and vanished into the air, leaving only his blood-mangled palms clenched into fists.
The state of the flaming Giant Wolf was equally tragic.
Its left front paw was twisted at a bizarre angle, bone protruding through the skin.
Yet it still stood on three legs, a low roar vibrating in its throat. Its remaining right eye stared deathly at the Demonic Creature ahead.
Though the flames around it were weak, they had not yet been extinguished.
The Demonic Creature before them wasn’t doing much better.
Its massive body was covered in wounds of varying depths, and several thick tentacles had been severed at the base!
Pitch-black, viscous liquid gushed from the stumps, sizzling as it hit the ground and corroding small pits.
But its ferocity had not diminished in the slightest. Its remaining tentacles lashed out wildly, each movement carrying a heart-trembling pressure.
Clearly, the injuries it had sustained were not particularly severe!
Within those cloudy black eyes, an ultimate madness was churning, filled with hideous bloodshot veins. The black slime dripping from its mouth mixed with its broken shrieks.
Its whispers were intermittent but carried a spine-chilling fanaticism!
“Humans!… Finished… I!! I! Long live!… King!!”
