Chapter 49: Affair

Chi Yingyu never expected that her brother-in-law could be so generous—or perhaps, he was only so generous because of her.

Because of her unique situation, Jiang Lai had become especially soft-hearted toward her, almost to the point of spoiling her and granting her every wish.

In some ways, Jiang Lai’s care and indulgence for his sister-in-law even surpassed how he treated his own daughter.

Chi Yingyu knew she was being selfish, but this relationship between brother-in-law and sister-in-law was something she never wanted in the first place.

If only she had been a little older back then, maybe things would be completely different now.

Chi Yingyu paused, thinking that today was truly a bountiful harvest.
