Samimi was researching magic, Niubao was practicing battle aura, and Veronica went home to call for reinforcements. Everyone was working hard for the upcoming war.
She hadn’t had much time to research magic before, so now she was cramming at the last minute, needing to develop high-level spells with large area damage. But she couldn’t say she had no time.
Niubao and the others practiced in their spare time every day, consolidating techniques and innovating swordsmanship. Why is it that you, Samimi, have no time? Answer me! You lazy bum!
What about Fabiana, the protagonist of the West Sea storyline? After coming home and crying in grief, she hasn’t had much screen time recently.
Because she’s been focusing on health preservation. She goes to bed early, wakes up early, eats on time, doesn’t train at all, and isn’t the least bit anxious. No one knows what she’s doing all day.
Knight King Char, on the other hand, was busy every day, constantly meeting with the Giant Whale Knights, arranging the defenses of Knight Court City, assigning tasks, and collecting food supplies to prepare for emergencies.
Also, all the servants in the fortress city had left, so all logistics work had to be done by the knights. But the Giant Whale Knights who stayed were all loyal to Knight King Char. Dirty and tiring work was nothing; loyalty was the highest reward.
Why were knight orders formed in the first place? Wasn’t it for moments like this? If the Adventurers Guild was established for PvE, then knight orders were created for PvP. The previous Knight Feasts were just child’s play, only pretending that we were civilized. But from beginning to end, war is the perfect stage to test a knight order.
Why is the Holy Knight Order the number one knight order in the kingdom? It’s because their fists are strong enough; their achievements are earned through sheer strength, with no exaggeration.
Looking at the nine great knight orders that participated in the Knight Feast before, they seemed to have too much exaggeration and lacked any real courage.
Otherwise, they wouldn’t have let Samimi and her group withdraw safely. It can only be said that if the money isn’t enough, people won’t risk their lives for you. But none of that matters now. What matters is that everyone has dropped all pretense now.
Samimi could finally put back on her Sinner’s Blindfold and carry the Slaying Demon Sword on her back, immediately feeling that her soul had returned.
And when she saw Fabiana finally come out of the sorrowful old mansion, she found that this girl was dressed even cooler than herself! This girl wore her own Priest Robe and never took it off, then disassembled her own pure white armor.
She only wore arm guards, a skirt armor, shoulder pads, and metal boots, removing the heavy leg armor and breastplate.
She no longer wore a knight helmet, but instead wore a half-face mask on her face, specially protecting her forehead. It was obvious she also wanted to imitate Samimi’s blindfolded look. But not just anyone can pull off this kind of look.
Thick armor protected her limbs, while her heaving white slime was exposed like that, with all vital internal organs left undefended.
This was a pure anime-style pretty girl outfit, completely abandoning practicality. Cool is cool, but useless is useless. This otherworld of ours isn’t a purely fantasy world; we still have to consider a bit of reality. But being cool is a lifelong matter.
“Have you finally finished grieving?”
Even Samimi couldn’t bring herself to tease or criticize; even though there were so many things to mock, her words became unusually serious instead.
“Sorry to keep you waiting so long,” Fabiana apologized. “After returning from Dream Village, I’ve had a brand new experience. It really is the Human Emperor’s Blessing.”
“What kind of experience?” Samimi asked.
“Not sure yet. I’ll tell you once I figure it out,” Fabiana replied.
After all, the Human Emperor’s Blessing was something she made up, because there was no evidence at all.
“You’re possessed,” Samimi remarked.
Though analyzing from this world’s perspective, there was an 80% chance it was real. And a 20% chance it was fake.
If it was fake, then it was trouble, because this might really be some kind of Undead Evil God Power. That is to say, Fabiana might not have the Human Emperor’s Blessing, but instead an Evil God’s Blessing.
Fabiana came over and sat with Niubao under the pine tree, engaging in combat meditation together, simulating battles in their minds.
This scene was really strange. Mages were sparring in real combat every day, while knights and swordsmen were sitting blankly in meditation. Everything was to mentally prepare for the impending war.
Days passed one after another. Recently, on the great plains, some light cavalry had been prowling around. These were definitely enemy scouts.
It seemed that the Three Lords’ claim that they would come to deal with the Dilmurt family was not a bluff; they were really coming.
This was truly a dangerous move. Just like when the Fat Archbishop judged Samimi back then. If they couldn’t judge her, it would only help her become a saint.
Now it was the same. If the Three Lords couldn’t quickly eliminate the Dilmurt family, they would only push the Dilmurt family onto a pedestal.
And the key was to move quickly; moving too slowly wouldn’t work either. Once the fighting started, they had to race against the clock. Because every additional second the Dilmurt family survived would increase their reputation. Because this was a one-sided aggressive, unjust civil war.
But Count Perry had his own words to say. His son was killed by the Dilmurt family, so wiping out the Dilmurt family was only natural. If he didn’t avenge this, what kind of count would he be? Of course, Count Perry would never say why they came back to kill his son. He would definitely not tell everyone that it was he who sent assassins to kill the Rebel War Commander Fabiana’s parents, thus inviting revenge. Count Perry was the mastermind of this battle.
The other two Great Lords maintained relatively subtle attitudes toward this. They agreed to help, but only halfway, not fully.
Count Salam and Marquis Edward sent many local cannon fodder knight orders to assist in the siege, but they wouldn’t lend their own elite experts.
Count Perry could only use his own core forces. But the good thing was that he had money, power, and resources, and could use abundant resources to hire top-level experts.
Recently, it was practically a mercenary carnival. All the mercenaries in the entire United Kingdom flooded into the West Sea.
The North Cold and East Desert were continents of mercenaries; as soon as they heard about the war, they traveled thousands of miles to the West Sea.
Infantry, archers, siege equipment—all kinds of troops joined the Count’s army, making it no longer just monotonous cavalry. But the most formidable was that the Count’s army also had a powerful mage squad, specially tasked with dealing with that strange and evil Church divine official.
Finally, the Three Lords began to control public opinion. All the poets of the West Sea began to loudly publicize the evil deeds of the Dilmurt family and the Giant Whale Knights, claiming they colluded with demon monks.
