“I’m sorry.”
Olivia said in a low voice.
The transformation of [Soul] finished in almost an instant.
After the shadow eroded it, its appearance turned savage and terrifying, exactly like a torture device demons used in hell, a sight that made the heart seize.
The writhing shadow gave Creis a trace of wretchedness inside her despair, yet the girl only widened her pupils a little and showed no other special reaction.
It was as if she had accepted reality.
A haze settled over her eyes.
“Is this your power?” Creis asked.
“This is my power.”
Olivia returned to her original form.
After waiting for so long, she could finally release her true strength in front of Creis.
Her clear pupils became those of a demon.
The cross-shaped shadow mark looked exactly like mockery aimed at the gods.
The color drained a little from her pale cheeks.
Two spiral horns grew from her silver-white hair.
Olivia released demonic aura from her entire body and burst through her clothes, revealing rounded fullness.
Demon markings stretched from her chest down her arms like black ribbons wound around her charming figure.
On those long, beautiful legs the markings showed through her stockings in a few vivid strokes, wrapping her full skin like garters.
This Chief Heavenly Oracle Envoy, after months of shadow’s influence, differed from a demon by only a pair of black demon wings.
A faint fluorescence still shone in her eyes.
After lightly licking her cherry lips, Olivia wrapped an arm around Creis’s waist.
At some point a black chain had appeared in her hand and connected to the metal ring of [Soul], exactly like leading a slave she had decided to toy with.
“You’ve been waiting for this day all along, haven’t you, Olivia?” Creis asked.
“Mm~ Not that long, only a few months. I waited for the day you let your guard down, the day you gave me the chance.”
There was a trace of repentance in Olivia’s voice.
“Creis, are you very sad?”
Creis nodded and said nothing.
That fallen look of hers seemed to admit her own defeat.
“Because I deceived your feelings, is that what you think?”
“I have that feeling. I can feel it.” Creis answered.
Her chest felt tight, a sensation she had never experienced before.
It was like frustration, yet sharper and more sorrowful.
Olivia took in every change in her feelings, watching every detail of her expression as if she meant to burn it deep into her memory.
A girlish flush appeared on Olivia’s sacred face.
The corners of her mouth lifted slightly.
Delight sparkled in her eyes.
“Creis, you were looking forward to this day too, weren’t you? You deliberately lowered your guard and left an opening so that I would succeed.”
Creis did not answer.
Her silence meant Olivia’s guess was completely correct.
She could have resisted.
The design of [Soul] had clearly underestimated a Celestial God’s power.
Although it could seal most of her strength, Creis only needed to move a little to free thirty percent of it.
Even at thirty percent, Olivia might not have been her match.
That was why Olivia had, in a single instant, replaced every bit of mana inside it with shadow.
This way Creis would fall completely under Olivia’s control, just like the Evil God’s “Cursed Ring.”
Creis had not resisted at any point, even though she still had zero-point-nine seconds in which she could have fought back.
“Was everything you did only so you could take me?”
Creis shook her head.
“I don’t understand. If you could move against me, why didn’t you pour shadow into me earlier? Why?”
“You clearly could have acted not long ago, when you pinned me to the bed, or when I fainted. With your power… even if you didn’t think of it the first time, what about the second time, the third time?”
Creis’s voice grew somewhat agitated.
“I don’t understand why you only moved against me now. Was it only because you weren’t completely certain, or was there another reason…”
“Olivia, I don’t care that I will lose. I only want to know whether you were lying to me… You, why?”
“From the moment we met again, from the moment you chose to change on your own, through our kisses and the nights we shared a room, I have never once lied about how I see you, Creis.” Olivia answered.
She pushed Creis down onto the bed.
Those pupils opened very wide, like two gleaming, translucent black holes that wanted to swallow the Celestial God whole.
A tail had wrapped around Creis’s thigh without her noticing.
The tail shifted lightly.
Seeing the tension on Creis’s face and hearing her heartbeat race, Olivia felt a satisfaction she had never known before.
She loved Creis, and over the long years that love had even grown somewhat pathological.
Even when she tried her hardest to suppress the desire in her heart, her pulse still quickened on its own, as if the next bite would sink into her prey’s throat and she would taste her scalding blood.
“Creis, every feeling I have for you is real.”
“Countless years ago, after you left, I kept thinking. I wanted to obtain you. I wanted you to come back to my side.”
“That’s right. But I couldn’t. I was Chief of the Heavenly Oracle Envoys. I couldn’t act like a madwoman. The Heavenly Oracle Envoys all needed me, so I endured. I pretended I didn’t care. I pretended nothing had happened, that I was only raising a child, haha…”
Olivia’s laugh was collapsing.
“The day you left, the pain was more than I could bear. I got down from the bed, saw the painting you had given me, and my mind was full of you.”
“When I saw how much Gabriella’s eyes looked like yours, my mind was full of you.”
“The moment I saw her smile, my mind was full of you too, Creis.”
“Every one of these feelings is real. I like you that much. I love you that much. I like you~ I like you so much. I like you, I like you, I like you…”
Olivia’s voice grew more and more frenzied.
Shadow surged wildly through her body.
“Ah…”
Creis felt a faint itch at her neck.
The instant she was pinned to the bed, strength seemed to leave her entire body.
Then Olivia hooked Creis’s face upward, clamped her right leg with a little force, tilted her head, and smiled.
“It’s sentimental, isn’t it? I’m sorry, Creis~ The moment you said you weren’t a competent mother, I realized I still like you after all. I like you far too much… You already became someone different. I liked the you of the past as well, even when you hurt me.”
Olivia’s movements grew more aggressive, and Creis let out a soft moan.
“Nnh.”
She took in every word Olivia said.
This time was different from before.
She understood how deeply Olivia loved her.
Just as she herself had felt sadness and loss a moment ago, that same emotion had crushed Olivia’s heart countless times and turned her into what she was now.
Only then did Creis realize how many sins she still had left to atone for.
“Become mine, Creis~”
