“Elder Sister is the best, I love Elder Sister the most.”
Chi Qingyao said as she linked arms with Chi Qingya, speaking happily.
“Since the elder sisters have already spoken, I won’t hold back.”
Chi Qingyao said, pulling Chi Qingya to sit down at the seat.
Seeing them sit down, Cai Xiangxiang and the others breathed a slight sigh of relief.
Since Chi Qingya had taken a seat, it probably meant they wouldn’t have to pay this time.
“Little sister, take a look and see if there’s anything you like to eat. Don’t stand on ceremony with us sisters.”
Cai Xiangxiang said with a smile, while Chi Qingyao had already started glancing through the menu.
“Yao Yao, you have no idea how unreasonable Su Li was today.”
“Exactly, Yao Yao. I don’t know what’s gotten into Su Li lately—she’s turned into a wild child with no one to discipline her.”
“Back when Su Li was with Yao Yao, she was so well-behaved and obedient. Now that she’s not with Yao Yao anymore, she’s probably been led astray by outsiders. Who knows what kind of people she’s been hanging out with?”
Listening to her close friends complain about Su Li, Chi Qingya remained silent.
She was still worried that her younger sister might ask about Su Li after hearing the topic.
Now she had no connection with Su Li anymore; she couldn’t even introduce her to her sister.
Of course, if it were in a dream, she could introduce them.
Chi Qingya felt a trace of regret. If her sister had come earlier, she might still have been able to introduce her to Su Li.
As for the conversation among the group, Chi Qingyao acted as if she hadn’t heard it, simply holding the menu and browsing.
“Sis, I want to eat these.”
Chi Qingya nodded as she watched her sister order the dishes.
Not long after, the waitress brought the meals Chi Qingyao had ordered into the private room.
Cai Xiangxiang’s face turned a little green when she saw what Chi Qingyao had ordered.
These were dishes they also wanted to eat but had been reluctant to order.
They were afraid that if they ordered too much, Chi Qingya would refuse to pay.
But now, with Chi Qingyao ordering, it was different.
Since Chi Qingyao had ordered so many dishes, Chi Qingya couldn’t avoid paying.
Chi Qingya really had a good little sister.
The group exchanged glances, suppressing the smiles threatening to break out on their faces.
“Little sister, eat more. There are a lot of delicious things in S City. If you have time, we elder sisters can take you around.”
“You sisters just worry about yourselves. Don’t mind me.”
Chi Qingyao didn’t care; she just nodded and focused on eating.
From time to time, she shared a bite with Chi Qingya.
Chi Qingyao picked up a piece of Olive Meat Duck with her chopsticks and stuffed it into her mouth. Her eyes instantly went wide. “Sis! This duck meat is as smooth as jelly!”
She chewed with her cheeks puffed out while tugging at Chi Qingya’s sleeve. “Try this piece—it melts on your tongue with just a squeeze. The olive flavor has seeped into the bone!”
Then she scooped up a spoonful of Golden Broth Rice. The hot, golden broth coated the rice grains and slid down her throat, making her gasp from the heat. “Tsk—this broth is so fresh it’s like the whole seafood market was stewed into it!”
The rice grains had absorbed all the rich broth, bursting with juice when gently pressed between her teeth. Her chopsticks were moving so fast they left afterimages.
“The big city is really great. We never get to eat things like this back in the countryside.”
Chi Qingyao said with emotion. Seeing that Chi Qingyao had also ordered an extra portion of Olive Meat Duck just for herself, Cai Xiangxiang and the others felt a little displeased.
What?
Were they worried about catching something from them?
But thinking that Chi Qingya would end up footing the bill anyway, they didn’t say much.
“Yao Yao, I wish you had been at school today. If you had been there, you definitely could have put Su Li in her place.”
Chen Tangguan looked at Chi Qingya and said.
Chi Qingya, however, recalled the last time she had met Su Li alone. Su Li’s eyes when she looked at her were no different from looking at a stranger.
Now that Su Li no longer lived at the place Chi Qingya had provided, there was nothing holding her back.
The only thread connecting them had disappeared when Su Li left.
Now she had no standing to demand that Su Li follow her wishes.
Even if Su Li hung out with other people, she had no right to interfere.
Whatever Su Li wanted to do, she could do—none of it had anything to do with her.
Chi Qingya didn’t know how to answer Chen Tangguan, so she just lowered her head and ate in silence.
“Yao Yao, Yao Yao, why aren’t you talking? We asked you about Su Li in the group chat, and you didn’t respond.”
“Are you still in contact with Su Li now?”
“Did you see the photo in the group?”
“Do you know the girl beside Su Li? Su Li was really awful today.”
“Yao Yao!”
The questions from her close friends rang in her ears like a machine gun firing at her head.
Chi Qingya felt a headache coming on.
“I don’t know!”
“I’ve had no contact with Su Li for a long time.”
“Whatever she wants to do has nothing to do with me.”
“Stop talking about Su Li!”
Chi Qingya felt sweat gathering on her forehead without her even realizing it. Every question Cai Xiangxiang and the others asked made her more irritated.
Su Li already had other girls around her.
She couldn’t just stand still and wait for her.
Besides, she had already done something wrong, and Su Li hadn’t forgiven her.
“Oh, sorry, we thought you and Su Li were still close.”
Cai Xiangxiang sat back down in her seat, watching Chi Qingya gasp for breath, and blinked.
She exchanged glances with Chen Tangguan and Wei Yanxi, thinking about their next move.
It seemed there was some conflict between Chi Qingya and Su Li now.
But Chi Qingya didn’t seem to have any strong aversion to Su Li.
Otherwise, after being provoked by them, Chi Qingya would have probably wanted to stand up and go confront Su Li.
“Yao Yao, don’t take it to heart. With a personality like Su Li’s, no one can stand her.”
“Today, Caicai just asked Su Li a question, and she put on a sour face, like we owed her tens of thousands.”
“It’s one thing to ignore us, but Su Li even laid hands on Caicai directly.”
“That’s just too much.”
Wei Yanxi said discontentedly. Cai Xiangxiang’s face flushed green with anger.
She hadn’t expected Wei Yanxi to reveal such an embarrassing thing about her, especially in front of an outsider.
“Xixi, didn’t I ask you to keep it a secret?”
“Yao Yao isn’t an outsider!”
“I—I just can’t stand it!”
“If it were Yao Yao, she could teach Su Li a lesson, right? Su Li would definitely listen to Yao Yao, wouldn’t she?”
“I only… only want Su Li to apologize to me!”
“What she did this time was way too much!”
