The Holy King Capital remained brightly lit at night.
Looking out it was like countless little ants crawling out of neatly arranged anthills in search of food.
The streets, paths, and alleys were still bustling with people coming and going.
From the top of the towering spire the girl’s cyan hair was not particularly noticeable under the cover of darkness.
The cross in her eyes seemed like flickering fireflies in the night accurately scanning every person who appeared on the streets of the Holy King Capital.
Then she lightly leaped and with just a thought appeared on an even taller spire across the way.
At a height of a hundred meters it was completely silent except for the whistling wind beside her ears bringing news of early summer.
Creis continued to stare without blinking as if she was certain the person she was looking for was not far away on the streets below.
Suddenly the sound of wind from the opposite direction came from beside her.
Creis only glanced slightly in that direction with her eyes before continuing to stare intently at the city below.
“Are you also here to find someone?”
At this moment Olivia appeared behind her.
“Mm.” Creis nodded. “You noticed it too.”
“Of course. Such obvious movement even for a Heavenly Oracle Envoy is a bit too disrespectful to people isn’t it~?”
“It’s Hertitz. She seems to be called the Flame Saint.”
Creis brought up the information she had looked up last time.
“That’s right. It’s her.”
Olivia walked to her side and placed her hand on the stone railing.
Her maid skirt fluttered slightly in the wind.
“Has daughter already fallen asleep?”
“Yes.”
“I thought you were going to tell me that I should be guarding daughter right now instead of running around outside.”
Olivia gave Creis a smile.
The latter did not look into her eyes.
As if she had finally confirmed the target’s location Creis closed her eyes.
“I’m not a blockhead. I know how to change. If Olivia misunderstands me I will feel quite troubled too.” Creis explained.
She of course understood what Olivia wanted to express.
After all if it weren’t for Gabriella she would indeed have asked the same question just now.
“You really are different from before~ Actually Creis I originally didn’t plan to come find you this time.”
“If I could see you fight perhaps I would know what your ability is. After all for so many years no one has been able to make you go all out.”
“There was one time.” Creis seemed to have almost ignored all the previous words or perhaps had simply digested them.
“It was the Apostles.”
“Yes. The Apostles are very dangerous. And the temple last time gave me a strange feeling. The god worshipped there does not exist… I feel that this world is being deceived.”
“Are they the problem you’re worried about? Is the opponent another god?”
“A world without a god is the norm. It’s impossible for this world to have a fourth god.”
Olivia nodded. “I don’t know anything about this either.”
Creis did not move.
She had clearly already seen the direction the tracking target was heading.
The other party seemed to have already left the city below and was walking toward the distance.
Olivia followed her gaze.
It was a girl wearing a red robe shuttling through the crowd active at night.
Her speed was very fast but from high above watching her she only looked like a slightly faster ant.
“Did something happen between you and daughter?”
Creis opened her mouth but did not say anything.
“It’s fine if you don’t tell me. Actually I can probably guess most of it. In the end she still hasn’t been able to adapt to your set of values.”
Olivia comforted her with her hands behind her back.
“Things might be a bit more complicated than you imagine.”
To Olivia’s surprise Creis actually answered.
Creis lowered her head very deeply.
“If possible I would rather not let daughter recover that segment of memory.” It seemed like a confession.
“At the very beginning I thought everything was over. I went to find Gabriella but she had disappeared. Later I only discovered on a patch of black land that she was planting [Evil Tree]. She seemed to have been influenced in her thinking by the Evil God to the point that she wanted to resurrect the Evil God.”
“From the results it looks like she succeeded right?”
“Yes.”
Creis shook her head.
A pair of deep blue pupils suddenly became unfocused.
She recalled the previous heart-wrenching battle with Gabriella that had lasted several weeks.
Their fight had affected the entire continent torn open the sky and even allowed them to see scenes from another plane.
“Creis have you ever thought that maybe it’s because Gabriella deeply loves the Demon King that she tried every possible way to resurrect her? Maybe her mind wasn’t actually influenced.”
Creis shook her head. “After you died she collapsed. Beyond that I don’t know.”
“Then does Creis want to make some changes?”
“I need to change.”
Creis raised her head.
She shifted her gaze onto Olivia.
“Let’s date.”
“Huh?”
“If Gabriella really has fallen in love with the Evil God then I also want to know what [love] feels like. That way I can help Gabriella understand me. And care about others.”
Hearing these words Olivia both wanted to cry and laugh.
She wanted to cry because Creis had never been this proactive or this caring toward others before.
She wanted to laugh because she was clearly not an idiot who had learned how to confess.
Even though the two were nominally spouses there should be no need to date and talk about love like a young couple.
Creis had indeed never dated before.
“We’ve kissed before. I know that’s something couples do.”
Seeing that the other party was still silent Creis immediately added.
Her implication was that Olivia had clearly already agreed.
“A kiss counts as dating?” Olivia’s gaze became extremely teasing.
“Is there anything else besides kissing?”
“Of course there is. But it depends on whether Creis can accept it.”
“I can accept it.”
Creis’s serious answer once again made her feel both amused and helpless.
After thinking for a while Olivia patted her head. “Let’s talk about it when we get back.”
“Mm.”
“You’re so cute.”
As she spoke Olivia’s figure turned into a streak of speeding light.
She caught up to the figure running through the streets.
By now the other party had already slipped into a small alley that was a blind spot in the field of vision.
The alley was not deep.
Continuing forward and turning left would lead to another street.
The other party did not seem very familiar with this place.
It was only to avoid them or rather to issue a challenge.
Olivia descended from the sky and blocked the way.
At this moment the maid outfit on her body had changed into the robes of the Saint Son.
She wore a hood but the loose clothing could not hide her ample chest.
Creis followed closely behind and sealed off the girl’s escape route as well.
But she did not change clothes and was still wearing a maid outfit.
The girl also took off her hood revealing a head of orange-yellow hair.
“You are…”
