Su Li watched Miss Cat’s well-behaved appearance, set Miss Cat’s old cell phone aside, and took out the new phone she had bought for her.
Su Li raised the phone and aimed it at Miss Cat.
The girl immediately straightened her back, her fingers tightly gripping the corners of her skirt. She even held her breath, her entire body becoming tense.
The halo of light filtering through the floral curtains tinted the tips of her hair, and one could clearly see her pink nose twitching slightly.
“Relax a little.”
Su Li’s fingertips lightly tapped her trembling shoulder.
“Lift your chin a bit higher. Yes, just like that.”
Miss Cat obediently raised her face, the tips of her ears turning pink in the sunlight.
She followed Su Li’s instructions, folding her palms over her knees, but her fingertips couldn’t help but rub against the lace hem of her skirt.
This was the first time anyone had ever taken a photo of her. Because of that, she was still quite nervous.
If she were in her Cat form, she would only need to be posed by Miss Cat’s Pooper-Scooper and wait for the photo to be taken. But now, she was no longer just a Little Kitten.
The moment the shutter clicked, Miss Cat’s eyes suddenly widened, like a Little Kitten startled by a flash.
Su Li smiled and turned the phone around to show her the screen.
This one was very cute, but her fingers were gripping too hard, wrinkling the hem of the skirt.
“It doesn’t matter, though. After all, Cat is naturally cute.”
“No matter how I take the photo, the result is always beautiful.”
For the second photo, Su Li crouched down for a low-angle shot.
Miss Cat looked down at the lens, her twin-tails swaying gently as she shifted her body. She gave a timid, bashful smile.
Su Li reached out to brush away a stray lock of hair covering her eyes. Her cool fingertips brushed against Miss Cat’s burning earlobe.
“Don’t purse your lips when you smile. It looks better when you show your Canine Teeth like you usually do.”
“Okay,” Miss Cat said softly. When she smiled, two adorable little dimples appeared.
The final shot was a profile view.
Su Li had Miss Cat sit by the bay window, the sunlight gilding her silhouette with a golden edge.
Following Su Li’s command, Cat tried to mimic a Magazine Model by resting her chin on her hand, but her elbow kept slipping.
Su Li used two fingers to gently support her elbow.
“Hold it. Three, two — “
With a click, Miss Cat was frozen in time, looking like a young girl who had stepped out of an oil painting.
Her eyelashes cast shadows like butterfly wings across her cheeks.
Su Li was incredibly satisfied with her own photography skills and, naturally, quite pleased with her model.
Whether in her past life or now, Cat was very photogenic.
“Alright, Cat is truly adorable.”
Su Li looked at the finished photos of Miss Cat and said, “Can you send the photos to me?”
“Y-Yes.”
Miss Cat’s face was beet-red. She and Su Li were Friends. It was only natural for Su Li’s photos to be on her phone and her photos to be stored on Su Li’s phone.
‘So, I’m actually good-looking too?’ Miss Cat thought to herself.
She let out a small sigh of relief.
‘If that’s the case, then being with Su Li shouldn’t embarrass her, right?’
Miss Cat stood beside Su Li, watching her busy figure and carefully observing how she operated the phone.
If she could learn how Su Li did it, would that mean she could take many beautiful photos in the future and share everything she liked with Su Li?
Miss Cat couldn’t help but feel happy just thinking about it.
In the past, there were many things she wanted to share with Su Li, but her phone simply couldn’t take clear photos, and she worried that Su Li was too busy to reply.
“Su Li, Su Li, can I take photos and share them with you from now on?”
Miss Cat had already learned how Su Li sent photos. She asked in a small, slightly nervous voice. She wanted to share her life with Su Li.
“Of course you can,” Su Li nodded.
A Cat that would report its own activities.
Ever since she and Cat had a Home together, Su Li no longer kept Cat by her side at all times.
When Su Li was out working, she often worried about Cat.
Even though she prepared plenty of food and many toys for Cat to play with, she still worried that Cat would be lonely at Home by herself.
She worried she wouldn’t adapt well.
Fortunately, every time she returned Home, Cat always managed to run to the Door immediately.
She would even wait specifically by the entrance to pounce into Su Li’s arms.
“Let’s go deposit the money you’ve hidden first.”
“I still have work to do this afternoon. If you want to go Home, you can head back first.”
“Going to our Home is fine too; you can clear out a Room for yourself.”
“As for the key, I’ll get one made for you in a moment.”
As Su Li spoke, Cat followed behind her and nodded.
‘Our home…’
Miss Cat thought to herself, feeling very happy. Did she have a Home too? In this world.
However, she still didn’t want to cause Su Li any trouble. If she had time, she could go to Su Li’s Home and help her tidy up the rooms.
Miss Cat followed behind Su Li. After receiving the house key, she held it tightly, terrified she might lose it.
“Don’t worry too much. It’s a rented house anyway. If you lose the key, we can just ask the Landlord to make another one.”
Seeing Miss Cat’s serious expression, Su Li comforted her. Miss Cat nodded, but she still gripped the key firmly in her hand.
After getting the key made, Su Li followed behind Miss Cat. Her hand was held by Miss Cat as they wove through the streets until they reached the end of an alleyway.
She watched Miss Cat squat down by a rusty fire hydrant and pry away a few broken bricks.
Then, Miss Cat pulled an iron spoon out of her worn-out bag and began digging into the concrete ground while half-squatting.
Su Li noticed that the handle of the spoon looked like it had been used for a long time, even showing signs of rust.
Small pebbles and clumps of dirt flew everywhere, and the iron spoon made a piercing screech as it scraped against something hard.
Miss Cat suddenly scooted forward, her fingers covered in mud as she cleared away the loose soil.
She pulled out a package wrapped in three layers of Plastic Bags.
The innermost layer was tied tightly with a Convenience Store receipt, and the crumpled bills inside were smoothed out and arranged neatly by denomination.
Su Li noticed half a dried Catnip leaf stuck to a 5-yuan bill.
“There are other places…”
“Su Li, do you want to wait for me here? I’ll bring the money to you once I’ve gathered it all.”
“Otherwise, following me around might be very tiring.”
Miss Cat spoke, remembering that Su Li still had to work. She was worried about wasting Su Li’s time.
“It’s alright. I don’t mind a little extra time.”
Su Li was also curious about where Cat hid all her money.
As a Pooper-Scooper, how could she not be curious seeing her cat hide things away?
In the past, she had often followed behind Cat, watching her act like an explorer to find all sorts of interesting things.
However, she had to admit, Cat’s defensive awareness was actually quite good.
