Yin Lin was already the recognized Destruction Queen in the Human Alliance.
Once she was given the chance to strike, no one had yet been seen who could withstand her head-on.
Their mouths might be tough, but not a single person’s body could withstand her bombardment.
If the brown-robed man’s physical attributes were only 80% of a low-level abnormal demon, wouldn’t that be like delivering a snack to Yin Lin?
She killed low-level abnormal demons like she was slicing vegetables; what kind of trouble could a weaker brown-robed man cause?
The acting head of the Countermeasure Center was indeed anxious.
After seeing Yin Lin break free, he fell into a difficult hesitation.
Holding the microphone, he hadn’t yet decided whether to act.
Yin Lin could kill those people from the Star Summoning Society without a doubt.
The key was whether this seemingly cute girl dared to strike so ruthlessly.
If she killed them, important clues would be lost.
Should he order the special dispatch team to appear and rescue them now?
As a decision-maker, he still needed some composure, so he held back.
The three brown-robed men in the forest were clearly not the decision-makers; they were just small fry.
Catching them would only be a small win, not a major victory.
He decided to endure a little longer to see if he could fish out more valuable information.
His ability to calm down was partly due to the experts.
Several experts, including those in psychology, believed that Yin Lin’s personality was strong and rational, and she wouldn’t easily kill individual humans or humanoid creatures.
What did that mean?
If she used a fully charged magic cannon to attack an area and couldn’t see any humans, Yin Lin might be able to go through with it.
But if she were forced to kill a human at close range with a knife, she probably couldn’t.
At least, that was how the experts judged her.
They felt that Yin Lin wouldn’t be able to bring herself to deliver the killing blow when facing those three brown-robed men, so there was no need to rush the attack; they could wait a bit longer.
Huang Yi, however, had a different opinion. He knew Yin Lin could be ruthless.
‘Sister Lin looks like a cute girl next door, and sometimes she has a bit of a foul mouth, like a brat. But she has a very strong heart. She knows how to weigh pros and cons, and she might very well kill humanoids.’
The crowd at the Countermeasure Center watched the large screen tensely.
At that moment, Yin Lin had already escaped.
She crawled out of the suitcase looking quite disheveled.
Her whole body felt uncomfortable and limp, as if she couldn’t muster any strength.
Having been held in a curled position in such a cramped box for too long, her body felt as if it had been molded into shape by glue, unable to stretch out.
This situation cost her about 30 seconds.
She could only lie on the ground and begin charging her energy, starting with her magic cannon.
During this time, Green Field was still under continuous attack by the three brown-robed men.
She sensed Yin Lin’s magic, so she began talking to stall for time.
“Are you planning to kill me? *Cough, cough*.” While coughing, Green Field flew at a low altitude again, using the trees as cover.
The brown-robed man answered her loudly, “We don’t want to, but if you resist, we’ll have to kill you.”
“Those things you promised me at the beginning… you never intended to fulfill them, did you? It was just a lie,” Green Field said.
A shell from a Dark Light Cannon was fired her way.
She ducked behind a tree trunk, which blocked the projectile.
Just as she breathed a sigh of relief, another shell was fired from somewhere else.
She hurriedly left the spot and moved to a new location.
If she focused purely on defense, it would be difficult for the enemies to wound her.
The brown-robed man replied, “The promises made to you at the beginning were real. It’s just that we prioritize security. Since you deceived us, we will eliminate you to avoid all risk factors that might harm us.”
“Can you be responsible for these things? Are you the one making the decisions?” Green Field asked.
The brown-robed man denied it. “No, your actions were already anticipated by the Master. The Master knew you might do this, so a contingency plan to deal with you was prepared long ago.”
“You’re telling me so many things. What if I run away?” Green Field asked.
The brown-robed man didn’t speak, continuing to pursue Green Field.
If Green Field’s intelligence were even a little higher, she would have known there must be other traps at this time.
Everyone knew that the magical girl Green Field had strong flight capabilities.
If she were attacked and wanted to escape, she would definitely choose to flee through the air.
Since the brown-robed man wasn’t afraid of her running, it meant they had a way to deal with it.
Green Field hadn’t thought that much.
There were two reasons why she hadn’t run, both related to Yin Lin.
First, Yin Lin was still there and hadn’t escaped yet. Second, Yin Lin was currently charging her power.
It wasn’t because Green Field had seen through the enemy’s cards; it was just that she happened to be delayed by other matters.
After Yin Lin had been charging for over 1 minute, the brown-robed man seemed to be communicating with someone again, standing still for a moment.
When he moved again, he engaged in some unusual behavior.
He went to another spot dozens of meters away and pulled out a box previously hidden in the grass.
Inside was a weapon that looked very much like a recoilless rifle.
He shouldered the thing and ran quickly, looking for a suitable spot.
Green Field’s physical condition was poor.
She coughed constantly, was injured, and her flight speed was limited.
The brown-robed man was communicating remotely with his two teammates, arranging tactics.
Shouldering the recoilless rifle, he found a spot, squatted down, aimed at the low altitude, and waited.
The other two brown-robed people continued the chase, slowly driving Green Field toward this direction and leading her into a trap.
Although she was a bit wary, she still hadn’t guessed what the enemy intended to do.
She entered the brown-robed man’s range, and for a few seconds, she had no cover and was spotted.
The brown-robed man fired the recoilless rifle.
A large net emitting a dark light shot out, hitting Green Field.
She was wrapped in the large net, and her whole body began to convulse involuntarily, as if she had been electrocuted.
She fell from the air to the ground.
She couldn’t even open her magic shield.
She had used it before, and it wasn’t convenient to use now.
Even if the magic shield were available, she probably couldn’t have opened it anyway; her muscles were all out of control.
She convulsed in pain.
Just as the brown-robed men were about to surround her and pick her up, one of them looked up and showed a terrified expression.
A silver-haired girl was floating in the air, her messy silver hair fluttering in the wind.
Her golden eyes were like the oppressive eyes of a giant dragon from a fantasy story.
Her staff pointed at the two people on the ground, and a thick pillar of light struck down.
Because the distance was too close, the two could only barely manage a dive or a roll.
That was all.
The light pillar hit between them and exploded.
A milky white light, more than 30 meters in diameter, enveloped them and triggered a violent explosion.
Of course, this magic cannon wasn’t fully charged yet, and its power was far inferior to a full charge, but it was still enough to deal with low-level abnormal demons — let alone two guys who weren’t even as good as abnormal demons.
One of them couldn’t roll out of range, and his body was blown into small fragments by the continuous attacks.
The other was blown out of range, but he still became a mangled corpse, hardly recognizable as human.
After the magic cannon was fired, Yin Lin immediately began charging the Spear of Heaven.
Her entire body was filled with a murderous intent as she stared at the only surviving brown-robed man on the ground.
He had already reached the captured Green Field, and the muzzle of his Dark Light Cannon was pointed at the restrained girl. He clearly intended to use her as a hostage.
