Soon, the time arrived for the evening. After dinner, Lu Yunze finally knocked on the door of Jiang Sui’s room.
“Young Master?”
After opening the door, the Little Maid did not seem surprised by his arrival. She did not show a look of shock, but instead checked the time.
“You are later than I expected, Young Master.”
Tomorrow is Saturday, and Xia Youqing’s birthday happens to be tomorrow. If he had been any later, Jiang Sui would have started her journey home and would not have been able to keep waiting for him.
“Look at you, I definitely keep my word.”
Lu Yunze said, handing her a cake he had prepared earlier along with some expensive gifts he had bought.
“This is?”
Jiang Sui looked at the gifts he purchased and found that they were actually all wine.
“I went out for a walk today, and since I did not know what to get you all, I chose these.”
So that was why he went out.
Jiang Sui had originally planned to find a way to make him reveal the reason for his outing, but surprisingly, this fellow said it himself. That was fine; it saved her some energy.
“Young Master, I heard that many Police vehicles were seen on the streets today. That could not have anything to do with you, could it?”
“Huh? What, what? I do not really understand.”
Lu Yunze immediately started playing dumb, but his silly smile could not dispel the suspicion in everyone’s hearts.
“How could I possibly be involved in trouble? Look at me, I am so strong and powerful. Whoever dares to target me, I will treat them to a punch the size of a sandbag.”
He tightened his fist, his smile full of confidence.
“Is that so?” Jiang Sui’s expression was playful. “If I were to target you, Young Master, would you have the heart to strike me?”
As she spoke, she grabbed Lu Yunze’s wrist and placed his fist against her own lower abdomen, pressing it lightly.
This action truly frightened Lu Yunze, who quickly pulled his fist away and complained with a mutter:
“That is not funny at all.”
Seeing him flee in a panic, Jiang Sui’s narrowed, light purple eyes were full of amusement, as if she were admiring his back.
Closing the door, she leaned her back against the door panel, her small hand resting gently on the spot where Lu Yunze’s fist had touched.
To tell the truth, she was actually looking forward to the expression Lu Yunze would make if he were to strike her.
The result of accidental injury or even a moment of anger would surely make his entire face turn pale, would it not? He would surely show a panicked expression, maybe even be scared to the point of tears.
Thinking about that reaction alone made Jiang Sui feel “delicious.” Just feeling the pain through this body could be traded for so many things; it was very worth it.
With a “thump,” Jiang Sui sat down on the floor and closed her eyes.
Just as the girl was rubbing her stomach and letting out a sigh like a moan, a short cough interrupted her self-immersion.
The Black Cat had appeared on the bed at some point, staring at her with a strange gaze.
“Senior, I was just telling you—”
“Stop, stop, stop. I have zero interest in your strange thoughts.”
Jiang Sui walked over to the bedside. “That is too bad. I thought Senior would understand my way of thinking.”
“You would be better off thinking about how to get Lu Yunze to understand your way of thinking. You have been together for so long, and your thoughts still have not fully aligned with each other.”
“What do I need so much alignment for?” Jiang Sui’s lips curled up slightly. “All I want is Lu Yunze’s emotions, not his approval.”
The Black Cat muttered: “I really do not understand how you were born with such a way of thinking.”
Jiang Sui chuckled without answering. If she had to answer, it would probably be what is called Survival Instinct.
With the topic of Lu Yunze finished, the Black Cat appeared because her investigation had made progress.
“That Club you neutralized was just a decoy.”
“What?”
“Their true hideout is hidden elsewhere.”
The Black Cat’s words made Jiang Sui catch her breath. She had not expected that things would not end so quickly.
“So Senior, did you find their hideout?”
“Yes.” The Black Cat nodded.
It was rare to see her this determined. If she did not follow along, she felt she would lose out big time. Regardless, Jiang Sui was a victim herself; now that their hideout was found, she could not just leave it alone.
Call the Police? That is a method only children would use. For enemies like this, one must resolve the matter personally to sleep with peace of mind.
The girl and the cat looked at each other; everything was implied without words.

In the living room.
Luo Yao was still on the phone with Luo Tianyu.
“I said I am fine, Father, it really has nothing to do with me. Fine, fine, I understand. Father, you should get some rest at the Company too. I am not a child anymore, no need to be so concerned.”
Hanging up the phone, Luo Yao let out a sigh of relief and then looked up at Lu Yunze, who was sitting opposite her.
“Looks like we deceived him.”
“Yes, we tricked him.”
The two of them simultaneously picked up their water glasses and took a sip.
“Thank you, Brother Lu, for hiding this from my father for me. It would not be good if he were to worry.”
“I should thank you too, for not wanting to give Uncle Luo any trouble.”
After the incident at the Club ended, the two reached a consensus: neither wanted Luo Tianyu to know about this matter.
Luo Yao’s goal was simple; she just did not want Luo Tianyu to worry about her.
“Brother Lu, the next time you go out, could you take me with you if possible?”
“Silly girl, this time was just an accident.”
“Sigh, Brother Lu, you better be telling the truth.”
If not for Luo Yao, Lu Yunze likely would have suffered again after his control was broken, which made her worry the entire day.
However, fortunately, she would still listen to what Lu Yunze said, and she would not pester him forever.
Having finally sent Luo Yao away, Lu Yunze had just sat down when a figure appeared behind him.
“Young Master, the task you asked me to do has a result.”
It was Lin Ying. He had waited until Luo Yao left before appearing.
“One of the investing members of that Club has a highly suspicious identity.”
“Does he have a place he can use as a hideout?”
“Yes, a Bar that he owns himself.”
“I see.”
Lu Yunze nodded slightly.
There were still many suspicious points about this matter. Luo Yao felt that the matter was over, but Lu Yunze did not think so.
