Su Li, following her assistant’s reminder, arrived at the entrance of MOKA’s Villa.
Even without her assistant’s reminder, she knew where MOKA lived.
Standing at the door, Su Li knocked gently, but there was no response.
She continued to stand at the entrance, waiting patiently.
Since MOKA had already summoned her, and the assistant had brought her to the door, it proved that MOKA was definitely inside.
She waited.
Nearly ten minutes passed before Su Li knocked again.
Then half an hour went by.
She stood quietly at the stairwell outside MOKA’s door, not anxious at all.
Since MOKA would be paying her later, patiently waiting was only proper.
This was different from when she dealt with Xiao Yuyu.
With Xiao Yuyu, she provided emotional value, and apart from the occasional red envelope, there was no other compensation.
And in a sense, Xiao Yuyu didn’t even consider chatting with her a service.
Instead, Xiao Yuyu thought it was mutual.
She might even believe she was giving more herself.
Only after a long while did the door finally open slowly.
Though it was daytime, Su Li still stepped into the pitch-black room.
MOKA was curled up in a corner of the dim room, with a few blinding rays of light piercing through the thick Curtain.
It seemed that every time she met MOKA, it was always like this.
Her mental state was never good.
But this was perfectly normal—if MOKA’s condition was fine, Su Li doubted she’d need her services at all.
If she didn’t need her, who knew where MOKA would be—rejoicing elsewhere, no doubt. She must have other outlets for release than just Su Li.
That was what Su Li thought to herself; she didn’t care much about her client’s private life.
She only needed to provide her service when the client required it.
Of course, before providing services to MOKA, she had done a simple background check.
At least MOKA was someone who kept herself clean.
Su Li’s gaze fell on MOKA, who was curled up on the floor.
Her dry lips were bitten until they bled, and her dark circles looked like two inky stains that wouldn’t dissolve.
Her usually neat brown short hair was now messy and sticking out in all directions, with the tips clumped and stiff.
The Cell Phone had been vibrating on the coffee table for the past three minutes, the buzzing reminding her of the times Xiao Yuyu had sent her messages.
Su Li stood at the entrance, making no move to turn on the light.
Without MOKA’s order, she wouldn’t switch on the light.
Suddenly, MOKA grabbed a half-full Beer Bottle and hurled it at the wall; the sound of shattering glass startled the Cat by the sofa, making it leap onto the top of the cabinet.
Her fingers dug deeply into her hair, yanking hard, broken strands caught under her nails.
As Su Li entered, she saw MOKA’s throat force out a hoarse curse, though it was unclear whether she was cursing her Agent’s life-chasing messages or her own brain stuck at a bottleneck.
Sensing Su Li’s arrival, MOKA looked up, her gaze like an enraged wild beast.
She grabbed a handful of scattered Draft Paper from the floor and flung it in Su Li’s direction.
“So you still know to come!”
“You actually still know to come?”
“Do you know how long I’ve been waiting for you?”
After tossing the Draft Paper at Su Li, MOKA searched the surroundings again, found more sheets filled with crossed-out lyrics, and threw them at Su Li as well.
Still, she wasn’t satisfied.
She picked up another Beer Bottle from the floor and threw it toward Su Li.
The sound of shattering glass rang out again, shards flying everywhere.
“Are you stupid or what?”
“The Beer Bottle almost hit you and you didn’t even dodge?”
“What, trying to swindle more money from me?”
“Heh, no wonder you haven’t taken the initiative to contact me for so long.”
“Is it because I didn’t pay you enough?”
MOKA shouted in anger, the Beer Bottle exploding, her emotions still unable to calm.
Now that she saw Su Li, she felt an unexplainable rage in her chest.
“Are you deaf?!”
Her voice was hoarse, as if sandpaper scraping.
“Why aren’t you talking, or have you become mute after not seeing me for a while?”
“Do you know how many times I called?!”
The smell of alcohol filled the air. As MOKA got close to Su Li, her urgent breath carried the scent straight to Su Li’s face.
Su Li felt a sharp pain at her neck—MOKA had gripped her throat fiercely.
Su Li’s expression stayed calm; MOKA’s words at the end of their last meeting still echoed in her ears.
“If you have any ideas about me, I hope you weigh them carefully. Don’t do anything you’ll regret.”
But she was always someone who cared only for money, not for grudges.
As long as the payment was enough, and her principles weren’t violated, she never held grudges overnight.
A professional fake smile appeared on Su Li’s face as she apologized:
“Sorry.”
Providing services for MOKA, she would of course never blame her.
Unless MOKA tried to escape payment by blaming her for things that weren’t her fault, Su Li considered herself quite tolerant.
A bead of blood slid slowly down Su Li’s neck, leaving a crooked red trail on her pale skin, like melted wax dripping onto the collar of her dress.
The beige fabric absorbed the blood, blooming into coin-sized pink stains, edges tinged faintly rose, like the mark of a needle pricking a fingertip.
MOKA’s gaze fixed intently on the crimson at her pale neck. Her eyes suddenly grew focused, her rage slowly quieting.
She stuck out her pink tongue, staring at Su Li’s neck, then slowly licked up a bead of blood clinging there.
The taste of iron mixed with a strange sweetness spread beneath her teeth, like licking a rusty iron railing and then suddenly sucking on rock candy.
It was as if a door to a new world opened before her.
She bit down harder, deepening the marks; fresh blood flowed over her lips, staining the corners bright red, as if she had just sneaked a bite of strawberry jam and hadn’t wiped her mouth.
More blood trickled into Su Li’s collar, pooling in the creases of her skirt in a dark red puddle.
Suddenly, MOKA let go and laughed.
Her tongue traced Su Li’s neck, drawing a musical note there like a paintbrush.
“You, Su Li, really bring me such joy.”
MOKA’s laughter grew louder.
She didn’t know why, but Su Li kept surprising her again and again.
Only when the crimson faded from her tongue, leaving only saliva, did her rage flare up again.
MOKA bit Su Li’s neck once more, leaving a row of bright red crescent marks.
Because she was no vampire, the marks were only crescent-shaped.
Not until her hand pressed on Su Li’s shoulder slowly let go did MOKA, staring at the fresh blood at Su Li’s neck, lick the corner of her mouth and ask:
“Does it hurt?”
