“Gugu.”
The sound of her stomach growling made Miss Cat show an embarrassed expression.
She was currently digging Cat Food out of her own pocket, dividing it up, one for herself and one for each of the cats.
Miss Cat secretly glanced at Su Li, who was sleeping, then looked at herself, pondering whether she could carry Su Li back to her room.
But she soon gave up on the idea.
She was too tired right now—if she tried to carry Su Li and dropped her halfway, it wouldn’t be good.
If it had been her before taking this job, maybe carrying Su Li wouldn’t have been a problem.
“Are you hungry?”
Su Li’s calm voice sounded beside Miss Cat’s ear.
Miss Cat was still thinking about how to help Su Li sleep more comfortably, but Su Li had already woken up and was heading toward the Kitchen.
It wasn’t long before Su Li returned, holding Cat Food and Bread in her hands.
“The Living Room has already been cleaned. Is there anywhere else you need me to clean?”
Miss Cat looked at Su Li as she asked, but her gaze was firmly fixed on the Cat Food in Su Li’s hands.
Actually, she could guess why there were paints in Su Li’s room.
After all, she’d seen Su Li at the Art Museum that afternoon.
Maybe the paints were needed for Su Li’s work.
Her own Miss Cat’s Pooper-Scooper often worked from home, and clients would sometimes make the room messy.
But even so, her Pooper-Scooper would never let it affect her living environment.
She could actually feel it—in her dreams, when she became a cat, she really wanted to help her Pooper-Scooper earn money.
Now she’d saved up quite a bit, but she still didn’t know how to help her Pooper-Scooper.
Back in the dream, she’d turn into that same cat again.
But she could never find a way to help her Pooper-Scooper.
“Cat Food or Bread?”
Su Li placed both the Cat Food and Bread in front of Miss Cat, and it didn’t take long for Miss Cat to make her decision.
“Can I have the Cat Food?”
“This… it must be really expensive, right?”
She spoke softly, glancing at the cats lounging on the sofa, her eyes full of envy.
It must be such a happy thing to be Su Li’s cat.
You can fill your belly, and have Su Li by your side.
Su Li is so much like her own Pooper-Scooper…
When Su Li put the Cat Food into her hand, Miss Cat’s body trembled slightly, her nose stinging with emotion.
“Th-thank you.”
Su Li closed the Order, looked at the spotless room, and apologized:
“Sorry, I just fell asleep.”
“It’s fine! This is what I’m supposed to do!”
Miss Cat replied, while a message notification sounded from her Cell Phone, indicating the Order was completed.
She hurriedly took out her Cell Phone, its screen full of cracks, anxiously waiting for the network to load, hoping to refund Su Li some money.
“I—I’ll send some back to you!”
“Actually, I shouldn’t have taken this Order.”
“It’s just that the person who was supposed to take it had something come up, so they transferred the Order to me.”
“If you’re not an official employee, you don’t get as much money.”
Miss Cat spoke seriously. Noticing Su Li watching her, she grew more anxious at the slowly spinning network icon.
“No need, just cleaning the room is enough. It doesn’t matter whether you’re that employee or not!”
“Besides, I originally wanted to help you out a bit anyway.”
Su Li spoke calmly; the way Miss Cat acted reminded her so much of her past self.
Back then, she, too, brought her own cats around working various odd jobs, always busy, always acting meek and humble.
She used to feel inferior about everything.
“Eat something first and fill your stomach. Afterward, I’ll take you home.”
“Or, if you want, you can stay at my place for the night.”
Su Li said this, and Miss Cat looked at her, then glanced at the cats nuzzling around her, then at the spacious room, lowered her head, and stuffed the Cat Food into her mouth.
Almost as if she wanted to ease her own feelings of inferiority.
“I-I won’t trouble you anymore.”
“I can go home by myself.”
“It’s really fine!”
Miss Cat spoke earnestly, looking at Su Li and waving her little fist.
“I’m actually pretty tough!”
Seeing the sparkle in Miss Cat’s eyes, Su Li remembered her, standing by the door trembling, holding pepper spray tightly, full of nerves.
“I’ll tidy up a room for you. You can stay at my place for tonight.”
“As long as you tidy the room tomorrow morning, that’ll be fine.”
Su Li said, and Miss Cat lowered her head, hands clenching her clothes tightly.
She nodded, remaining silent, just stuffing more Cat Food into her mouth.
“You can take a bath, since you’ve just finished working. I’ll get you some clothes.”
After helping Miss Cat tidy up a room and boiling water, Su Li looked at Miss Cat, who sat stiffly on the sofa.
She thought it was perfectly normal for Miss Cat to feel nervous and uncomfortable about staying the night.
After all, it was so late, and as a “friend,” Su Li didn’t feel right letting Miss Cat go home alone—she’d be worried about her safety.
Su Li thought about it—in normal times, she wouldn’t be so considerate.
Usually, once she’d left the choice to someone, she wouldn’t care further.
Maybe it was because she didn’t have many friends herself.
In the past, she was always busy working various jobs with her cats, making money.
Then, when she woke up again, she’d arrived in this world.
She’d even lost her emotions as a “human.”
Su Li went into the room’s Wardrobe and picked out a few pieces of clothing that would fit Miss Cat, placing them on the rack in the Bathroom so Miss Cat could change after cleaning up.
There were plenty of clothes in Bai Huizi’s Wardrobe that would fit, so it wasn’t much of an issue for Miss Cat to wear them.
“You can go clean up and get some good rest now.”
Su Li looked at the still stiff Miss Cat sitting on the sofa.
Unlike others, she didn’t play with her Cell Phone.
She just sat there, lost in thought.
“Th-thank you!”
Hearing Su Li’s words, Miss Cat quickly put the Cat Food on the table, stood up, and headed toward the Bathroom.
“I’ve prepared a toothbrush and everything else you need.”
“Mm, mm, thank you!”
Miss Cat thanked her again and darted into the Bathroom.
Su Li looked at the cracked Cell Phone on the sofa and felt a bit of heartache.
Last time, she hadn’t looked closely.
The model of the Cell Phone seemed familiar—it was the same kind she used while working her previous job.
Her old phone back then…
Wasn’t it also covered in cracks?
