“Aiya, what bad luck~”
Ps·ycho was wandering alone through the rainforest at night. Not even the nocturnal beasts prowling the woods took notice of her presence. Like an invisible specter, only the occasional crunch beneath her feet proved she had ever passed by.
Though she kept herself concealed at all times, she no longer dared approach the mountain summit recklessly.
That tentacled magical girl’s abilities were far too unpredictable. Until she figured things out, it was best not to appear before her at all.
Ps·ycho had already decided not to get involved in this operation any further. She was even suppressing her restless heart, keeping her distance from her beloved Pure White Storm-sama.
Right now, all she wanted was to be a bystander munching on popcorn, waiting for Solar Storm to quiet down before slipping away from this resort.

But she never expected that even by watching the show, she could still get noticed.
Should she say—brains over brawn, as expected?
Not long ago, Azure Cavalier of the same Sigma Series had apparently discovered her by some means and even tried to catch up to her.
“No, perhaps I should call it luck?”
As it turned out, that guy was caught and devoured by Pr·edator, who had been lying in wait for just such an opportunity, claiming the first achievement of this operation.
He hadn’t even had a chance to fight back.
Granted, none of the team besides Pure White Storm were really her type, but he was quite a looker. To be “devoured” by a beast like Pr·edator, who had no idea how to savor a man… who knows what would happen to him~
Still, this victory was inevitable.
There was absolutely no way for the Sigma Series to defeat Pr·edator.
“She should be thanking me—at the very least, she shouldn’t glare at me anymore.”
Alone, Ps·ycho habitually muttered to herself.
She had created the opportunity for her to act, which at least made up for the losses she’d caused during the day.
“I never thought she’d insist on going ahead with tonight’s operation after losing so many rabbits… She’s so impatient, even though there’s still a week left to prepare.”
Because she had crushed her own phone, Ps·ycho didn’t even have anything to kill time with. All she could do was loiter around the resort, her main entertainment now watching the resort staff play mahjong, or napping in vacant guest rooms.
Of course, she remained invisible the entire time.
“Speaking of rabbits, the area they can move around on the island is getting smaller and smaller. Both the heroes and the island’s security seem to be searching for the rabbit nests… She really can’t wait any longer.”
Thousands upon thousands of Moon Rabbits might be terrifying, but if they couldn’t gather in force, they wouldn’t be much of a threat. At least for now, a hundred or so rabbits posed no danger to the heroes—especially with the security team’s firepower added in.
Hmm, she’d need at least a thousand Moon Rabbits ready before they could destroy the whole resort and the heroes.
There was enough food on the island, but not enough time.
As for the heroes’ side, they must be troubled by Azure Cavalier’s death.
But soon, they’d be preparing their counterattack.
How did she plan to hide herself?
And after “devouring” a hero, what would Pr·edator do next?
Compared to all this, Ps·ycho’s own worries seemed insignificant.
“So, where should I sleep tonight?”
The hideout in the air raid shelter was definitely off-limits now.
Looks like she’d have to make do with an empty guest room tonight. There were still dozens of unoccupied cabins at the resort—so long as she didn’t turn on the main lights, no one would notice her sneaking in.
“Sigh, do I really have to live like this for another week?”
Pure White Storm-sama, she’d probably still sleep with that little girl tonight, right?
Sigh, who would have thought the hero she fancied was actually a lolicon? Did that mean she’d never have a chance in this life?
Ps·ycho was actually pretty confident in her own figure. What a pity.
“Hmm?”
Just as she reached the foot of the mountain, a tour bus stopped right in front of her.
Of course, no one could possibly see her. Was it a resort staff member?
No…
This girl in a white lab coat was one of that little girl’s attendants.
A normal human—if Ps·ycho wanted, a single flick of her claw-tipped fingers could slice her into pieces, silent and unseen…
But there was no need.
Pr·edator had asked her not to interfere in this matter, and she intended to keep her word.
Come to think of it, this company was really strange.
Their hero was a magical girl, yet her support staff were a lab coat-wearing researcher and a mechanic with a wrench.
Usually, shouldn’t a magical girl’s support be a jewel craftsman?
“I’ll be there soon, don’t wrap up the meeting without me.”
The girl had an earpiece in, apparently on a call with someone up the mountain.
‘I’ve thought of a way to deal with those rabbits!’
Oh?
Ps·ycho hadn’t planned to approach the summit, since this operation had nothing to do with her. She’d just treat herself like the air.
Still, Fran’s words piqued her interest.
Dealing with the Moon Rabbits meant dealing with Pr·edator.
She wasn’t about to warn Pr·edator, but she still wanted to know what Fran was planning.
Ps·ycho and Pr·edator had always been at odds. If there really was a way to handle the latter, how could she not be curious?
Fran hurried up the stone steps, panting for breath;
Ps·ycho followed her with ease, showing not the slightest hint of exhaustion.
Even though the southern slope was a gentle incline, it was still tough to run all the way to the top—at least for a JK Doctor who barely exercised. It was nearly impossible to make it up all at once.
“Huff, I can’t run anymore.”
She plopped herself down on the stone steps at a platform.
“I’ll just say it here.”
Ps·ycho was pleased—now she wouldn’t even have to go all the way to the summit.
After catching her breath, Fran finally spoke: “I examined the sample of the captured Moon Rabbit. They’re actually very weak against viruses and bacteria. Even though they dig through trash heaps all the time, they get infected really easily…”
Viruses, huh?
Not hard to understand—after all, there are no viruses on the moon’s surface.
When they were modifying the original Moon Rabbits, no one bothered to adapt them for so many kinds of viruses, so of course they didn’t build up the necessary resistance.
Fran continued, “They reproduce and evolve rapidly. Once the parent generation is killed off by bacteria or viruses, the next generation is born with antibodies… In other words, they use their lives to adapt to the ecosystem under the dome, including the sea and the landfill.”
Quick death, quick breeding, quick iterations, quick evolution.
These Moon Rabbits really were a hasty species.
“So, dealing with them is actually very simple.
“Let just one Moon Rabbit carry a virus with a 100% fatality rate back to the nest, and let the whole group die before they can have offspring. Then this improved Moon Rabbit tribe will naturally go extinct!”
Fran drew her injector pistol from her thigh holster and spun it around her finger.
“I’ve already synthesized the virus.”
The green liquid inside the injector glinted with a dangerous light under the moonlight shining through the dome.
Even Ps·ycho couldn’t help but take two steps back, afraid Fran might lose her grip and drop that injector.
Even she held a basic respect for viruses.
“The rules of victory are already set. Now… all I need is a rabbit!”
So, where could they find such an unlucky rabbit?
I don’t think that’s how immunology exactly works. The faster and more.lethal.the disease, the worse.it spreads
