“Congratulations on killing a Level 1 monster Zombie. Current experience 5/5. Congratulations on leveling up…”
As the voice echoed in his mind, Lin Mo’s eyes lit up-he had finally leveled up again.
Eagerly, he checked his current stats.

His attributes had doubled!
Lin Mo’s eyes widened in disbelief.
Leveling up was this powerful?
With this boost, he now possessed the strength of two men.
Even that obese zombie from earlier would be no match for him now.
Testing his newfound power, he swung his arm and felt an overwhelming surge of strength.
A single punch to the wall left cracks spiderwebbing across its surface.
“This…”
Lin Mo’s sudden action startled the others.
They gaped at the fractured wall, jaws slack.
“Lin Mo, you…”
Zhou Kai stared at him in awe.
This was unreal.
Was he even human anymore?
“I don’t know what happened either. It’s like my strength just… increased suddenly,” Lin Mo shook his head, feigning confusion.
Zhang Yu frowned.
What did he mean by “suddenly increased”?
But it was true Lin Mo hadn’t displayed this level of combat prowess before…
The apocalypse must hold many mysteries we’ve yet to uncover, he mused silently.
Regardless, Lin Mo’s newfound strength was a boon.
The group regarded him with even greater reverence as he retrieved the axe from the zombie’s corpse, rinsed it with water, and set it aside.
They then scavenged the room for supplies.
True to the boy’s earlier claim, the dormitory was stocked with snacks, instant noodles, and even soda.
Ravenous, the group descended upon the food, stuffing their mouths indiscriminately without care for taste.
After half an hour, their frenzy gradually subsided, leaving plenty of provisions untouched.
Lin Mo glanced at the sky-it was likely mid-afternoon now.
Delaying further would risk traveling in the dangerous darkness.
“Pack the remaining food. We should move out,” Lin Mo announced.
Nodding in agreement, they stuffed the supplies into backpacks found in the dorm and prepared to depart.
Lin Mo hefted the axe again, testing its weight.
What had once felt slightly heavy now seemed featherlight.
With his current stats, he was confident he could effortlessly take down three zombies at once.
Wasting no more time, they cautiously exited the dormitory.
A lone zombie lurked nearby, which Lin Mo dispatched with a casual swing.
Eliminating solitary zombies had become as easy as slicing melons for the newly empowered Lin Mo.
As they navigated the campus paths, they encountered only a few scattered zombies, all swiftly dealt with by Lin Mo.
“Something feels… off,” Zhang Yu muttered, brow furrowed.
“What is it?”
Zhou Kai asked immediately.
“The number of zombies seems unusually low…” Zhang Yu said.
“When we looked down from upstairs earlier, there were definitely more than this. Even the hallway just now had barely any zombies…”
“Isn’t that a good thing? We’re less than half a kilometer away from Teaching Building A,” the male student replied.
“But where did all those zombies go?”
Zhang Yu frowned deeply.
Hearing their conversation, Lin Mo also grew concerned.
However, they were still on the move, and he didn’t have time to dwell on these thoughts.
Who knew if a moment’s distraction might lead to a zombie ambush?
