Chapter 14: Level Up Again

“Lin Mo…” 

With no other choice, Zhou Kai could only turn his gaze toward Lin Mo.

Lin Mo fell into silence. 

For him, going up wasn’t particularly difficult-even if there were Zombies, he wasn’t afraid. 

But was it really worth it? 

As Zhang Yu had said, judging by Wang Jie’s earlier reactions, bringing him along would only be a burden. 

At any moment, he might scream in terror at the sight of a Zombie, attracting more and getting them all killed.

In the end, Lin Mo said nothing else and simply walked toward the dormitory management office. 

His meaning was clear. The other three exchanged glances, remaining silent. 

Zhou Kai’s expression was visibly conflicted, while a faint smile played on Zhang Yu’s lips. 

If Lin Mo had clung to naive compassion, it would have given Zhang Yu a headache. 

After all, given the current situation, Lin Mo was undoubtedly the strongest among them. 

Zhang Yu needed Lin Mo to survive and reach the safe zone safely. 

If Lin Mo had insisted on going up, Zhang Yu wouldn’t have been in a position to argue.

The dormitory management office was also free of Zombies, and Lin Mo smoothly retrieved the keys.

“Now, which dorm should we go to?” 

Lin Mo frowned as he looked at the row of rooms. Who knew which one had food?

“Um… I know one dorm that has food…” 

The boy spoke up. 

“Wang Kang always loved eating. His room is usually stocked with food.”

“Oh?” 

Lin Mo raised an eyebrow. 

“Which one is his?”

“That one-Room 103.” 

The boy pointed.

“Then let’s open that one.” 

Lin Mo started toward it but suddenly paused, turning back to grab the fire axe before inserting the key into the lock.

With the sound of the door opening, Lin Mo warily peered inside then immediately recoiled.

Inside stood an abnormally obese Zombie, its arms thicker than Lin Mo’s thighs.

“It’s Wang Kang!” the boy gasped in a hushed voice.

At the same time, data about the creature appeared in Lin Mo’s mind.

Lin Mo was stunned. 

This Zombie’s strength was 1.4-nearly 50% higher than an average person’s. 

Its constitution was also 1.3, but its agility was shockingly low.

The Zombie’s reaction seemed unusually slow. 

Several seconds after Lin Mo opened the door, it finally noticed them and let out a deep growl before lumbering forward. 

Its movements were sluggish but carried a terrifying weight, as if the ground trembled slightly with each step.

“Be careful!”

Lin Mo warned, backing away. 

He had no intention of testing how terrifying 1.4 strength could be.

This Zombie couldn’t be fought head-on. 

He needed another plan.

After a brief pause, Lin Mo’s eyes hardened. 

Gripping the axe, he hurled it with full force at the Zombie’s head.

“Swish-!” 

A crisp sound rang out, followed by the sight of the axe deeply embedding itself into the Zombie’s skull. 

The Zombie staggered forward a few steps before collapsing motionless, its massive body hitting the ground with a resounding thud that sent vibrations through the area.

“Is it really over just like that?” 

The young man looked at Lin Mo in disbelief, waves of astonishment surging in his heart.

At the same time, a voice echoed in Lin Mo’s mind.

“Congratulations on slaying a level 1 monster Zombie. Current experience: 5/5. Congratulations, you have leveled up…”
