Estelle glanced at Elqi standing before her.
The girl wore a long dress in shades of brown and pale gray, adorned with bright blue jewels that gave her an overall harmonious and natural aura.
Her light brown hair was braided into two neat plaits, and on her delicate face sat a pair of black-framed round glasses.
She carried a heavy black leather satchel slung over one shoulder, perfectly embodying the image of an intellectual young lady immersed in books.
Compared to those noble ladies who flaunted their beauty with extravagant and ostentatious attire, this girl named Elqi had a temperament that set her distinctly apart.
“Hello…”
Estelle gave a slight nod, acknowledging the greeting.
Elqi did not seem displeased by the faint response; instead, she smiled genuinely in return. Her gaze shifted from Estelle to Rosily.
At that moment, Rosily had already hurried up to Elqi’s side, taking her hand and pulling her toward the hall.
Seeing this, the female teacher who was leading the way exclaimed,
“Ah? Miss Rosily, you haven’t registered yet…”
Rosily turned back to look at Estelle, her smile radiant and voice lively as she called out,
“I’m just going to hang out with my friend. Please take care of the registration for me, sister~”
Estelle nodded calmly.
Rosily noticed Estelle’s usual indifferent reaction and found it boring, so she withdrew her gaze and pulled Elqi along.
Her so-called elder sister seemed utterly unjealous, no matter how much Rosily showed off in front of her—it was like punching cotton, completely ineffective.
Rosily felt an indescribable frustration.
Elqi sensed the subtle tension between the two sisters, a flicker of confusion crossing her eyes.
She glanced back at that elder sister and began to wonder what kind of situation existed in Rosily’s family.
Noble families were often tangled with complicated relationships.
Elqi’s aunt and her own maternal aunt had an unusually close relationship.
Once, she even caught her aunt fondling her maternal aunt’s backside!
Her maternal aunt was blushing deeply…
Her aunt’s husband had already passed away, and she was now a young widow. To ensure Elqi kept quiet about the incident, they had given her quite a few benefits.
This revelation shocked Elqi greatly but also opened a new world to her.
The female teacher saw Rosily run off and grimaced deeply, the pain etched on her face apparent, but she dared not forcibly call back the two girls who were getting farther away.
Fortunately, Estelle did not follow.
The teacher awkwardly said to Estelle,
“Shall I take you there first, then?”
Estelle nodded, her pale golden eyes briefly glancing at the departing figures of the two girls. She actually wasn’t angry about being left behind by her younger sister.
The registration process was not complicated at all; in fact, it was very simple. Estelle followed the female teacher into an office.
Then, the teacher leaned over and whispered a few words to the middle-aged man sitting there.
The man, who had looked somewhat displeased before, immediately broke into a joyful smile.
Estelle waited a moment, and the entire registration was done—this was the backdoor method. Incidentally, the teacher had also helped register Rosily.
Estelle looked at the two badges in her hands, each bearing the Crimson Crest.
She was stunned for a moment before placing them into her Spatial Ring, preparing to find Rosily and hand over the school badge that belonged to her sister.
Meanwhile, Rosily and Elqi arrived at a place they both knew well.
The library, though it hadn’t opened yet.
They did not enter through the main door but instead went around to the side of the library.
Walking along the wall for a while, they came to a bare patch of ground.
Elqi expertly scattered seeds and recited a spell that accelerated plant growth.
A vine sprouted from the ground, climbing up the wall, eventually reaching the windowsill on the second floor.
That spot was about seven meters above the ground.
Elqi approached the vine and grasped it with both hands, preparing to climb up the hardened vine.
Just then, Rosily suddenly hugged her from behind.
“Eh?”
The girl gasped in surprise, then suddenly felt a strong upward force.
In a blur, they were more than three meters above the ground. Holding Elqi, Rosily managed to leap up to the windowsill in just three jumps.
“Rosily, couldn’t you have told me you were going to do that?” Elqi said as she was gently set down.
Her cheeks flushed faintly, and she tidied her slightly disheveled dress and the bangs that had fallen across her forehead.
While she was gathering herself, Rosily had already pushed open the unlocked door and walked into the darkened second floor of the library.
The second floor was the reading area, furnished with numerous seats.
Usually, very few came here; often Elqi would be the only one, making a hidden corner her personal secret base.
The two sat on a sofa, Elqi looking at the dim library and softly said,
“Maybe this place will get lively in the future.”
“Would you be unhappy about that?”
Rosily turned to look at Elqi.
This place had been hers alone, a quiet life just for herself, so having others intrude couldn’t possibly make her happy.
“I guess… maybe not…”
Elqi forced a smile. That question was difficult to answer.
The two fell silent.
After a while, Elqi turned to Rosily and asked,
“Do you dislike that sister?”
Rosily didn’t answer.
Instead, she lay back on the sofa, resting her head on Elqi’s lap, closing her eyes to steady her breathing.
Elqi straightened her chest.
Much later, Rosily opened her orange-red eyes and spoke in a faint voice,
“I can’t beat her. I’ve lost so many times.”
“Can’t… can’t beat her?”
Surprise flickered across Elqi’s face.
From her perspective, Rosily’s talent was among the very top—a body stronger than her peers, terrifying magical perception, and a terrifying ability to learn.
How could someone like her lose to others?
Elqi’s curiosity about the silver-haired girl grew even stronger.
At this moment, the silver-haired girl was walking through the campus, searching for Rosily’s trace.
But she didn’t ask or call out; instead, she used her eyes and magical perception to scan for lingering traces of aura—an almost impossible way to find someone.
Estelle kept walking.
A middle-aged man with medium-length hair suddenly blocked her path.
It was Swordsman Alvin, the very person who had once said he would teach Rosily swordsmanship.
He stared at Estelle with wide eyes.
“Have I seen you somewhere before?”
“Yes, yes, yes…”
“Maybe… about nine years ago, I saw you right here!”
Estelle tilted her head, not understanding what he meant, and tried to sidestep Alvin to continue following Rosily’s trail.
But Alvin stepped in front of her again.
“Little girl, what’s your name?”
“Where’s your mother? Or your sister?”
“I absolutely saw a little girl who looked exactly like you nine years ago!”
Alvin was unusually excited.
Estelle’s expression froze for a moment when he said “exactly like you.”
She lifted her pale golden eyes to look at Alvin.
“Really?”
Her ethereal voice seemed to bring Alvin back to that moment.
He had once stopped that girl and insisted on teaching her swordsmanship, but she refused.
Alvin nodded, very certain.
“I’m telling the truth.”
Estelle’s pupils constricted, but her eyes soon dimmed.
“She’s my mother. Do you know where she went?”
Alvin was stunned.
How could he possibly know?
Moreover, that girl’s child was already so big? Had she gone back to her hometown to marry after leaving Redwood City? Otherwise, how could she explain a child already at school age?
Or perhaps, even further, the child was conceived back then…
Estelle avoided Alvin’s tangled thoughts again.
This time Alvin did not pursue her, watching her leave while continuing his own musings.
“She already has a child…”
“Really has a child.”
“Ah, she already has a child.”
Back then, that little girl’s child was already this big.
Alvin had been a lone wanderer for over forty years, yet still hadn’t found a disciple to teach swordsmanship.
Enya dismounted from the carriage.
After bidding farewell to the butler, she returned to her bedroom and summoned a clone of herself—Phil.
She looked at the beautiful lady before her and said,
“Take good care of our two daughters while I’m gone. I’m heading to White Stone City now.”
“On a business trip? Remember to come back soon.”
Phil didn’t pay much attention. She sat down on the bed, even lying sideways, looking at Enya’s back—especially at the tail swaying rhythmically.
“You’ve grown meat on your tail.”
Hearing this, Enya twitched the corner of her mouth.
She turned and shot Phil a glance, then walked to the door and said,
“Handle Henna for me. Remember to lift the Bloodline Lock restriction from her. Take care of all the big and small troubles, and don’t forget to synchronize information with me every day. Also…”
“Alright, alright. If you’re leaving, just go.”
Phil seemed impatient, as if she had plenty to do that Enya’s body couldn’t manage.
Enya took a deep breath and held back her irritation.
“Also, don’t cause me any trouble!”
“Relax~”
Phil covered her mouth, her beautiful blue eyes narrowing into slits.
“Do I seem like that kind of person? If you don’t trust me, don’t you trust yourself? After all, we’re one and the same. How could I possibly bring trouble upon myself?”
Enya snorted lightly, then used the Dream Barrier to teleport to the border.
The silver-black earrings that peeked through her silver hair glowed.
A sturdy set of armor enveloped the Dragon Princess.
She spread the pair of dragon wings on her back and soared high into the sky.
Then, she flew toward White Stone City.
