The midday sunlight shone through the transparent glass of the Temple, then through the glass onto the cotton velvet bed where Yisela lay.
Her entire body was still sprawled face-down on the soft big bed, sleeping soundly.
Her head was buried in a particularly fluffy pillow, and her cute little dragon tail was lazily curled around a velvet cushion by the bed.
She was sleeping with her limbs spread out in all directions, without even a hint of the self-awareness that she was supposed to be here to receive punishment.
Her little lips smacked gently twice, and the sleep talk that came out of her mouth was too slurred to understand.
“Cake…!”
“It’s all mine…!”
Just as Yisela was enjoying herself, the door to the room suddenly let out a creak, and then it was pushed open.
The person who walked in was Sylvanas.
She was wearing a dark green form-fitting outfit, and her entire posture looked very upright.
She had originally come to urge Yisela to reflect properly on herself, but when her gaze fell on this little silver dragon lying on the bed without any decorum, several veins instantly popped up on her forehead, and the pressure around her whole body dropped.
This wasn’t at all about coming to the Temple to atone for sins and receive punishment—it was clearly coming to enjoy life and act like an ancestor!
Sylvanas quickly walked to the bedside, her brows and eyes full of disgust and anger. Without another word, she used her long, slender fingers to directly grab hold of Yisela’s drooping dragon ear, then pulled it with a bit of force.
“Mmph!”
Yisela was sleeping soundly. At that moment, her body suddenly gave a violent shudder. A sharp, piercing pain shot through her ear, instantly yanking her out of her beautiful dream full of cake.
She wrinkled her small face, her eyes not even open yet, but already wincing in pain. Her little body twisted desperately, and a series of aggrieved and irritable whimpers came out of her mouth.
“Ow!”
“Let go!”
“Who is it!”
“Looking for death!”
Yisela threw open her eyelids. Her ruby-like eyes were still misty with sleep. But when she saw clearly that the person in front of her was actually Sylvanas, her drowsiness vanished completely in an instant.
A raging fire ignited in the depths of her eyes, and her innate arrogant Little Miss Brat nature exploded fully.
She struggled desperately, waving her short little arms wildly, as if she wanted to bite her. Her voice came out sharp and furious:
“Sylvanas!”
“You—you old woman!”
“Let go of my ear!”
“It hurts so much!”
Sylvanas raised an eyebrow, but she didn’t loosen her grip at all. Instead, she gave a slight tug.
Her tone was icy cold, with a hint of teasing mockery.
“Oh?”
“After sleeping the whole morning, have you already forgotten that you’re here to be punished?”
“Is the precept of the Holy Light Cathedral meant for you to sleep all day and do nothing?”
“What punishment am I supposed to receive!”
“I didn’t do anything wrong to begin with!”
Yisela’s little face was flushed red with anger, tears swirling in her eyes, but she remained stubborn.
“Stop meddling in my business!”
“This is Sister Saintess’s place—you get back to your Elven Forest!”
“Don’t get in my way here and delay me from going to find Sister Saintess after I wake up!”
“Delay you?”
Sylvanas snorted, her eyes full of amusement.
“What if I just don’t leave?”
“You ungrateful little thing—before, you were shouting about killing us, but now you’re all ‘Sister Saintess’ this and ‘Sister Saintess’ that. You’re really cozying up to her.”
She bent down, leaning close to Yisela’s face, and said in a slow, teasing tone:
“What’s the matter?”
“You only get close to the Saintess, and you’re so hostile to me?”
“How about this: you obediently call me ‘Sister’ too, and I’ll let you go and never bother you again. How about it?”
“Who wants to call you sister!”
Yisela’s whole body bristled. She twisted her head desperately to dodge Sylvanas’s hand, and her short legs kicked wildly, putting on a fierce expression as if she was ready to fight.
“You vicious old woman!”
“I will never call you sister in this life!”
“For you, I only have hatred, and there’s also—”
At that moment, Yisela’s voice suddenly rose to a screech. She gathered all her strength, tensed her short legs, and kicked fiercely at Sylvanas. Shouting in a fury, she roared:
“Flying dragon kick!”
“Get out of my way!”
Sylvanas’s eyes shifted slightly. She instinctively let go and stepped back, but the little thing still managed to kick the hem of her clothes.
She looked at Yisela, who was flailing wildly like an angry little milk dragon, and felt both angry and amused. Her face darkened.
“Fine, you ungrateful Little Miss Brat. Looks like I was really too nice to you just now!”
“I’m ungrateful!”
“What can you do about it!”
“If you’ve got the guts, don’t dodge!”
Yisela covered her ear that had been pulled red, glaring fiercely at Sylvanas, her little chest heaving with anger.
“If you touch me again, I’ll bite your wrist!”
“And I’ll tie your pointy elf ears into a bow!”
“Oh?”
“I’d like to see if you actually have the ability to do that.”
Sylvanas took a step forward, and a faint nature magic began to emanate from her, clearly meaning to teach this little silver dragon a proper lesson.
Just as the atmosphere between them became tense and sword-like, the door to the room was gently pushed open again.
In walked Seraphina.
She was carrying a plate of freshly baked honey mini-cakes.
As soon as she saw the tense scene in the room, she sighed softly in helplessness.
“You two, as soon as you see each other, you start fighting. Can’t you be just a little bit more peaceful?”
The moment Yisela saw Seraphina, she immediately acted as if she had found her protector.
Her eyes instantly reddened. She scrambled off the bed, pounced over, and hugged Seraphina tightly around the waist, burying her face in Seraphina’s skirt.
Her voice was both wronged and fierce:
“Sister Saintess!”
“She’s bullying me!”
“She pulled my ear!”
“And she threatened me!”
“Hurry up and kick this old woman out!”
Sylvanas’s forehead twitched again. She crossed her arms and sneered.
“Me, bullying you?”
“Which one of us was sleeping until the sun was high in the sky without a hint of remorse?”
“And which one of us couldn’t open her mouth without saying ‘old woman’ and close it without saying ‘flying dragon kick’?”
“I think you’ve been having too good a time.”
“I didn’t do anything wrong to begin with!”
Yisela stuck her head out from behind Seraphina’s skirt and made a big face at Sylvanas.
“It’s you who’s petty!”
“You hold grudges!”
“And you bully the weak!”
“Only Sister Saintess has a kind heart—unlike you, who’s narrow-minded!”
Seraphina gently patted Yisela’s back, soothing her with a soft voice.
Then she looked up at Sylvanas standing there, her tone carrying a hint of helpless insistence.
“She’s still young, her body is weak, and her curse hasn’t stabilized yet. Don’t keep getting angry with her, and don’t scare her by using force.”
“Me, scare her?”
Sylvanas pointed at her own nose, both exasperated and amused.
“Saintess, get it straight, okay? Right now, she’s the one climbing on my nose and calling me ‘old woman’ nonstop.”
Seraphina looked down at the furious little silver dragon in her arms. She gently tapped her nose with her fingertip.
“Don’t be rude to Sylvanas anymore. She’s doing this for your own good.”
“I don’t want her to be good for me…!”
Yisela muttered quietly, but under Seraphina’s gentle gaze, she slowly restrained her hostility. Still, she turned her face away defiantly and gave Sylvanas a harsh snort.
“At most, I won’t call you names anymore. But don’t expect me to call you sister. That’s impossible.”
Sylvanas looked at her—stubborn in words but already softening inside—and then at Seraphina, who was protecting her. In the end, she sighed in resignation.
She waved her hand, her tone still impatient but without real anger.
“Forget it. I can’t be bothered to argue with a Little Miss Brat like you.”
Only then did Seraphina show a slight smile. She placed the plate of cakes by the bed, picked up a soft cake, and held it to Yisela’s mouth.
“Hungry, right?”
“These are freshly baked. Eat something first, and no more fighting.”
Yisela immediately forgot the quarrel. She opened her mouth and took a big bite of the cake, puffing out her cheeks with a satisfied expression.
Her little dragon tail swayed lightly in Sylvanas’s direction, clearly showing off.
That little thing was going to drive her to death sooner or later.
