“Oh? It’s you…”
Lin Mo had just reached the second floor when he saw Song Xue’er coming up the stairs.
Spotting Lin Mo, she immediately greeted him.
“Why did you come down? I was just about to look for you…”
Song Xue’er wiped her sweat as she spoke.
“I also have something to discuss with you,” Lin Mo replied with a smile.
“What did you want to talk about…”
As they chatted, they continued upstairs.
When passing the third floor, the two guards noticed their conversation and exchanged odd looks.
“About that matter… We did gather the food supplies together. Firstly, it’s easier to manage, and secondly… it prevents conflicts over resources.”
“I see,” Lin Mo nodded.
The approach made sense, though it might be hard for some to accept.
After all, they’d lived in a stable, law-abiding society for over a decade, and university life had always been relaxed.
Suddenly having even basic necessities controlled would undoubtedly feel restrictive.
“Oh, by the way, which floor were they keeping you on earlier?”
Song Xue’er suddenly asked.
“Huh? The fourth floor,” Lin Mo answered.
“Why do you ask?”
“The fourth floor…”
Song Xue’er’s expression turned strange, though she seemed to relax after sizing Lin Mo up.
“You might not know this, but we’ve categorized the floors. The fourth floor mainly houses those who are passive or lack combat ability.
The fifth floor accommodates people capable of fighting Zombies or those with intelligence and management skills.
All supplies like food are stored on the sixth floor, all managed by Senior Chen Chen. Under his leadership, I believe we can hold out until government rescue arrives!”
“Chen Chen?”
Lin Mo raised an eyebrow in surprise.
Even someone as detached as him knew the student council president’s name.
No wonder everything here was so orderly—it was his doing.
Chen Chen came from an extraordinary background—his family owned one of the world’s top 500 companies, with rumored government connections.
He himself was highly accomplished, excelling academically and demonstrating strong leadership, which earned him the student council presidency.
“Yes, though he has some flaws, overall he’s quite capable… But never mind that. For some reason, Zombie sightings have decreased since yesterday.
Combined with our dwindling food supplies, everyone’s growing uneasy-especially those on the fourth floor. Last night, a girl even tried to jump off the building, but thankfully someone stopped her…”
Song Xue’er’s face showed lingering fear as she spoke.
Lin Mo nodded.
The food shortage was expected this was originally a teaching building with little stored food.
Most supplies must have been collected from students.
“So what’s your next plan?”
Lin Mo couldn’t help but ask.
“That’s exactly what I wanted to say. Our food supplies are extremely limited, and with hundreds of people here, if we don’t come up with a solution and just sit idly by, no matter how much we ration, we’ll run out of food by the day after tomorrow. So…”
Song Xue’er’s face showed a hint of distress.
“So?”
“So we’re planning to go to the supermarket for food!”
Song Xue’er said.
“Hmm.”
Lin Mo nodded.
This was only natural.
The only places with food in the school were the cafeteria and the supermarket, and most of the food in the cafeteria was raw ingredients, clearly not as convenient as what was in the supermarket.
If they wanted to find food, the supermarket would be the first place that came to mind.
But…
“But we don’t know what the situation is like in the supermarket now. Besides, we can hardly see any Zombies around, which makes it even more unsettling. So we need more people who can fight and stand against the Zombies…”
After saying this, Song Xue’er stared straight at Lin Mo.
