[You have been randomly teleported to: Outer Region – Southeastern Sector]
Dragon Isle.
Just hearing the name made it sound like a place of epic scale. In most games, novels, or entertainment media, dragons were typically portrayed as high-tier, powerful beings — and Eternity was no exception.
According to the world map, Dragon Isle was located in the northeast corner of the Eternity world, covering an enormous area of nearly two million square kilometers.
For comparison, it was just slightly smaller than Greenland, the largest island on Earth.
With such vast land came an equally vast amount of in-game data. Trying to cram all that into a single map would’ve been an absolute nightmare, so the game divided the island’s outskirts into eight separate zones arranged in a ring around the central region.
Once the system had designated Dragon Isle’s outskirts as Lu Qiuchen’s “starter village,” it kindly unlocked all eight surrounding maps for him.
As for the heart of Dragon Isle — it was a sprawling plateau spanning nearly 200,000 square kilometers. Rising from its center was Dragonspine Peak, a lone, sky-piercing mountain hailed as the highest point on the entire continent.
The moment Lu Qiuchen arrived on Dragon Isle, he didn’t even have time to adapt to his new body — or recover from the teleportation-induced dizziness — before he found himself utterly stunned by the scene before him.
It wasn’t that the landscape was particularly magical or breathtaking… it was the realism that shocked him.
Despite the system having a fixed immersion setting of only 10% — meaning you wouldn’t feel dizziness, pain, fatigue, and other negative effects too strongly — your five senses weren’t dulled at all.
And that made all the difference.
Excited, Lu Qiuchen rubbed his hands together and began examining his new body from a first-person perspective with deep curiosity.
After all, he had finally given in to his personal XP kink when designing his avatar — so this body was only 168 cm tall, not much different from his real-life self.
The only real change? When he stood up straight and looked down, he could no longer see his feet.
A mix of curiosity and giddy anticipation colored Lu Qiuchen’s face. He slowly reached out his hands toward his body….only to frown in confusion a second later.
“Seriously? I can’t feel anything?”
Just then, a glaring red warning flashed at the bottom of his field of view:
[Your selected gender does not match your physical body. Sensory feedback for sensitive areas has been disabled.]
Lu Qiuchen’s face darkened in disappointment.
System, how dare you assume my gender!
‘My biological sex is male, but my gender identity is female! I hereby request sensory access!’
He was just joking in his head — but to his horror, another message popped up immediately:
[Request received. Your gender has been changed to: Hermaphrodite. Update character profile?]
…???
“ROAAARR—!”
Before he could even begin processing what the hell just happened, a deafening roar echoed from the distance. It was the kind of sound that could only belong to a massive creature.
Lu Qiuchen shuddered and quickly turned toward the source, but the trees around him were towering and dense, blocking his line of sight.
All he could make out was a flock of startled, unknown birds fleeing into the sky from deep within the forest.
“Crap. That definitely didn’t sound like something I wanna meet.”
Now wasn’t the time to dwell on the earlier incident. He was on Dragon Isle, and right now, he was just a Level 1 noob without a weapon — a total pushover.
Unfortunately, he hadn’t exactly landed in the safest spot.
The area behind him was a stretch of forest — likely the same place that terrifying roar had come from. To his left and slightly behind was more forest, even denser and darker than what was behind him.
The thick canopy blocked out most of the light, and the deeper parts looked pitch-black and menacing.
To the right? Just an endless plain. Thanks to his game-enhanced vision, he could barely make out a distant mountain shrouded in mist. That had to be Dragonspine Peak.
And in front of him…
The sea. Or more precisely — a steep cliff overlooking the ocean. No way to climb down from here.
“Welp… guess I’m going left into the forest.”
With no better options, Lu Qiuchen turned toward the thickest, scariest part of the woods — and took his first step into the unknown.
“You have been randomly teleported to the outskirts of Dragon Island.”
“You have been randomly teleported to the southeastern region of Dragon Island.”
Dragon Island. Just hearing the name sounded impressive. In most games, novels, and other entertainment works, dragons were typically depicted as high-tier beings with immense power—and Eternity was no exception.
On the world map, Dragon Island was located in the northeastern corner of the Eternity world, with a vast area spanning nearly two million square kilometers.
For comparison, it was just slightly smaller than Greenland, the largest island on Earth.
With such an immense area, the island naturally contained a staggering amount of information. It was far too complicated to represent on a single map, so the outskirts of Dragon Island weren’t a standalone map but rather divided into eight directional zones that surrounded the island’s center.
After determining Dragon Island’s outskirts as Lu Qiuchen’s “starter village,” the system thoughtfully unlocked all eight regional maps for him at once.
As for the center of the island, it was a 200,000-square-kilometer highland plateau. At its heart stood Dragonspine Peak—a colossal pillar piercing the skies, known across the continent as the tallest mountain.
After being teleported to the outskirts of Dragon Island, Lu Qiuchen barely had time to get used to his brand-new body and the dizziness that came with the teleportation before he was stunned by the view before him.
It wasn’t that the scenery was particularly breathtaking—but the near-identical realism compared to the real world was staggering. The system’s default immersion setting was only 10% and couldn’t be changed, applying only to things like dizziness, pain, and fatigue.
However, it didn’t reduce the fidelity of the player’s five senses in the slightest.
Excited, Lu Qiuchen rubbed his hands together, curious about this new body. He carefully observed himself from a first-person perspective.
Unable to resist his particular tastes, he’d ultimately chosen a body just 168 cm tall—similar to his real-world height.
The only noticeable difference was that, standing upright, he could no longer see his feet when looking down.
His expression was a complex mix of curiosity and excitement as he reached out both hands toward his own chest—
“Damn, I can’t feel a thing.” Lu Qiuchen’s face twisted with disappointment. The moment his hands made contact with his own body, a glaring red system prompt flashed into view:
[The selected gender does not match the original biological sex. Tactile feedback for sensitive areas has been disabled.]
“What gives you the right to assume my gender, system? My biological sex is male, but my psychological gender is female! I demand sensory activation!” he grumbled internally, half-joking. To his shock, a new prompt immediately appeared:
[Request received. Your gender will be updated to intersex. Would you like to update your character file?]
What???
“ROOOAAAR—”
Before his brain could even begin to process what was happening, a deep roar from a large creature echoed from afar.
Startled, Lu Qiuchen instinctively turned toward the direction of the sound, but the tall and dense trees limited his view. He could only see flocks of unknown birds startled into the air in the distant forest.
“Crap. Better get out of here—no way something that sounds like that is friendly.”
There was no time to dwell on the previous incident. This was Dragon Island, and he was nothing but a level 1 noob without any weapons.
Unfortunately, Lu Qiuchen had been teleported right to the edge of the island.
To his right stretched an endless plain, and thanks to the enhanced eyesight granted by the game, he could just make out a cloud-shrouded mountain in the distance—Dragonspine Peak.
Behind him lay a forest, the same direction the roar had come from. To his left and left-rear, more forest—dense and towering trees so dark and thick they were intimidating.
According to the map, the sea lay just ahead, with what looked like sheer cliffs dropping into the water.
That left only one option: enter the woods to the left!
“You little money-grubber, you think materials of that grade are so easy to come by? If that crazed dragon hadn’t tried to destroy the city, we wouldn’t even have been allowed to hunt a wyvern.”
“I don’t care. Captain, you promised me just now.”
As the group’s voices faded into the distance, the sounds of conversation disappeared, and the traces left behind in the forest quietly vanished as well. The surroundings returned to silence.
The dragon’s silhouette grew rapidly in Lu Qiuchen’s field of vision—until it stopped right in front of him.
A massive dragon over six meters long and nearly four meters tall loomed before a half-dragon standing not even 1.7 meters tall. The contrast was absurd.
Lu Qiuchen stared dumbfounded at the blue dragon that had landed just a few meters away from him. The distance between them was barely three meters.
He had to tilt his head far back to meet its gaze. He could feel its breath washing over his face—but didn’t dare move a muscle.
With a body like that, a single swipe could easily send him straight to the respawn point.
They locked eyes for a few silent moments.
Then—perhaps sensing Lu Qiuchen’s discomfort—the dragon let out a low growl. A flash of white light enveloped it, and its body swiftly shrank.
When the light faded, the towering dragon had transformed into a dragon girl who bore a slight resemblance to Lu Qiuchen.
Unlike the short, straight horns poking from Lu Qiuchen’s head, her horns curved slightly backward and were noticeably longer. Her pale skin was wrapped in a sleek, white leather-like outfit that clung to her form just up to her neck, outlining her graceful figure.
On top of that, patterned blue scales covered key parts of her body and joints. Her long, pale blue hair flowed over her shoulders and fluttered slightly in the breeze. Her lovely face, paired with a faintly indifferent expression, didn’t come off as overly cold or distant—instead, it gave her a mysterious allure.
“You’re… a half-dragon?” she asked in a cool, slightly aloof tone, her eyes glinting with curiosity.
“Uh… yeah.”
Snapped out of his daze, Lu Qiuchen replied, awkward syllables tumbling from his mouth. It was his first time speaking in the game.
Even though the language she used was unfamiliar, he could somehow understand it perfectly and respond just as naturally.
Honestly, it was a little embarrassing. In just a few short hours of playing Eternity, he’d already been stunned multiple times. But really—it was just that dragons were so cool!
The sheer sense of awe, the raw power in their size, the overwhelming pressure they radiated… It was unbelievable.
As for the latest shock?
Lu Qiuchen had only one thought: so it is possible to be sexy and wholesome at the same time!
“I’ve never seen a half-dragon before. You kind of look like my humanoid form,” the dragon girl said, circling around Lu Qiuchen as she examined him from head to toe.
Lu Qiuchen felt a bit awkward—and a little unsettled. There was something about this girl that didn’t feel like a typical NPC. Her movements were smooth and natural.
This was the first humanoid he’d met in the game… well, semi-humanoid.
Even the NPCs in this game are so real… this is insane.
