“You killed a Zombie?!”
The boy looked at Lin Mo in disbelief.
“Yeah.”
Lin Mo nodded faintly.
By now, he didn’t feel much about killing Zombies anymore.
Taking down mindless, slow-moving Zombies wasn’t particularly difficult for him at this point.
But for this boy, it was a different story.
In his eyes, Zombies were terrifying creatures-so horrifying that merely seeing one would make his legs go weak.
Hearing Lin Mo’s confirmation, he was instantly shocked, and his gaze toward Lin Mo changed, now tinged with a hint of awe.
“By the way, if you guys are this strong, maybe you could…”
As if suddenly struck by an idea, he slapped his thigh excitedly, his expression growing animated.
“What is it?”
Lin Mo looked at him curiously.
What could have gotten him so worked up?
“Listen, here’s the thing…”
The boy glanced at Lin Mo, calming down slightly before continuing slowly,
“Just a day ago, phone calls were still going through. A buddy of mine called and told me that a large group of survivors-hundreds of them had gathered at Building A of the teaching complex. With so many people together, it must be safe…”
“Hundreds?”
Lin Mo was surprised too.
The school only had two or three thousand people in total.
A few hundred would likely account for most of the survivors.
Who had the capability—or the influence to pull that off?
“Building A…”
Lin Mo thought for a moment and quickly understood.
Building A was close to the cafeteria and the supermarket.
When the incident happened, at least a third of the students had been in that area.
Chased by Zombies, they would’ve instinctively fled to the nearest shelter-Building A.
“So you’re saying…”
Lin Mo was intrigued. After all, there was strength in numbers.
With hundreds of people, a few Zombies wouldn’t stand a chance.
“He told me to go, but how could I possibly make it there?”
The boy grimaced.
“But you guys are different. You can kill Zombies. With you around, maybe we really could…”
The boy had been living in constant fear here, and the dorm’s food supplies were running low.
“Well…”
Lin Mo considered it and agreed it was a good idea.
Their small group wasn’t safe either.
Earlier, just two Zombies had given them a hard time.
What if there were three, or even four?
The odds would be against them.
Going to the gathering place would at least ensure their safety.
“Alright.”
Lin Mo nodded.
“But we’ll have to wait a bit. We’re all still hungry. Let’s find some food first and regroup before we go.”
“Yeah, good point.”
Zhang Yu nodded as well.
“No need to rush.”
“But… what about Wang Jie?”
Zhou Kai suddenly spoke up.
“Wang Jie…”
At his words, Lin Mo froze.
Come to think of it, Wang Jie was still back in the dorm.
“Should we… go back and get him?”
Zhou Kai suggested.
“We don’t need to go back, do we?”
Just as Lin Mo was hesitating, Zhang Yu abruptly interjected.
“Zhang Yu, you…”
Zhou Kai immediately looked at Zhang Yu in surprise.
“What about me? He’s the one who didn’t want to come with us. Even if we go back now, there’s no guarantee he’ll join us. Besides, it’s getting late. If we don’t hurry, it’ll be dark soon. Would you dare to walk around at night?”
“Then we can wait until tomorrow”
Zhou Kai’s words were cut off by Zhang Yu: “Tomorrow? Who knows what might happen tonight? Zhou Kai, let me be blunt-with Wang Jie’s personality, he’d just be dead weight. He might even get us all killed!”
“You…”
Zhou Kai stared at Zhang Yu in shock.
The implication was clear-Zhang Yu had deliberately left Wang Jie behind, considering him a burden.
“But we’re roommates!”
Zhou Kai said through gritted teeth, still unwilling to give up.
“So what? This is the apocalypse. We can barely survive ourselves, and you still have time to worry about others? If you want to bring him along, go find him yourself!”
“I…”
At Zhang Yu’s words, Zhou Kai fell silent.
Although they had cleared out Zombies on their way down, who knew if any had been missed or if some might break through doors?
Many dorm rooms still had Zombies inside. Without Lin Mo, he didn’t dare wander around recklessly.
