The hot spring pool was filled with mist.
Yisela sat on the fallen angel’s lap (forced to act as a backrest), her fingers fiddling with the black feathered wings. The little “test” in her heart had already turned into “annoyance.”
This woman was too boring.
So beautiful, with such a great figure, but she turned out to be an emotionless parrot?
This made Yisela, who always took pleasure in “ruining other people’s moods,” feel extremely frustrated.
“Hey, Puppet Sister.”
Yisela turned around, placed both hands on the fallen angel’s shoulders, and stared straight at those pale golden eyes with her ruby-like ones, her tone carrying a mix of sulkiness and provocation.
“So, can you let me go?”
The fallen angel’s body stiffened slightly, as if it had received an unparsable command.
A flicker of struggle passed across her delicate face, as if countless invisible threads were controlling her nerves. After a full ten seconds, she answered word by word in that utterly emotionless voice:
“I’m sorry, Your Highness the Silver Dragon Princess. I do not have that authorization.”
“My core directives are: First, take care of your daily needs. Second, prevent you from escaping.”
“Other than that, I cannot execute any operations.”
“Huh?”
Yisela looked as if she had heard the biggest joke in the world. She slid off the fallen angel, stood in the water with her hands on her hips, and shouted angrily:
“What kind of stupid commands are those! Then what if I order you to go die right now? Would you do it?”
The fallen angel slowly stood up, her black wings drawing an arc through the water. She bowed her head slightly and looked at Yisela with hollow eyes.
“If you insist on issuing this command, I must first confirm whether you are in a clear state of mind.”
“If it is confirmed that you are of sound mind, in order to prevent you from making a decision you will regret, I will prioritize executing the second directive — preventing your escape — and place you under mandatory confinement.”
“You!”
Yisela laughed in anger.
This wasn’t being taken captive; this was inviting an honored ancestor to be served!
She finally understood — she had been “placed under house arrest.”
Her opponent had gone through all this trouble, summoning death knights and platinum-tier magical beasts, even capturing so many people in the Borderland, only to treat her like an offering here, serving her with good food and drink, without harming a single hair on her head.
“What the hell do they want?!”
Yisela grabbed her wet hair in frustration, splashing water everywhere.
“You capture so many people, make such a big commotion, and all for what — to invite me to soak in a hot spring and eat a feast?”
“Is the person behind all this brain-damaged?”
She looked at the fallen angel’s face, which remained unchanged no matter how she provoked it, and felt stifled with irritation.
Since she couldn’t get the mastermind’s identity out of her, then she wouldn’t ask!
Yisela’s eyes rolled, and a malicious thought — “Since I can’t escape, I’ll eat them out of house and home” — surged up.
“Since you’re so obedient, then Her Highness the Princess will reluctantly enjoy the treatment of a captive!”
Yisela grinned wickedly and lunged forward.
“Since you can’t let me go, I’ll take it out on you!”
For the next ten minutes, a one-sided “torture” session unfolded in the hot spring pool.
Yisela transformed into a bath-time prince, treating the fallen angel like a human doll.
She smeared handfuls of rose petals on the angel’s face, scrubbed her back hard with a brush, and even mischievously tied several knots in her black feathered wings.
“Keep not talking! Keep being a statue!”
The fallen angel kept her eyes closed throughout, allowing Yisela to do whatever she wanted without any resistance.
Even when Yisela deliberately got shampoo into her eyes, only her lashes trembled slightly; she still maintained that “holy” and “vacant” expression.
“Hmph. A wooden statue with no reaction. No fun.”
Yisela, tired from her antics, finally climbed out of the water contentedly and wrapped herself in a huge bath towel.
“Let’s go, Puppet Sister. Take me to eat. Her Highness the Princess is hungry. If it’s not delicious, I’m going to complain about you, you know!”
The fallen angel stood up stiffly, a few rose petals still stuck to her from Yisela’s pranks. She bowed slightly and made a standard “please” gesture.
“As you command, Your Highness. The dining room is ready.”
Passing through the long corridor, Yisela had assumed that in such a gloomy ruin, the dining table would be shabby, with at most some raw meat bones placed on it.
The moment she pushed open the dining room door —
She froze completely.
“This… what the hell is this?!”
Yisela stared at the scene before her, her mouth wide enough to hold an egg.
This wasn’t a prisoner-of-war dining table — this was a banquet in the divine kingdom!
On the long table was a pure white tablecloth embroidered with gold silk thread. Crystal chandeliers hung from the vaulted ceiling, refracting brilliant light. The plates were pure silver, engraved with intricate Elven script.
And the food on the table made Yisela’s DNA move.
The continent’s most top-tier “golden crispy roasted whole lamb,” its skin so crispy it reflected light.
A whole “braised magic crystal sturgeon” marinated in dragon blood jam, exuding a tempting fruity aroma.
Piles of “holy light honey cakes,” topped with rare “star moon fruits.”
And even a priceless bottle of “thousand-year treant tears” red wine sat on the table.
“Gulp.”
Yisela swallowed ungracefully.
The fallen angel behind her still had no expression, reporting mechanically:
“Dinner is ready. All ingredients come from the Holy Light Kingdom’s Royal Manor. The wine is produced from the Elven Court’s secret cellar.”
“Please enjoy.”
Yisela stood before the table, looking at this feast worth a fortune — even more luxurious than what Saint Sister usually treated her to — and her confusion deepened.
You capture so many people, destroy the Borderland, all just to treat me to this?
What does the person behind this want?
Trying to bribe me with food? Or fatten me up before killing me?
Countless thoughts flashed through her mind, but when she looked at that golden, crispy roasted leg of lamb, Yisela’s rational defenses instantly collapsed.
Whatever!
If it’s a blessing, it’s not a curse; if it’s a curse, you can’t avoid it.
Since she couldn’t fight and couldn’t escape, and someone was willing to be the fool, she might as well just eat!
Yisela plopped down into a chair, grabbed a roasted chicken leg with her bare hands, and took a vicious bite.
Crunch!
The bliss of greasy flavor instantly filled her mouth.
“Mmm… delicious!”
Yisela mumbled indistinctly, and the annoyance in her heart was washed away by the delicious food.
“Whatever! I’ll deal with it when it comes!”
One hand holding a chicken leg, the other holding a lamb chop, she ate with grease all over her mouth, her tail wagging happily behind her.
Saint Sister is definitely thinking of a way to save me… Lina and the others should be safe too.
Since I can’t escape, I’ll eat and drink well first, get my body nice and strong!
When I get out, I’m definitely going to find that mastermind and ask them what they were thinking!
The fallen angel stood quietly to the side, watching Yisela wolf down her food. Something seemed to flicker in those pale golden eyes, but it soon returned to lifelessness. She just bowed slightly, like the most perfect butler.
“Your Highness, would you like me to cut the steak for you?”
“Cut it! Cut it into pieces! Her Highness the Princess is going to eat until I need to be carried out today!”
In the dining room, only the satisfying sounds of Yisela’s chewing and the crunch of bones remained.
A kidnapping that should have been thrilling had somehow turned into a gluttonous feast for a top-tier gourmand.
