Chapter 145: Drowning in a Honey-Sweet Dark Abyss

Gabriella’s eyes snapped wide open. 

The drowsiness clouding her mind disappeared in an instant, replaced first by a wave of confusion caused by her entire body trembling, and then by a profound sadness.

“Master… you don’t want me anymore?”

“How… strange…?”

“What’s going on…?”

Gabriella wiped the corner of her eye and realized she was actually crying.

Am I really this sad?

There was nothing wrong with what Olivia and Isabella were discussing.

To prevent the heavenly oracle envoys from continuing their attacks on the demon race and prolonging the cycle of hatred, she really should return at the right time.

If the humans knew that the Silver-White Sword Empress and the Goddess were safe and sound, they would lose their reason to fight.

The idiot Demon King would always praise her cooking, even if it was sometimes just to humor her.

Gabriella curled up, wrapping her wings around her shoulders like a little bat about to fall asleep.

The warm current flowing in her abdomen made her cheeks flush. 

Every time she thought of Isabella’s face, her entire body grew warm and fuzzy just like now.

She liked the way she spoke. 

She liked the way she looked at her every day, even if it was occasionally off the mark or misinterpreted her intentions.

The Demon King… really loves me.

In a daze, Gabriella grasped the root of her hesitation and melancholy.

“Do I… like the Demon King a little…?”

Gabriella mumbled. The answer felt like it had brushed right past the correct one.

At that moment, the discussion outside the door continued.

“Your Majesty, is that truly what you think?”

Isabella’s voice sounded hesitant. “My wife is pregnant. She needs rest right now, and I must protect her. I know you can do it too, Mom, but…”

Gabriella’s heart jolted. The tears had already begun streaming down, leaving two wet trails on her cheeks.

“I can’t leave her side at a time like this. I have to protect her myself. This has nothing to do with trust—it’s my responsibility… I still want to cook stir-fried pork ribs for my wife. She said she loves them.”

“So what does Your Majesty intend to do?”

“I need some more time to think. Mm, I’ll probably give you an answer tomorrow.”

“I see…”

Gabriella rubbed her eyes and muttered, “Idiot. You put too much pepper, you big idiot.”

But no one heard her words. Inside her small head with its two little horns, thoughts of unspeakable things for the night began to brew.

Isabella loved bullying her.

Several shadow tentacles quietly extended from under the blanket. Dark patterns spread across the bedroom walls.

Gabriella giggled softly.

Isabella’s face flushed red. 

Her wife rarely took the initiative like this.
