“…Office, office, faculty restroom…”
Meng Wange held the yellow note paper in her hand, her gaze sweeping across the signs hanging in front of the rooms one by one.
“…Is it the Spare Physical Equipment Room on the first floor of the Teaching Building?”
The note paper clearly stated it was on the first floor of the Teaching Building, but the expansive Baiying Academy had a total of five Teaching Buildings. Even after excluding the Practice Building and the Vocal Music Building, there were still three Teaching Buildings left.
After class, Meng Wange had already circled the entire first floor of the Teaching Building where Class Three, Year Two was located, but she hadn’t found a single room called the Physical Equipment Room.
Occasionally, a few faculty members hurried past Meng Wange, glancing at her with curious eyes, but none stopped.
A stranger student wandering around during break holding a note paper wasn’t something unusual.
“…There probably isn’t enough time to search thoroughly. Should I ask someone for directions?”
But if the teachers started questioning her purpose here, or kindly offered to accompany her, that wouldn’t be good.
Meng Wange quietly stuffed the note paper back into the pocket of her School Uniform Jacket and turned her gaze to the guide board next to the Teaching Building, which displayed the overall School Map of Baiying Academy.
The map didn’t mark any room called “Spare Physical Equipment Room,” but if she thought about it, the place chosen by Su Wanli should be as secluded as possible, most likely not somewhere crowded. So her gaze should be on the back of the Teaching Building, or close to the perimeter wall…
Tracing the edge of the school drawn on the map, Meng Wange’s eyes finally settled on a corner of Teaching Building No. 3.
That corner was enclosed by a wall and connected directly to the Baiying Academy Playground. It made sense for the Spare Physical Equipment Room to be there.
Having pinpointed her destination, Meng Wange lifted her head to look up at the giant clock on the Teaching Building.
Eleven thirteen, two minutes until the alarm bell for the last morning class.
“…What do you guys think, does Big Sis have a chance?”
Xiao Fen slung the badminton racket she had brought from home over her shoulder, tossing a feather shuttlecock high into the air with one hand, then catching it again before tossing it back up.
“I think, rather than whether she can succeed or not, the real question is whether Big Sis can actually say it out loud.”
Da Zhuang stroked his chin, looking in the direction of the Physical Equipment Room.
“Heh, if you’re that curious, why don’t you just go see for yourselves?”
Watching the two of them so well-matched, Du Xinxin silently sighed and shrugged as if she didn’t care.
“Anyway, the next class is just PE, and then there’ll be free activity time. When that happens, you can just go watch.”
“That won’t do! By the time we finish signing in and rush over, Su Big Sis would have already said everything, and Meng Wange would have already replied. We won’t see any fun at all!”
“Tsk, so do you want to see the result or the fun? Let me sign you in during PE, and you just go watch, alright?”
Du Xinxin waved her hand toward Xiao Fen, intending to continue walking toward the playground, but Xiao Fen tugged her back.
“No no no, that’s easier said than done. I’m not brave enough to go alone! What if Su Big Sis catches me? Then what? I need someone to come with me!”
“Then find Da Zhuang to go with you…”
Wen Manman shook her head vigorously at the two of them, then pointed to herself.
“No way. The PE teacher for the whole Class Three doesn’t recognize many people, but he knows me. If I don’t go, the teacher won’t even be able to confirm the class.”
“Yeah, that’s right. So, Xinxin”
Xiao Fen looked at Du Xinxin with pleading eyes, but her grip on her arm was firm with no intention of letting go.
“Please! Come with me! I really want to know what Su Big Sis and Meng Wange are talking about!”
“…What if Big Sis really finds out? What then?”
“Then we’ll just say we’re covering for her! Come on, come on, it’s to help Su Big Sis anytime!”
Seeing Du Xinxin’s stance soften slightly, Zhang Shiyu immediately pushed the badminton racket in her hands into Da Zhuang’s arms, then grabbed Du Xinxin’s arm and dragged her toward the Equipment Room.
“Please, Da Zhuang! Remember to sign us both in!”
“Huh? Alone?”
Wen Manman quietly took the badminton racket in her hand and scratched her forehead.
At the corner of Teaching Building No. 3, by the wall.
…the Spare Physical Equipment Room was indeed here.
Looking at the sign outside the room, Meng Wange relaxed and put the note paper back into her pocket.
She leaned over and retreated from the window of the room, glancing inside the Equipment Room.
A thin semi-transparent curtain blocked part of her view, but she could still vaguely see a familiar figure pacing back and forth inside.
Miss Su really did come.
…But, was she nervous?
After all, shouldn’t the one who was supposed to be nervous be herself the one caught and brought here by Miss Su’s underlings?
“Ding ling ling, ding ling ling ling ling”
Accompanied by the sharp, urgent alarm bell, the figure straightened up as if receiving an order, sitting down on a cube made from some stacked objects.
Meng Wange lightly curled the corners of her mouth but quickly composed her expression back into polite indifference.
Well, since Miss Su was already ready, whatever play she wanted to put on, as her most loyal strategist, she should accompany her.
Meng Wange took a deep breath and walked to the Equipment Room door, gripping the handle and pulling it open.
“Ahem”
At noon, sharp and dazzling light squeezed through the gap in the curtain, landing on the floor of the Equipment Room. Light dust floated freely and leisurely inside the room.
A petite black-haired girl stood with her back to Meng Wange, her head slightly tilted as she looked out the window.
Hearing the door open behind her, she let out a soft chuckle, her lips parting lightly.
“Ah, you’re here… ahem, you’re here, huh?”
A strong dust smell hit Meng Wange’s face, and she gently frowned, pulling out her handkerchief from her pocket as she tried to walk to Su Wanli’s side.
“Stay still, cough cough, just stand there. Don’t move.”
“…Alright, Miss Su.”
Meng Wange helplessly shrugged and closed the door behind her. The dust raging in the room finally settled for a moment.
The black-haired girl silently wiped her slightly reddened nose tip with her finger, then turned her head to look down at Meng Wange.
“So, Meng Wange, do you know why I called you here?”
