At the sound of the intrusive alarm, Song Hyunsoo’s eyelids twitched.
He fumbled for his phone on the nightstand and shut off the noise.
Thud-thud-thud-thud-thud, Monroe’s footsteps rushed in at the sound of the alarm.
With his face buried in the pillow, Hyunsoo smiled. How can a cat’s footsteps be so distinct? Are you really a cat?
The creature jumped onto the bed, this time climbing onto Hyunsoo’s bare back.

“Oh, yeah, good morning to you too, Monroe.”
Sitting up and hugging the cat, Hyunsoo showered him with kisses.
“Did you have fun while I was asleep?”

“Did you see Jooho Dad off properly?”

That longer meow sounded almost like he was saying, “Of course.”
“Jooho Dad looked handsome again today, didn’t he?”
Silence. Those beautiful eyes stared up at him.
“Yeah, I thought so too.”
Monroe stayed quiet.
“He just keeps getting more handsome lately, doesn’t he? Even you have to admit it’s a bit much, right? Huh?”

When Hyunsoo grabbed his face and started massaging, demanding agreement, Monroe shook his head like he was annoyed and raised his voice.
Why’s he like this? He usually loves this.
Hyunsoo got out of bed and flung open the curtains. He’d greeted Monroe with “good morning,” but it was already close to noon.
The sky, poised between late autumn and early winter, was a vivid, uniform blue, as if painted carefully with not a gap left untouched.
Stretching long, Hyunsoo started making the bed, including the empty space beside him.
Since returning from the photobook shoot in Paris, Yoon Jooho had been swamped.
Now that his parents had given up on their appeal, the full-scale restoration of Look Planning had begun.
Today, Jooho had left early for a meeting at Look Planning.
He must have slipped out of bed and the bedroom so quietly that Hyunsoo hadn’t noticed at all.
