As a frail human, surviving in this bizarre-filled hell world was never going to be easy.
Gaining power always came with a corresponding price.
After a brief moment of hesitation, Bai Tang changed her mind. No matter what, she had to become stronger and fight hard to keep living!
She couldn’t rely on luck every single time. If she didn’t find ways to grow stronger, she would never escape the fate of being devoured by those terrifying bizarre creatures.
Tentacles it was, then. Although they weren’t the most aesthetically pleasing, at least this gave her another means to protect her life.
“Teacher, I’ve changed my mind. Let’s keep her for now.”
Claire’s footsteps halted. She slowly turned around and saw the girl’s now resolute gaze, as if she had made up her mind about something.
Has she already learned to adapt to this hell world?
“Alright. Then go take a shower. It’s getting late, so rest early.”
“Okay, Teacher!”
After watching the Witch teacher return to her bedroom, Bai Tang composed herself. She didn’t waste any more time, found some clean clothes, and entered the shower room.
Soon, the sound of splashing water came from inside.
The old showerhead didn’t flow smoothly. It came out in intermittent spurts, pouring down over the girl’s head. The 40-degree warm water seeped slightly between her lips, carrying a faint rusty metallic taste.
Perhaps some metal pipe had rusted somewhere.
But these conditions were already quite good for the hell world.
“Cough… Mmm…”
Bai Tang shook the water from her hair. A layer of mist seemed to cover her vision. A breeze slipped in through the gaps in the shower room window and brushed against her bare, jade-like delicate body, bringing a trace of chill.
She recalled the decision she had just made.
Since I’ve accepted being parasitized, I really do need to familiarize myself with the tentacles’ combat style as soon as possible.
Under Bai Tang’s mental control, two pitch-black tentacles as thick as wrists slowly emerged from her lower back. As long as she wished, they could grow and extend endlessly.
It was as if they were her original limbs.
Actually, as long as you don’t stare too closely, they’re not that bizarre.
The only thing Bai Tang found somewhat unbearable was that the surface of the tentacles was always covered in a slippery, sticky, transparent mucus. It was very similar to an eel.
A bit… Hmm, maybe I should try washing them clean?
Suddenly coming up with this random idea, the girl never lacked the courage to try things out. She acted on it immediately, controlling the tentacles to slowly extend under the showerhead.
Bai Tang turned the water valve on again.
What she didn’t expect was that the slippery mucus layer could actually be scrubbed clean. Feeling the tentacles’ surface gradually become closer to the texture of skin, she became even more motivated.
After all, they’re part of my body now. I have to take good care of them. What’s with always being so sticky?
However, what Bai Tang didn’t anticipate was what came next.
Once the mucus layer on the tentacles’ surface was completely washed away and more water flowed down to touch their skin, something unexpected happened.
Countless tentacles bristled like cats that had gotten wet. Driven by instinct to avoid the water, they flailed wildly and twisted in a frenzy, completely out of Bai Tang’s control.
“What the heck! Why are you all going crazy like this!”
It was as if a defense system had been activated. They were fully stimulated and became extremely aggressive. A cacophony of clangs and crashes turned the entire shower room into chaos. Several tentacles even pierced straight through the ceiling.
Bai Tang tried to control them and retract the tentacles, but it had no effect whatsoever.
They unconsciously destroyed everything around them. Like avoiding a natural enemy, they tried to escape the watery area around Bai Tang, yanking her body back and forth until she was stumbling all over the place.
So the essence of tentacles is cats? What the heck is this “dissolve in water” nonsense!
The huge commotion in the shower room naturally drew the Witch teacher’s attention.
“Bai Tang, are you trying to demolish the entire store while taking a shower?!” Claire stormed out of her bedroom aggressively and stood outside the shower, shouting angrily.
However, once she clearly saw the scene inside the shower room, even Claire—who had seen her fair share of the world—couldn’t help but stare blankly. Her mouth hung open in shock.
The wooden shower door, having taken multiple hits, was riddled with holes and on the verge of collapse. It failed to hide the girl’s bare, beautiful, delicate body behind it at all.
Bai Tang stood there, flustered and at a loss for what to do. Countless pitch-black tentacles flailed aimlessly around her with no pattern or order—pure chaos.
The only saving grace was that the tentacles were only instinctively trying to distance themselves from the water source and destroying things in the process. They hadn’t attacked Bai Tang.
Otherwise, the kind of depraved scene that would follow wouldn’t be suitable for serialization on a proper website.
The teacher and student’s eyes met in midair.
“O- o- o- o-…”
I’ve been seen completely naked! Teacher saw me naked!
Bai Tang subconsciously reached out to cover herself.
The Witch teacher spoke. “It’s not like I haven’t seen it before.”
Of course Bai Tang knew that, but why say something so teasing at a time like this!
So embarrassing!!
Thus, between covering up top and bottom, Bai Tang chose to cover her face.
This is really so embarrassing!
Rather than hiding the parts the Witch teacher had already seen, Bai Tang didn’t want her to see the utterly ashamed expression on her face right now.
“Wuuu… Teacher, have they come alive? I can’t control them…”
The girl’s voice came out through the gaps between her fingers.
Claire was speechless.
Wasn’t this girl quite smart, steady, and even a bit ruthless when dealing with those bizarre creatures outside?
Why did she turn into such a fool at times like this?
Was this the so-called contrast?
That really was quite the contrast.
“They haven’t come alive. It’s just an instinctive reaction.” Seeming concerned that Bai Tang might not understand, Claire thought for a moment and added, “You know the knee-jerk reaction, right? Tap the knee, and the lower leg kicks out uncontrollably.”
“After the tentacles touch water, they become uncontrollable.”
The Witch teacher really was knowledgeable. It seemed like she knew everything. But that wasn’t the main issue. The main issue was that Bai Tang couldn’t retract the tentacles right now. What was she supposed to do?!
“Ehh~”
Claire sighed helplessly. Under Bai Tang’s incredulous gaze, she grabbed the wildly flailing tentacles surrounding the girl one by one and wrapped them all around Bai Tang’s body.
She finished it off with a pretty butterfly knot.
“Why are you tying me up with the tentacles?!”
“Because this is the only way besides chopping them off to stop them from wrecking everything.” Claire kicked the caterpillar-like bundled-up Bai Tang on the ground and stated matter-of-factly, “Once your tentacles calm down, I’ll untie you.”
“Then how am I supposed to sleep tonight…”
Bai Tang really felt like crying. Being naked and wrapped up as if constricted by a python felt truly uncomfortable.
Claire yawned, then dragged Bai Tang toward the bedroom.
“You can sleep on the floor in my room. That way, if anything happens, I’ll notice it immediately.”
“Oh, right.” As if suddenly remembering something, Claire added, “I’m making new magic potions tomorrow. Make sure you get up early to clean up a bit.”
