You left the bedchamber and headed straight for the room where that wicked disciple usually cultivated.
Gently pushing open the door, you saw a white-clad figure sitting cross-legged on the main seat, deep in cultivation.
Without any hesitation, you sidled up close, pressing your snowy, ample bosom against his back to give him a light massage, your voice sweet and coy as you asked him to rub your shoulders.
On any ordinary day, that wicked disciple would have grinned and given you a proper massage, taking the opportunity to tease you even more.
But today was not as beforeโstrangely, he did nothing at all.
Unconvinced, you began all sorts of temptations: rubbing his back, blowing softly into his ear, even slipping your little hand into his undergarmentsโฆ It wasn’t until you’d exhausted every trick you knew that the wicked disciple finally opened his eyes.
He looked at you deeply, and in that single glance was a swirl of emotionsโsighs, relief, admiration, hatred, disgust, fondnessโall mingled together, so complex you couldn’t even put them into words.
โMaster, I can’t pry open your heart.โ
He sighed deeply. In that moment, the little boy he once was seemed to have suddenly grown up.
โSo-called beauty is nothing but two hundred and six bones. With clothes on, one can have eighteen thousand different faces. To see beauty as white bones brings me no desire; to see white bones as beauty leaves me unafraid. Only by being free of desire and fear can one stand undefeated. To appreciate beauty without falling into lustโthat is a true man.โ
Zhou Xuan cupped his hands to you with a slight bow, thanking you for these fifteen years of effort, which had recently helped him realize that beauty and power were but fleeting clouds, while only immortality was eternal.
He escorted you out of the room. Just before leaving, you caught a glimpse of a faint scar on his chest under his daoist robeโthe mark left by the sword strike you once dealt, imbued with the power of a Nascent Soul Heavenly Lord.
Dressed in your finest, you were sent back as you had come. He showed nothing but the utmost gentlemanly conductโso different from the wicked disciple who had once confined you and treated you like a learned captive.
You seriously suspected that he had either been possessed by another soul, or that his cultivation had driven his mind astray.
“That wicked disciple is definitely advancing by retreating, playing hard to get! Don’t fall for it, main bodyโ the more he withdraws now, the more he’s waiting for you to take the initiative.”
“In my opinion, let’s just keep stalling with him. Once I finish grooming the Savior, I’ll rescue you. Once the seal is broken and you’re at the peak of Nascent Soul, half a step from merging with the Dao, you’ll come back like lightning!!”
Bloodbody was doing its best to comfort Su Bai, fearing that Su Bai would act on impulse, throw herself at the wicked disciple, and ultimately be manipulated into submission.
“I understand all the logic, but I still feel uneasy.” Su Bai picked up a jade grape and popped it into her mouth.
“Besides, without me around to keep him in check, that wicked disciple is a Nascent Soul Heavenly Lord. If he decides to throw away his face and bully you with his cultivation, how many moves could you lot withstand?”
“I’ve already instructed everyone in [Sun Extinguishing] to enter stealth mode, scattering across the Five Regions to slowly build strength.”
“Mm.” Su Bai swallowed another grape. When the jade plate was empty, she touched her chin. “No, I still feel like I need to test him a few more times.”
“If he’s really pretending, I’ll just keep stalling him. Anyway, this is only a simulated body. Even if I really do get broken by his manipulation, once the simulation ends, I’ll be as lively as ever in the next round.”
“If he’s not pretending, then that’s even more dangerous. A man in a sigma state becomes hyper-focused on his ambitions. If he really wipes all of you out, I truly won’t be able to break the situation this lifetime.”
Bloodbody wanted to argue but didn’t know where to start. In a sense, Su Bai made perfect sense. After all, it’s only a simulated body; as long as the deadlock is broken, who will remember any of this in the next simulation?
“Do your best.” With these words, Bloodbody, feeling increasingly uneasy, sped up the process of training the Savior.
Meanwhile, Su Bai sat up, gazing at the reflection in the black treasure mirror in her bedchamberโher face, stunning yet completely unsatisfied, listless despite its beautyโshe found herself momentarily lost.
A month later, it was once again that time of the month when this thoroughly developed little furball’s body went into heat. Su Bai sat quietly in front of the black treasure mirror for half an hour.
After a quick touch-up, she once again cast her gaze at her reflection.
Her sleeves were wide and bell-shaped, fluttering like butterfly wings with each movement. The hem of her robe was embroidered with dense golden peonies, the flowers vibrant and lush, petals layered and trembling slightly with each step.
Around her waist was a purple silk sash adorned with several small golden bells, which chimed crisply as she walked. Below, she wore a matching gauze skirt with a fishtail hem, slitted high on both sides to reveal long, fair jade legs that swayed gracefully with every step, exuding irresistible charm.
You crept through the darkness onto that wicked disciple’s bed.
Half an hour later, the wicked disciple, having gone out for some unknown errand, returned to his room.
Upon seeing you on his bed, he let out a soft sigh, then turned and left the room.
And so, once again, you faced your desires alone, spending a long and unbearable night in a man’s bed.
That wicked disciple seemed to truly be as he saidโno longer interested in you or in beauty, with only his heart set on eternal life.
“Ahhh! Bloodbody, I’m so miserable~ Every month it comes, and the nights are tortureโI wish I could just pass out.”
“Be good~ Just treat it like that time of the month for women, endure a bit longer.”
“Iโฆ Fine! I’ll endure. Speed upโno, stay steady and thorough, I’ll wait for you to come rescue me.”
“Understood.”
Ten years later.
Su Bai was basking in the sun outside the bedchamber when she noticed Zhou Xuan flying back, his daoist robe stained with blood. After a few questions, she learned he was mostly unharmedโthe blood was from an old wound that had reopened in a fight with a thief.
If not for the old injury, Zhou Xuan said he was confident he could have captured that blood-cultivating demonic cultivator.
Su Bai feigned concern, secretly inquiring after Bloodbody’s condition.
As expected, Bloodbody had taken a serious hitโif not for mastery of the Blood Adaptation Technique, it would never have escaped.
Another ten years passed.
Once again, Zhou Xuan coughed up blood suspiciously.
After some probing, Su Bai learned that the great Five Elements Creation Annihilation Sword she had struck him with years ago had not only wounded his foundation, but also injured his very path to Nascent Soul, and to this day, the injury remained unhealed.
Upon relaying this to Bloodbody, Bloodbody grew even more excited, declaring that your rescue was just around the cornerโand among the Saviors under cultivation, some had already reached the Golden Core stage.
Another decade slipped by in a flash.
During this time, Zhou Xuan made many moves, leading the [Divine Emperor Soldiers] in repeated executions of rebellious cultivators. No matter how many were cut down, like wildfire, the rebels kept rising anew.
Just as Su Bai had once said: you can’t lock up a person’s restless thoughts!
Su Bai kept abreast of outside news partly through Bloodbody, partly from Zhou Xuan each time he returned.
Though he claimed to have seen through beauty and power and had no interest in Su Bai’s charms, he never let Su Bai go, insisting on bringing her into the new era to repay her for saving his life, nurturing him, and granting him his path to the Dao.
