Silvia sat back down in her seat, calming her emotions.
Today, she had witnessed far too many unexpected events.
Rosetta stood respectfully by her side, her hand resting lightly on the sword hilt.
Seeing Silvia’s reaction, she couldn’t help but softly inquire, “Holy Throne, is there anything I can do to ease your burden?”
Silvia pressed a hand to her forehead and let out a light laugh before replying, “Captain, you have already helped me carry a great deal.”
“It’s nothing more than small matters. You flatter me too much,” Rosetta said.
If anyone else had said such words, Silvia would have thought it mere flattery, but coming from Rosetta, it was undoubtedly sincere.
That was one of the reasons Silvia valued her so much.
Honest people were the most reliable to have around.
Though Silvia’s mind was deep and complicated, she preferred to work with straightforward individuals—it made things easier and simpler.
“Has the Violet Sakura Empire’s drill unit already departed?” she asked casually.
“Yes.”
“What do you think of them?”
Rosetta answered with a calm expression, “Not bad at all. Truly worthy of being the strongest empire among the major nations.”
“And compared to the Church’s army?”
“Other than in numbers, it’s nothing noteworthy,” Rosetta replied flatly.
“Among the extraordinary beings here, who do you think deserves the most attention?”
Silvia pressed on.
“Captain Maria, and…”
Rosetta hesitated, considering whether she should continue.
“You actually have reservations? Interesting. Who is it that troubles you so?”
Silvia’s curiosity was piqued by Rosetta’s hesitation.
After being pressed, Rosetta no longer hesitated.
“It’s the Lily Countess, the daughter of Duchess Kelden.”
Silvia’s eyes narrowed upon hearing Luo Xiya’s name emerge from Rosetta’s list of worthy opponents.
Maria being valued by Rosetta was unquestionable—her magic power was at the Sanctuary level, and her Sacred Seal on the battlefield was almost inhuman.
One could even say that if Maria hadn’t wisely pledged loyalty to Silvia early on, she might have quietly plotted to remove her.
Rosetta’s respect for her aligned with Silvia’s own views, but why Luo Xiya?
What qualifications did she have to stand alongside Scarlet Rose Maria?
Silvia’s subtle mental fluctuation did not go unnoticed.
Rosetta looked down and asked hesitantly, “Your Majesty, did I say something wrong?”
“No,” Silvia shook her head.
“I’m just curious. Why do you value that girl so much? Even with great talent, without breaking through the Sanctuary level, she doesn’t deserve excessive attention.”
“Because… her Sacred Seal is exactly the same as the Blue Knight’s was,” Rosetta finally said after some thought.
The Blue Knight was a name recorded in the legends left by Goddess Fara, her story painted in bold strokes and regarded as immensely important.
She was Fara’s most trusted and strongest knight.
During the Holy War, she pierced the heavens with her lance, causing the gods to fall from the sky to the earth.
She then accompanied Fara to bring the Holy War to an end.
After Fara departed to govern the wilderness, the Blue Knight disappeared without a trace.
Her Sacred Seal, like Luo Xiya’s, was Mental Construction, though few knew this—even Luo Xiya herself was unaware.
Silvia’s narrowed eyes returned to normal as she smiled wryly.
“Captain, I know your childhood idol was that Blue Knight, but Mental Construction isn’t a particularly powerful Sacred Seal. Its effect, like your ‘Justice,’ depends entirely on the person.”
“The Blue Knight was so strong because her mental power had reached the level of the ancient legends.”
“There have been other awakenings of such Sacred Seals in the Continent’s history, but there has only ever been one Blue Knight,” Rosetta said after a moment’s silence.
“You’re right,” she added.
The meaning was clear—she admitted that Silvia’s point was valid.
Silvia decided not to argue further.
Looking toward the arena, she asked, “Next will be the children’s matchups?”
“Yes. After the Selection Tournament comes the official Knockout Tournament,” Rosetta answered.
Silvia closed her eyes, too weary to watch any longer.
***
Lily Territory.
After Lady Catherine finished imparting today’s lessons, she set down her pen with a tired expression and removed the glasses perched on her nose, placing them aside.
“Did you remember everything?” she asked, rubbing her eyes.
“I did,” Roman said obediently as he closed his notebook.
He then walked behind Lady Catherine and placed his hands gently over her eyes.
“Be good, don’t fidget,” Lady Catherine chided.
“I know an eye exercise that can help relieve your fatigue.”
Roman’s hands rested over her eyes and began moving slowly.
“Mmm…”
After a moment, Lady Catherine let out a low sigh of comfort as the weariness seemed to dissipate with Roman’s movements.
When Roman finished the four sections of the eye exercise, Lady Catherine opened her eyes, clearly noticing the world had grown much brighter and clearer.
The dryness in her eyes was almost completely gone.
“Does it feel good?”
Roman asked softly as he leaned against Lady Catherine’s shoulder.
“Yes, quite comfortable,” she said quietly, leaning back in her chair with her head resting on his chest.
Roman looked down and immediately blushed.
He had been wanting to say this all day.
Lady Catherine’s dress was, in a way, low-cut.
From his perspective, just one glance downward…
Even though he had seen it many times before—even having his face buried in it more than once—after the long hours of studying, this sight still made him a little uncomfortable.
“Did you often wear clothes like this when you went out?” he asked, his tone sounding strange even to himself.
Lady Catherine fell into an odd silence before breaking into a bright laugh.
“You’re jealous, aren’t you?” she teased playfully.
“No,” Roman replied, clearly displeased this time.
Suddenly, Lady Catherine stood up, startling Roman.
“Miss…”
Before he could finish, she pulled him tightly into her arms. He felt as though he had been enveloped in a sweet, fluffy cloud, his breath filled with the scent of something fragrant and soft.
Overwhelmed, Roman was left speechless.
“I promise you, no one else will get a look~”
Lady Catherine said in the same sweet tone.
“I always wore that black robe when I was outside. Today, I only put on this dress because I was thinking of you.”
