After a bit of a roundabout situation… well, it came down to not knowing how to ask a real doctor to help with drawing blood, so I had to ask Hongye for help. It took quite a bit of effort to get two hundred milliliters of blood out of Ye Xingyao’s little arm.
After all that fuss, by the time we got out, a glance at my phone showed it was already noon. I hoped Miss Fumier hadn’t starved.
On the street, two girls—one in black, one in white—walked side by side.
The black-haired girl looked nervous, clutching something to her chest. Her star-blue eyes darted around, seemingly worried about the stares of passersby.
What reassured her was that, from what she could see, no one around was paying her much attention. That helped her calm down a little.
Ye Xingyao squeezed the fist-sized blood bag in her arms, feeling the faint warmth it still held after leaving her body, and smiled bitterly to herself.
‘This counts as a novel experience, I guess?’
The white-haired girl beside her quietly fell half a step behind, stealing a thoughtful glance at Xingyao.
This girl who had once been her childhood friend… hadn’t awakened some kind of scary attribute, had she?
“Hmm? What’s wrong?”
Perceptive Miss Xingyao quickly noticed the movement and asked curiously.
“Nothing, just worried about you. Look, your face is a little pale.”
Yi Shiyue smiled and reached out as if to pinch her cheek, but Xingyao twisted her face away to dodge.
“You guys… what is it about my face that’s so attractive? Why does everyone love touching it so much…”
Xingyao averted her gaze, muttering under her breath. Clutching the blood bag, she looked like a hamster—absolutely adorable.
“It feels really good, doesn’t it? You think so too, right?”
Yi Shiyue found the sight of this girl hilarious.
“Ah, well… I guess I can’t argue with that.”
Ye Xingyao nodded with absolute conviction.
She had to admit, she also thought her face felt pretty great to touch. Too bad she never had alone time to properly rub her own cheeks… Wait, no. She, Ye Xingyao, would never have such a narcissistic little girl thought!
“You…”
Yi Shiyue shook her head with a smile and gently nudged the girl’s waist in a “what am I going to do with you” kind of way.
“Hey, Xiaoyue, what should we eat later?”
Feeling the emptiness in her stomach, Xingyao remembered this very important question.
“Hmm, let’s look around outside. There’s no way we’ll have time to go home and cook now.”
Their mission on this trip was twofold: first, to bring some blood to Miss Fumier as a meal, and second, to solve their own lunch problem. After all… they still had classes in the afternoon.
The thought of class made it hard not to connect the words “Savior” and “student.” In anime, it was always high school kids saving the world…
Seemed like the only difference was that the male leads got invincible superpowers, and the female leads became powerful magical girls.
And then there was her—a cross-dressing Hunter working odd jobs… Even if she didn’t admit it, she barely qualified as a male crossdresser. Now she’d become a beautiful female elf with supposedly invincible Star Elf abilities.
Thinking about this, Ye Xingyao’s expression turned strange. She quietly proposed a wild take in her head…
‘So a cross-dressing player as the protagonist who turns into a gender-swapped elf is… weirdly reasonable?! ’
As she let her thoughts wander, the two quickly arrived near the safehouse.
While they were stuck in an endless loop of suggesting things, hesitating, then rejecting everything because they couldn’t decide what to eat, Ye Xingyao suddenly spotted a shop by the roadside. Its name was “The Pizza That Will Definitely Make Westerners Angry.”
“I choose you!”
In the end, Yi Shiyue carried two pizza boxes as they stepped through the door of the safehouse together.
“Big Sis Xingyao? Big Sis Xiaoyue?”
From inside came Fumier’s surprised and delighted voice. Without even seeing her, they could picture her happy little face.
Wonder where that cold, charming loli from the banquet who fought with Mite had gone.
Ye Xingyao thought regretfully.
But if the other version were too sharp, getting along would probably take some time to adjust. So this cute and cuddly little one was much more reassuring.
Ye Xingyao smiled and waved at the Blood Elf girl lying on the bed, eagerly awaiting her meal, then handed over the blood bag.
“Mm, thank you, Big Sis Xingyao~”
Fumier accepted the bag with perfect poise, like a vassal receiving a great reward.
Then, Yi Shiyue set up chairs around the safehouse dining table, opened the pizza boxes, and called the other two girls over to eat.
“Thanks, Big Sis Xiaoyue. Huh? What a strange name—‘The Pizza That Will Definitely Make Westerners Angry’… Why does it look so authentic?”
Fumier cradled the little blood bag like a treasure, looking curiously at the small print on the pizza box.
“Miss Fumier speaks Mandarin very well.”
Yi Shiyue remarked approvingly. This golden-haired, petite Blood Elf lady had earned major points with the way she presented herself.
“Mm, my grandfather loved Zhongzhou culture. There were even special teachers at our ancestral home who taught us Mandarin.”
Fumier bit into the blood bag, her cheeks puffed out like a hamster gnawing on a nut, making the other two laugh.
When Fumier sensed something off and looked up, Xingyao and Shiyue had already, without a sound, each grabbed a slice of pizza and elegantly placed it in their mouths to chew.
It took a bit of struggle with the blood bag. To be fair, modern technology had made blood bags quite sturdy—it only broke when Fumier opened her mouth and bit down hard with her Blood Fang.
Before Xingyao could start laughing, the blood inside the bag visibly drained at an alarming rate, making her feel phantom pains in the arm she’d just drawn blood from.
If this was a daily meal, she’d be drained dry!
Watching Fumier’s expression grow more and more delighted, Ye Xingyao worried for her own future.
“Mm, Big Sis Xingyao doesn’t need to worry. Based on the magic power concentration in your blood, this amount is enough to keep me active for about a week! The taste of your blood is also amazing… I might become unable to live without you, Big Sis Xingyao!”
Fumier praised sincerely, licking her lips as she eyed the remaining blood in the bag.
When Xingyao heard that explanation, she let out a long sigh of relief. It seemed she wouldn’t have to hemorrhage every day. Still, being complimented on the taste of her blood… felt incredibly weird.
“Oh, I could also try…”
A flash of inspiration struck Fumier. She picked up a slice of pizza from the table and, under Xingyao and Shiyue’s strange gazes, squeezed some of the leftover blood from the bag onto it…
Hey, hey, so it’s the Westerners who really know how to make Westerners angry, aren’t they?
