Chapter 86: Switch!

Ye Qingchang felt that the atmosphere here was actually not very suitable for living.

Especially with the endless flirting between Xiaoniao and Gou Yu, although it seemed like they were actually fighting.

And then there was Xu Nian, who practically treated the dorm leader like his own daughter, though they both seemed like pure idiots.

Thankfully, there was still Liu Xie accompanying her, and Liu Xie was with her when facing the others.

After gently placing her bag on the bed she had chosen, she looked toward the bathroom with the light on.

Liu Xie was inside using the toilet and definitely wouldn’t come out just yet.

So she unzipped her bag, her expression serious as she looked at the somewhat unique piece of clothing inside.

It was a swimsuit.

With that in mind, she shoved the swimsuit to the very bottom of her bag.

Taking a long breath, Ye Qingchang moved her bag further away from Liu Xie’s bag.

She was afraid Liu Xie might come out and rummage through her things.

Walking over to the window, she pulled back the curtain.

The setting sun was blood-red; it wouldn’t be long before the glow fading in the sky disappeared from sight.

The room was on the eleventh floor of the hotel; fortunately, there was an elevator, and the three rooms were all adjacent to each other.

The view from the eleventh floor was excellent, and this room’s window faced the right direction so that Ye Qingchang could vaguely see the beach dyed red by the sunset.

But unfortunately, she couldn’t see the vast ocean or the moonlight.

She would have to wait until they went out for barbecue by the sea to take another look.

Ye Qingchang closed the curtains again, and turned on every light in the room that could be switched on, so that when Liu Xie came out, she wouldn’t trip in the dark.

She always felt that she was too normal, so she never quite fit in with these people.

Taking a few steps, she arrived at Xu Nian and Yang Shuli’s door.

Logically, their stupid dorm leader would never be okay with her being alone with any guy, let alone living in the same room.

But Xu Nian was different; when the dorm leader was with him, they were just two useless fools combined into a super useless fool.

If Xu Nian really had any ulterior motives, the dorm leader would have been kidnapped somewhere by now.

They trusted Xu Nian completely.

The door was ajar, but the conversation inside was quieter and gentler compared to Zhu Niao and Gou Yu’s shouting.

Ye Qingchang didn’t rush in; she stood by the door and pressed her ear to listen.

“There’s delivery here? Wow.” It was Yang Shuli’s voice. “So why isn’t there a special deal for 3.9 yuan meal combos?”

The tiny dorm leader sounded like she had just woken up, her voice laced with a babyish tone.

“When you’re traveling, you don’t have to shortchange yourself, right?” The gentle voice answered. “If you’re hungry, I brought some snacks. If you don’t like them, we can go out and eat first.”

“Where are the snacks? Let me try one.” The lazy Yang Shuli said. “Going out is a no-go. After eating, we have to come back, then later go out for barbecue again. I’m too lazy.”

“I can carry you.”

Yang Shuli stuffed some dried fruit into her mouth as she answered, “No, I don’t want to go.”

“Then hold me?”

The tiny dorm leader pinched her chin, seemingly seriously considering it, but in the end shook her head. “I just want to lie down now.”

There was a pause; the air grew silent.

Suddenly, Yang Shuli said, “I’m imagining these dried mangoes as grilled squid. Would they taste like grilled squid then?”

Apparently remembering some unpleasant memory about fantasies, Ye Qingchang loosened her grip on the doorknob.

She thought for a moment and gave up on this inspection.

She returned to her room with Liu Xie just as the last sliver of sunset disappeared over the bustling street.

She also saw Liu Xie support herself against the door, stepping out of the bathroom.

Ye Qingchang was silent for a moment.

“I remember we didn’t eat Wallace’s before we came.”

“No, my leg’s numb.” Liu Xie’s face was full of pain. “Come help me.”

Ye Qingchang reached out her hand to help.

Maybe she moved too slowly, because before she could support Liu Xie, Liu Xie’s hand slipped off the door handle.

She immediately collapsed to the floor right in front of Ye Qingchang.

“Pfft…”

Liu Xie looked up expressionlessly.

“You were way more embarrassing than me during the sports meet.”

Ye Qingchang couldn’t even laugh.

“And besides,” Liu Xie said as she shook herself upright, adjusting her chest, “I have padding.”

Ye Qingchang realized she really shouldn’t argue with this person about anything.

She looked at the curtain she had left slightly open. “It’s dark now. Should we head out?”

“Why does that sound like a funeral?” Liu Xie raised an eyebrow. “Go get the others. We’re going to that barbecue place by the beach for a feast.”

“Got it.”

Liu Xie sat on the edge of the bed, massaging her thigh as if trying to tame her rebellious legs.

Ye Qingchang left the room without looking back.

She glanced left and saw a pale-faced young man in a black robe with a white lining, who looked a bit cold.

Wrong direction. Their four rooms were actually on the right side.

She took a step forward, then suddenly stopped.

No, who did she just see?

Turning her head, she adjusted her glasses and looked carefully.

It seemed like Liu Xie had betrayed her—otherwise, how could Liu Anran be standing right in front of her?

Then he handed that card into her hand.

He also took the room card that belonged to her and Liu Xie.

It seemed this guy hadn’t been brought by Liu Xie; she had come here looking for him herself.

She made a gesture signaling “Got it,” then turned to grab her luggage.
