Iana carefully took off the dress from Lillian, not daring to be careless in the slightest.
After all, if she damaged this dress, the money from selling both herself and Lillian wouldn’t be enough to pay for it.
She could already imagine being forcibly held back by the store manager because of ruining the dress, spending the rest of her life working here.
She definitely didn’t want to spend her entire life working here for money—that would be unbearably boring.
After hanging the dress back in its place, Iana took Lillian’s small hand.
The soft, delicate touch felt just like a baby’s hand. Â
“Let’s go buy some fabric. I’ll make you a one-of-a-kind dress. I refuse to believe I can’t do better than Veronica.”
Iana was never one to admit defeat; she was also quite proud.
Having promised to help Lillian win Ethelrina’s favor as much as possible, she naturally had to give it her all to do the best she could. Â
Her eyes sparkled with determination, as if even if the world were ending tomorrow, nothing could stop her from making this dress for Lillian today.
Lillian stumbled slightly, following right behind Iana, completely led by her hand.
She had never seen Iana so persistent before.
She was only entrusted by Ian to plan a birthday party for her, yet she was taking it so seriously. Â
Iana was even willing to personally sew a gorgeous dress for her.
Although Lillian didn’t know what kind of deal Ian and Iana had struck behind the scenes, Iana’s sense of responsibility alone made Lillian think about paying her a salary. Â
‘For three thousand Gold Coins, I absolutely cannot let Veronica invite Ethelrina.’ Iana clenched her teeth fiercely.
In her heart, this was no longer just a battle between Veronica and Lillian for Ethelrina’s favor. Â
It had become a battle between her and the System for those three thousand Gold Coins.
She didn’t know any magic and could not afford to lose.
If she did, she couldn’t even imagine how she would earn that many coins. Â
Moreover, she currently owed the System several thousand Emotion Points.
Without interactions between Lillian and Ethelrina, how could she repay them? Â
Putting all this together, although the System hadn’t explained what punishment awaited if she failed to repay on time, Iana was certain the System wouldn’t let her off easily.
The two hurried downstairs, ignoring the waiter’s calls, heading straight toward a fabric wholesaler.
This was also a place that sold high-end fabrics wholesale, but the prices were vastly different from finished products.
After all, the most expensive part of a high-class dress wasn’t the raw material, but the labor cost. Â
“Boss, can I see a few pieces of your fabric?” Iana asked.
She already clearly knew Lillian’s remaining balance, so she could make a relatively thorough plan.
About ten Gold Coins would be spent on fabric and tools, with the rest reserved for buying ingredients for desserts, cakes, and invitations.
The budget was tight, and Iana dared not waste any money. Â
The boss looked Iana and Lillian up and down.
Obviously, his eyesight wasn’t as keen as the Silver Feather Garments attendant’s, as he didn’t recognize Lillian’s identity. Â
Seeing two half-grown kids coming to buy fabric, he found it a bit ridiculous but quickly thought perhaps their guardians had sent them.
“Did your guardians send you here? You should go home and call them. I don’t sell to kids.”
“Who said our guardians sent us? And we’re not kids—we’re second-year students at Saint Roland Magic Academy,” Iana said righteously.
“Little one, lying will only make your nose grow longer,” the boss clearly didn’t believe Iana.
Iana had no choice but to pull out Lillian’s wallet, placing it on the table.
Instantly, a dozen or so shiny Gold Coins gleamed dazzlingly. Â
Lillian looked dumbfounded at Iana, not understanding how she could so skillfully take the wallet out of her bag.
“Do you believe we’re here to buy fabric now?”
Looking at the Gold Coins on the table, the boss believed her a little more.
“I don’t offer unconditional returns. If your parents come later, I won’t refund you.” Â
“Got it. Enough talk. Just bring the fabric over.”
When several bolts of fabric were laid on the table, Iana skillfully felt their texture.
They were all decent, but in the end, she chose the silver-white fabric in the middle. Â
After some bargaining, Iana successfully bought the fabric for nine Gold Coins and also spent one Gold Coin in the store to buy some small diamonds, lace trimmings, and other decorations for the dress.
She also asked the shopkeeper to give them a set of needles and thread. Â
With everything purchased, Iana didn’t stop to rest but took Lillian straight to Lillian’s villa.
On the way, she called Yiserin to tell her she wouldn’t be returning tonight and would be staying over at Lillian’s villa. Â
Back at Lillian’s villa, Iana rolled up her sleeves, her expression a little anxious.
There was so little time—only three days—and not a moment could be wasted.
If possible, Iana wished she could split herself into three to handle all the different tasks. Â
Including, but not limited to, making desserts, decorating the villa, and sewing the dress—a whole series of tasks.
Lillian tilted her head, watching Iana preparing to make the dress, and finally asked a question that had been bothering her since earlier: Did Iana really know how to make dresses?
“Of course. Just wait and see the finished product,” Iana said confidently.
As Veronica’s former butler, Ian had learned many skills from a young age, including tailoring.
Iana grabbed Lillian’s hand and, without asking, measured her three sizes with a tape measure.
Except for her chest being a bit small, the other measurements were pretty perfect. Â
After taking the measurements, Iana spread out the silver-white fabric and picked up a piece of chalk, drawing lines on it.
Her movements were skillful, her gaze focused, like a natural artisan.
Lillian watched quietly from the side. Â
Late into the night, Iana was still diligently making the dress for Lillian, while Lillian was drowsy, her petite head bobbing like the paw of a beckoning cat.
Noticing Lillian’s state, Iana whispered, “If you’re tired, just go lie down and rest.”
“I-I’m not…” Lillian lightly slapped her face, trying to stay awake, but soon after, she fell asleep again.
Iana sighed, carried her back to bed to rest, and returned to continue making the dress.
Though she was tired as well, Iana found that whenever her energy waned, she could absorb the power within the Bloodstone, which not only advanced her Bloodline Development progress but also gave her more energy to sew the dress.
‘This really kills two birds with one stone,’ Iana thought, feeling that it wouldn’t be long before her Bloodline Development progress reached ten percent.
