“Favi family?”
Via was somewhat surprised.
The Favi family—wasn’t that Lucy’s family?
“Yes, Mr. W, it’s that particularly famous Favi family,” Goren explained. “Their family knights bought the mana bombs you made from me, took them back, and developed quite an interest. So they sent someone over to find me, saying they hope to meet you in person to discuss a deal.”
“Oh ho, so there really are nobles interested.” Via acknowledged.
“Mr. W, you’d better think it over carefully before deciding. The Favi family has quite a background in the empire—that Count Favi holds considerable power, with his own armed knights. If you get targeted, it’ll probably be especially troublesome.”
“Are there other buyers?”
“There are, but those guys aren’t worth you meeting—they don’t count as rich or powerful.”
“I’ll think about it…”
Via pondered.
She felt that getting involved with the Favi family might bring some trouble.
If it were normal times, she might refuse.
But right now, she really needed a large quantity of magic stones—perhaps she could temporarily solve this problem through the Favi family.
Although there was some risk, it was worth trying.
“I plan to make a trip to the Favi family.”
“Are you sure?”
“I’m sure, Boss Goren. How can there be no risk in a money-making business? If you want to earn big, you have to earn from the rich.”
“Good, that’s bold. Then I’ll arrange it for you!” Goren quite admired this mysterious Mr. W.
At night, a carriage stopped in front of a luxurious manor.
A servant waiting at the gate stepped forward and opened the carriage door.
The people sitting inside were none other than Via, wearing a mask and black robe, and Boss Goren.
“May I ask, are you two Mr. W and Boss Goren?” the servant inquired.
“Yes,” Goren replied. “We’ve come at the invitation of the count.”
“Very well, honored guests, this way please.”
The servant bowed politely, inviting Via and Boss Goren to step down together.
Via stood in front of the manor. Judging from the brightly lit luxurious building and the servant’s attire, she could imagine that this Count Favi was a wealthy figure in the empire.
“Mr. W, this is my first time coming to a place like this.”
Boss Goren wasn’t quite accustomed to it.
“Usually, the people I deal with are mostly thugs and villains. I never thought in my life I’d get to come to a count’s manor one day—it’s really eye-opening.”
“A count isn’t really that impressive.”
Via didn’t really care.
After all, in her previous life, she was the Demon King—a count really didn’t amount to much in front of her.
But to Goren’s ears, it was a huge shock.
A count isn’t anything?
You know, if Count Favi got angry, the entire Doff City would shake—who wouldn’t be afraid?
He widened his eyes and swallowed.
“Mr. W, your background… is really something.”
“Boss Goren, the count has prepared to meet with Mr. W alone. If you don’t mind, please wait over here,” the servant reminded. “We’ll arrange everything nicely for you to have a pleasant evening.”
“Alright, Mr. W, I’ll wait here.” Goren followed the servant and left.
The servant told Via to go to a certain room on the third floor.
Following the servant’s directions, she went all the way up and arrived at a room.
Just as she raised her hand, preparing to knock, a magnetic voice came from inside.
“Is that Mr. W? Come right in.”
“Excuse me.”
Via pushed open the door and entered an antique-style study.
The room was filled with calming incense. Under the soft lighting, a middle-aged man holding a pipe was sitting on the sofa.
The man had a handsome appearance, dressed quite meticulously, with a small mustache that was quite popular among nobles. He gazed at Via, seeming to have waited for some time.
This was Ole Favi, the current head of the Favi family. From his features, he was indeed very similar to Lucy—they were definitely biological father and daughter.
Behind Ole stood a personal bodyguard in casual clothes, wearing a weapon. Judging from the aura, at least Gold-rank strength.
“Good evening, Count Favi.” Via greeted with a calm voice.
“Mr. W, you’re really not quite what I imagined—you’re not tall, but your attitude is arrogant,” Ole laughed. “Seeing me, and you don’t even bow?”
“Count Favi, I’m here to discuss business with you. We’re equals in this—there’s no need for anyone to bow to anyone.”
“Insolent! How dare you be so rude to the count?!”
Ole’s personal bodyguard got angry and was about to draw his sword.
“Interesting. In the Saint Luo Empire, there aren’t many people who dare speak to me like that.”
Ole burst into laughter and stopped his bodyguard’s action.
He wasn’t angry; instead, he became curious.
Could the man in front of him produce what he wanted?
“Mr. W, I’m a bit puzzled—what gives you the confidence to speak like that?”
“I have what you want.”
“Is that so? Many people want to do business with me, but they’re not qualified.”
Ole set down his pipe.
“Sit.”
“Mm.”
Via sat across from Ole.
She could sense that the count in front of her wasn’t some benevolent type—the way he looked at her carried a dangerous implication.
“This—you made it, right?”
Ole took out a mana bomb and placed it on the table.
He had developed a strong interest in this item. With only a Bronze-rank usage threshold, it could unleash Silver-rank power—this level far exceeded the mana bombs sold on the market in the empire.
“This is what I made. I entrusted Boss Goren to sell them in Doff City’s black market.”
“Can you prove it?”
“Here.”
Via took out a mana bomb and placed it on the table.
In this period, she had improved it again, elevating the mana bomb’s power once more.
“This is the improved version—the power has been raised to where one can kill a Silver-rank and injure a Gold-rank.”
“It’s actually that powerful?”
Ole’s eyes lit up, his tone becoming excited.
Clearly, this mana bomb had exceeded his expectations.
“Mr. W, you really have skills. How did you do it?”
“I’m sorry, this is personal patent—can’t disclose it. You just need to know that besides me, no one else can make it.”
Via noticed Ole reaching out, wanting to touch the mana bomb, and immediately pulled it back.
“Count Favi, now—can we discuss this deal?”
