“I’m back, I’m back.”
Su Yun stretched lazily, her bones emitting a series of crisp *click* sounds, like a bowstring that had been tense for a long time suddenly relaxing.
In a place where no one was looking, her pure white fur receded at a speed visible to the naked eye, revealing the pink-blue fluffy fur underneath. The sharp killing intent remaining in the corners of her eyes vanished instantly without a trace, replaced by her usual submissive and soft cuteness.
Even the aura around her body underwent an extreme shift.
One second, she was a decisive, thunder-wrapped ruthless character; the next, she had transformed into a harmless, soft little fox girl. Even her breathing became gentle.
In the training world just now, her every punch carried thunder and every move was fatal. Her ruthless display of tearing apart red-named mages and blowing through a werewolf’s chest with lightning seemed like a fleeting hallucination.
She raised a hand to pat the bulging pink safety bag at her waist. It was filled with soul beads, staves, potions, and various magical items. The weight pulled slightly at her side, and the items made a faint *clink* sound when they collided, making her look like a little squirrel hiding a bag of treasures.
This bag would temporarily exist for two hours after leaving the Forest. It would disappear on its own once the time was up or after the items were taken out. If the items inside weren’t removed beforehand, they would vanish along with it.
She had originally wanted to go back in for another sweep to try and collect a legendary soul bead to truly satisfy herself, but she sensed that Mo Qingqing’s class was about to end.
She suppressed the urge to fight again.
Compared to earning more credits or getting a few more pieces of equipment, picking up Mo Qingqing from school on time and maxing out her favorability was the top priority. She couldn’t be penny-wise and pound-foolish.
Su Yun found a secluded bush and gathered a weak bit of wind magic at her fingertips, cautiously sorting the spoils into three clean burlap sacks.
She put the high-quality soul beads glowing with green light and the blood-veined staves in one bag. The polished mana potions and life potions went into another. The remaining junk, pelts, and recyclables were stuffed into the last bag.
She specifically kept a deep-green glowing **[High-Quality Soul Bead: Power of Consumption]** in her palm, her fingertips repeatedly stroking the cold, delicate patterns on the bead. This was the most presentable harvest of the day.
‘Mo Qingqing has extremely high standards,’ she thought. These green and white soul beads likely wouldn’t even catch her eye, but the right attitude was still necessary.
‘She might not want it, but I can’t not offer it.’
This was the ultimate survival way she had summarized from struggling through two lifetimes; she couldn’t afford to be sloppy. After all, one doesn’t hit a smiling face; being well-behaved and sensible always led to less suffering.
Once everything was organized, Su Yun carried the three bulging burlap sacks and ran toward the door of Mo Qingqing’s classroom with small steps. The bags were taller than half her body, so she had to struggle to tuck one under her arm while the other two were draped over her shoulders. Her large, pink-blue tail pressed tightly behind her, occasionally brushing against the ground and kicking up fine dust.
Her furry ears were submissively pressed against the top of her head, and her long eyelashes drooped, hiding the sharp light in her eyes. Only clear, translucent innocence remained, making her look exactly like a small pet waiting for her owner to get out of school.
Her short legs moved quickly, and her cheeks were flushed with a faint red tint from the effort. Tiny beads of sweat formed on the tip of her nose, and even her breathing was a bit hurried, yet she still carefully guarded the bags, fearing the contents might fall out.
The passing middle-tier mages occasionally cast curious glances, watching this porcelain-like fox girl carry three large bags that were extremely disproportionate to her size. They watched her stumble through the hallway with eyes full of confusion. After all, according to Su Yun’s age, she should be running wild all over the school right now. It was rare to see someone so well-behaved waiting for their guardian.
Su Yun didn’t care at all. She found a corner of the hallway to stand in and waited obediently.
Sunlight spilled over her through the stained-glass windows of the corridor. Her pink-blue fur gave off a soft luster, and even her downy fur was dyed a warm orange.
The ruthless character who had just stirred up a bloodbath in the training world and caused the deaths of eleven middle-tier mages was now as quiet as an elementary school student waiting for a parent. Her hands were placed properly in front of her, and even her breathing was kept light, for fear of disturbing the people inside who hadn’t come out yet. Occasionally, she would stand on her tiptoes to peek into the classroom to confirm that Mo Qingqing was still there.
Finally, familiar footsteps rang out. The crisp sound echoed in the corridor.
The classroom door was pushed open, and Mo Qingqing stepped out with a cold aura. Her deep purple hair swayed gently behind her, and the hem of her black robe swept across the floor. Her gaze remained indifferent, though there was a hint of post-class lethargy between her brows. She held several thick ancient magic books between her fingers.
Su Yun’s eyes immediately lit up like a small lantern. She instantly forgot the heavy burden on her body and hurried forward to meet her.
She struggled to hold the burlap sacks out, her body leaning forward slightly because the bags were too heavy. Her voice was soft and sweet like honey-soaked berries. “Master, I’m back! This is what I harvested from my training today. Take a look~”
She freed one hand and opened her palm. The deep green soul bead gave off a soft luster under the sun, the flowing patterns complementing her current soft and cute appearance.
“It’s just that the Dominator said we were being too chaotic, so the trial was started early. Now, as long as you don’t leave through the main gate, you’ll enter the Forest…”
She explained everything to Mo Qingqing. However, she didn’t mention her killing spree. She only said she had found some things and wasn’t sure if they were good or not. Her half-true, somewhat vague rhetoric didn’t make Mo Qingqing feel like anything was wrong.
No one would have expected that this obedient, harmless fox girl — who even struggled to carry bags — had just slaughtered eleven middle-tier mages alone in the training world. Among them were two Level 49 peak middle-tier mages, and even the ferocious werewolves had died under her fists. The entire Forest battlefield had been turned into a field of corpses and lightning.
Mo Qingqing glanced down at the bulging bags and then at the soul bead in Su Yun’s palm. Her brow arched slightly, her tone flat and emotionless.
“Keep it for yourself. I have no use for it. You’d better not use this kind of trash recklessly, either.”
Her gaze lingered for a moment on Su Yun’s flushed cheeks and slightly trembling arms, and a trace of imperceptible amusement flashed in her eyes.
Su Yun wasn’t discouraged. She obediently put the soul bead back into her pocket, moved the burlap sacks behind her, and gently rubbed her head against Mo Qingqing’s wrist. The furry sensation carried a warm temperature, like a small brush lightly sweeping across the skin.
Her voice became even softer. “Thank you, Master!!”
She looked up, her eyes sparkling and full of pleasing smiles, two small dimples appearing at the corners of her mouth. She was the extreme opposite of the figure with cold eyes and thunder-wrapped fists from the training world.
Mo Qingqing felt satisfied looking at her obedient and charming appearance. As expected, playing with this little thing after class made her feel much more comfortable.
