“This is a good plan!”
The man surnamed Ganade was muscular and clearly a warrior by training.
His family commanded numerous mercenaries and secretly supported an underground gang.
Since Hena arrived, the thunderous crackdown had crippled Viscount Ganade in many ways.
He was obviously the one most displeased with Hena.
Cutting off one’s financial resources meant a mortal enemy!
His face was fierce and terrifying.
After glancing around at everyone, he said,
“I heard that Hena is very concerned about a woman named Phil, who happens to have a daughter. Previously, Yelena fought with her and revealed astonishing talent. Isn’t that right, Viscount Cost?”
“…”
Cost silently nodded.
The black-haired youth behind him frowned slightly, clearly disapproving of such a method, but he showed no outward sign of it.
Viscount Ganade smiled and continued,
“Yelena publicly accused that girl of being illegitimate, and many heard it.
At first, few believed the rumors we spread ourselves, but now that Yelena, a member of the Asades Family, has spoken personally, we only need to push things behind the scenes to package that girl as having Asades blood…”
“Yes, yes, this method is ingenious!”
That elder Viscount Pryke nodded and began angrily listing Hena’s crimes.
In his eyes, Hena was a usurper of the lord’s position, a destroyer of the sacred noble order, and a bloodthirsty betrayer of kinship.
The few of them discussed tactics.
First, the Mist Church would openly engage Hena’s main forces.
Then, several viscounts’ mercenaries would storm the lord’s castle, publicly accuse Hena of her crimes, and then kill her, elevating a puppet to lord.
Watching the entire time, Enya smiled coldly.
“Quite the idea, huh? Heh.”
After weighing their interests, the four finally decided to set the day of action on the night four days later.
Then Enya witnessed an exciting pre-battle division of spoils.
“Wait, you’re popping champagne before halftime?”
Enya looked surprised.
She was skeptical of these people’s abilities.
Checking the dream world’s omnipresent surveillance, she investigated what preparations they had made.
What she discovered was that these guys each harbored resentment early on.
They were unwilling to be under Hena, a single woman, but none had dared lead before.
That was why things had remained peaceful.
Until the arrival of that white-robed man, who brought the matter up.
Thus, they slid down the slope of rebellion, beginning their conspiracy.
Viscount Ganade also had deeper ties with the white robe—turns out they had long plotted together, while the other two viscounts were vultures attracted by the scent.
Enya saw Ganade make a deal with the white robe.
In another secret chamber, Viscount Ganade spoke to the white-robed figure.
“When the time comes, you help me secure the Asades bloodline. Whatever you’re searching for beneath Redwood City, just find it—I don’t care.”
“Haha, thank you, Lord Ganade. On behalf of the High Priest, I extend my respects.”
White mist poured from the man’s mouth, nose, eyes, and ears.
The mist morphed into a spirit form and departed, leaving the body behind to slump dumbfounded.
Ganade snorted coldly, ordering someone to drag the man out and feed him to the dogs.
Enya waved her hand and returned to her study.
“Hmph, I thought it would be something more interesting.”
She sneered disdainfully.
These people had set their sights on Rosily—truly the unluckiest decision.
The legendary magic item “Lie” had, to some extent, affected their perception.
It caused them to unconsciously overlook the potential danger Ms. Phil posed, mistakenly thinking she and Rosily were a mother-daughter pair they could manipulate at will.
Enya actually had the power to strike them down now but suppressed the rising fury inside.
It wasn’t that she was letting them off—she just found beating up children uninteresting.
Better to toy with them!
“What if, just when you think everything is accomplished, you suddenly find yourself back at the starting point?”
“Like working hard all day, ready to collect your wages, but suddenly waking up from a dream, realizing it was all just a dream…”
“Heh heh heh~ what expressions would you wear then?”
A wicked smile curled at Enya’s lips as she half-covered her mouth.
Let them taste what it means to have a dream vanish into nothing~
Putting away her mischievous expression, Enya pondered the white robe’s purpose.
They were believers of the Mist Lord faith from White Stone City.
Everything was instigated by him behind the scenes, all for something beneath Redwood City.
What was beneath Redwood City?
Could it be the Old Era City Ruins related to the Night Goddess faith?
“What are they looking for in the Night Goddess’s ruins?”
Enya didn’t know the exact strength of the Mist Lord believers, but from their cautious probes, she was fairly certain their power was at best comparable to the Blood God Cult.
“If the Mist Lord faith truly only wields power on par with the Blood God Cult, then it’s very likely the Society is behind it all.”
“This is also their test of me—the fake Rose Priestess. If I can’t hold my ground, Redwood City becomes theirs.”
“If I do hold, they will elevate me, the Rose Priestess I play, to a guest of honor. Heh, trying to win both ways, huh?”
Enya wondered if Antiros had long known she was here.
From the start, she might have planned for her to infiltrate the so-called “Society.”
It was possible.
Though Antiros wouldn’t harm her, she liked to toy with Enya, sending her on all sorts of missions.
Then forcing her to carry them out…
Not to mention, without Antiros, Enya wouldn’t have been able to go to so many places or meet various beings—the Elf Saintess, the Demon Queen, and so on.
Enya pressed the second joint of her right index finger to her lips and thought, “I need to disguise myself and meet Hena, let her prepare in advance.”
She drifted into thought over the specific plan.
Originally, she planned to visit Estelle tonight, but for now, she would leave her eldest daughter aside.
She intended to concentrate all her primal mana over the next few days to reach the Double Fourth-tier realm.
She stepped out of her study, transforming into Phil, who was waiting at the door.
A pair of golden-red dragon eyes met a pair of watery blue eyes.
Phil said nothing but embraced Enya before transforming into a group of beautiful, colorful-winged moths and merging into Enya’s body.
With a thought, Enya shifted from the Dragon Princess form into the human female Phil and then returned to the living room.
Phil told Rosily to play in the yard first.
The girl was now crouched in the vegetable patch, staring at the tender, crisp sprouts in the small soil hole, gently touching them with her little hand.
At the same time, she whispered to the sprouts,
“Mother carries the scent of another girl… what should I do…”
