The moment Lin Xue’er saw Li Siqi appear before her, the joyful mood she had just built up with Xia Meng instantly vanished.
If she could, she honestly wanted to drag this person off to the village world for punishment right now.
But after all, this was the Main Gate of the university, with so many people around.
So, Lin Xue’er put on a frosty expression and looked at Li Siqi, speaking in a most impatient tone: “Classmate, how much longer are you planning to stand here?”
Most people, when they encounter such clear hostility, know to step back, or at least leave the scene quietly.
But Li Siqi had a unique personality.
Instead of leaving, she became even more entangled.
“I’m not interested in your bed, but I do have something to ask! Since I ran into you here, could you tell me where Xiao Tai’s family is? I’ve called her, but she hasn’t come this week because she’s sick. I wanted to visit her and check in.”
At this moment, Lin Xue’er felt deeply repulsed by the extreme self-centeredness Li Siqi once again displayed.
She truly disliked how the person before her was always polite on the surface but completely lacking in warmth.
What annoyed her even more was that Li Siqi was like some kind of stubborn pest, always trying to get close to her.
“I’ll give you a word of advice: if you keep coveting things that aren’t yours, everything you have will turn to ashes.”
Li Siqi was certainly stubborn and headstrong, but that didn’t mean she couldn’t understand words.
So, when Lin Xue’er gave her that warning, she simply frowned, snorted in reply, and turned away.
“You can’t get what you want, so you assume I can’t get it either? Just because you’re not normal? Ha! You make it sound like I’m obsessed with you.”
From the very first encounter, Li Siqi could see that Lin Xue’er was someone with a flawed personality.
She hadn’t cared then, as her attention had been entirely on Xia Meng.
But after several encounters, she’d more or less come to understand Lin Xue’er’s character.
Judging from her own experience, she believed Lin Xue’er was absolutely the wrong kind of person to be around Meng Ye.
No matter what, she was going to have a good talk with Xia Meng and keep her away from this person in front of her.
“If you’re not afraid, just try it.”
“Hah, if you’ve got the guts, come at me! I’ve never been afraid!”
Saying this, Li Siqi rolled up her sleeves, ready for a fight.
At the sight, Lin Xue’er couldn’t help but let out a cold laugh.
“There’s no point in saying so much to someone as clueless as you. It’s like playing music to a cow.”
“Huh? Are you scared of me? Tsk, tsk, honestly, I thought you might have something to show for yourself.”
Seeing Li Siqi’s provocative posture, Lin Xue’er merely glanced at her and then used the handle of her suitcase to push the Suitcase along the path.
“Xiao Tai went home to recuperate from her illness. That’s allโ”
Watching Lin Xue’er’s departing back, Li Siqi paused for a moment, then turned and headed toward the School Campus Main Gate.
But as she reached the corner, she quickly darted onto the Main Road, circled around a building, and from an angle not visible from the Main Road, secretly observed the girl pushing the Suitcase along.
“You never said anything before, but now you suddenly bring it up. Hmph, do you think I’ll believe that?”
Li Siqi’s lips curled in a subtle arc, her face now completely relaxed, none of the tense attitude she had when facing Lin Xue’er earlier.
As for why she didn’t believe Lin Xue’er’s words and even made a point to follow behind her, it was entirely because she was suspicious of Lin Xue’er’s current actions.
Coming to study on weekends wasn’t a rare thing.
Some people did it out of a love for learning, seeking out the campus atmosphere and quiet places to study.
Others came because the campus was a good spot for leisure or hanging out.
Li Siqi belonged to the latter group.
After all, she had come to the School Campus this morning just to enjoy the scenery.
But the Lin Xue’er she saw, busy with her weekend study, didn’t fit into either of those categories.
According to what she knew, both Lin Xue’er and Xia Meng were day students, not boarders.
So she couldn’t help feeling suspicious.
If Lin Xue’er was moving into the Dormitory now, did that mean Xia Meng, as her childhood friend, was also moving in?
If so, then she should find a way to request a spot in the Dormitory as well.
“Tskโฆ if that’s really the case, I’d better hurry home and discuss it with the Family.”
Watching Lin Xue’er push her Suitcase into the Dormitory, Li Siqi’s face showed an expression of confirmation.
She immediately took out her phone, walking in the direction away from the School Campus, while contacting her parents.
“Hello, Mom, it’s me. I want to discuss something with youโฆ I’m thinking about moving into the Dormitory.”
On the other end of the call, Li Siqi’s Mother was silent for a moment, then responded emotionally.
“You don’t agree? Why, Mom? It’s just the Dormitoryโฆ”
Li Siqi’s face darkened, apparently unhappy because her mother didn’t agree to her moving into the Dormitory.
“Mom, calm down. I’m not being unreasonable, and it’s not like I want to stay at school all the timeโ”
Her mother on the other end sounded very firm.
Li Siqi hesitated for a moment, bit her lip, and finally spoke again.
“Mom, I know you were against me applying to this school, butโฆ don’t you know about Sisterโ”
Before she could finish, her mother scolded her loudly on the other end of the phone.
Seeing this, Li Siqi’s face showed a trace of inner conflict, but her eyes soon became determined.
So, she pressed her lips together and said into the phone,
“I don’t care! I’m moving into the Dormitory anyway! Mom, if you don’t agree, then I won’t keep my promise!”
With that, Li Siqi directly hung up the call, then looked back at the school she’d just attended, a bit lost.
“Sorry, Mom, I shouldn’t have yelled at youโฆ But don’t worry, I’ll keep the Agreement.
I only want to move into the Dormitory because I’m a little worried about someone.
That person is very much like Sister, so I hope that when she needs help, I can be there for her.”
On the other side, a few minutes after Li Siqi had left, Lin Xue’er walked out of the Dormitory building, pushing her Suitcase with one hand while looking at her phone Screen with the other.
If one looked closely at Lin Xue’er’s phone, they’d see that the Screen displayed images of the School Campus buildings, and as she scrolled, in one of the images, there was a girl making a phone call while walking.
“Truly a persistent pestโฆ”
Lin Xue’er’s face darkened, and the look she gave the phone Screen was full of intense killing intent.
But she had too much to worry about, so all she could do was silently vent her frustration.
However, as she put her phone away and held the Suitcase handle in her hand, her expression, like the weather, suddenly cleared up.
“Sorry to keep you waiting, Xiao Tai. I got delayed by someone irrelevant, but hang in there a bit longer. I’ll take you to our New Home right now.”
