“It’s that simple.”
As Mu Yingying spoke, she slowly pulled a Smooth Gold Coin from the pocket of her denim shorts.
She was very tall, standing at 190cm, and her presence was overwhelming just standing there.
Although the scars on her face were terrifying, she lacked any hostile intent or suffocating malice. Instead, she possessed a lazy kind of affinity—the relaxed aura unique to a large-sized Auntie.
Her slender fingertips pinched the gold coin. Under the red moon, it shimmered with a cold, metallic glint.
Strangely, the gold coin was completely smooth.
There were no words or patterns on either side, and there wasn’t even a single scratch or sign of wear. It was unnaturally clean, like a piece of pure gold that had just been sliced off.
Ding—
She lightly flicked the coin with her thumb. The crisp sound echoed through the quiet Villa, sounding particularly ethereal.
“So, have you made up your mind? Take a gamble with me.”
Mu Yingying looked up at Su Shuang’er, who was standing at the corner of the stairs.
Her tone was casual, as if she just wanted to play a little game and didn’t care at all about the doomsday Weirdness outside.
“You won’t lose anything either way. After the bet, regardless of whether you win or lose, I’ll tell you the truth about why this Villa is about to fall. Or, if you don’t want to bet and just want to chat…”
Her gaze drifted meaningfully toward the Rusty Bicycle next to Su Shuang’er. A playful smirk curled the corner of her lips. “We could talk about this bicycle of yours. It looks ordinary, but it always feels a bit… off.”
The moment the last sentence left her mouth, Su Shuang’er’s hand clamped down on the handlebars, her knuckles turning white.
She knew that White Night’s secret must never be exposed.
Just then, White Night’s voice appeared directly in her mind, calm and reassuring:
[Auntie Frost, don’t panic. This woman looks a bit off, but there’s no killing intent for now. Don’t show weakness; in the Apocalypse, whoever flinches first becomes the prey. I’m with you.]
Hearing White Night’s voice made Su Shuang’er feel a bit more grounded, and her tense shoulders relaxed slightly.
It was true—she was no longer that frail female CEO. She was a survivor who possessed Brute Force Miracle and the RV System.
Su Shuang’er took a breath, suppressed her internal alarm, and looked directly into Mu Yingying’s sharp eyes. She nodded.
“Fine, I’ll bet with you. What do you want to bet?”
She needed information desperately. This world was crawling with Weirdness, and she knew almost nothing.
The woman before her clearly possessed a wealth of intelligence. For herself and for White Night, it was a risk worth taking.
Seeing Su Shuang’er nod, Mu Yingying smiled with satisfaction. It was the smile of a hunter seeing their prey walk into a trap, yet there was no malice in her eyes.
“That’s more like it. A smart person never passes up a chance to survive.”
Mu Yingying toyed with the Smooth Gold Coin, letting it dance nimbly between her long fingers. She said nonchalantly, “The rules are simple—favorable to you, even.”
“I’ll flip this coin. If it lands and shows words or flowers, I win.”
“If it lands and it’s still like this—smooth on both sides with nothing on them—you win.”
Su Shuang’er was stunned, her brows furrowing deeply. What kind of rule was that?
She stared at the gold coin in Mu Yingying’s hand several times. It was clearly a smooth piece of metal on both sides. Unless this woman could perform magic or the coin was some high-tech display screen, how could words and flowers possibly appear out of thin air?
This was a guaranteed loss—for Mu Yingying.
“Are you playing with me?” Su Shuang’er asked. “Both sides are clearly smooth.”
“Maybe, who knows? Anything strange can happen in the Apocalypse.” Mu Yingying shrugged with an air of indifference. “Well? Are you too afraid to take a deal that’s basically a guaranteed win?”
“Fine, let’s start.” Su Shuang’er nodded, though she remained vigilant, her eyes fixed on Mu Yingying to prevent any foul play.
“Straightforward. I like it.”
Mu Yingying stopped talking and flicked her thumb.
Ding!
The gold coin turned into a streak of golden light as it shot into the air, emitting a pleasant hum. It tumbled and spun in mid-air, refracting the red moonlight from outside the window, making it a dizzying sight.
Su Shuang’er had intended to keep her eyes on Mu Yingying, but her attention was drawn away by the coin. Even White Night focused all of his perception on that small piece of metal.
‘Would flowers actually appear?’
Pa.
The coin fell. Mu Yingying didn’t let it hit the ground. She reached out with her large, fair hand, caught it steadily in mid-air, and then spread her palm open in front of Su Shuang’er.
From beginning to end, her movements were clean and efficient, without any hint of cheating.
Su Shuang’er immediately leaned in to look. Lying in that broad palm was the same gold coin. The side facing up was smooth, reflecting Su Shuang’er’s slightly nervous face. There were no words, and there were no flowers.
Mu Yingying flipped it over to check the back; it was equally smooth. The air remained quiet for a few seconds.
“Oh my, what a pity.”
Mu Yingying let out a completely insincere sigh and tucked the coin away. “Looks like I lost.”
Su Shuang’er: “…”
What on earth did this woman want? Had she come all this way just to mess with her?
“I lost the bet, so I’ll pay up.” Mu Yingying leaned against the staircase railing and crossed her arms, highlighting a terrifyingly impressive curve. “As agreed, I’ll give you the intel. But before that, as a show of sincerity, we have to follow the procedure.”
“What procedure?” Su Shuang’er asked warily.
“The Truth-telling Segment.” Mu Yingying pointed at herself. “The loser must answer one question from the winner and… they cannot lie.”
“Actually, I didn’t plan on lying anyway. In fact, I have this urge to tell the truth that I can’t quite shake.” Mu Yingying muttered a strange sentence to herself before looking at Su Shuang’er. “Go ahead and ask first. What do you want to know? About the Weirdness? Or about me?”
Though Su Shuang’er felt the procedure was bizarre, since the other party was offering, she wasn’t going to be polite.
“Fine. First question.”
Su Shuang’er stared into her eyes and asked the most critical question. “You said this Villa would fall tonight. Is that true? You lost, and this is the Truth-telling Segment, so you can’t lie to me.”
“Of course it’s true.”
Mu Yingying answered instantly. She didn’t even think; the words simply blurted out.
“Actually, I’ve taken a liking to you and want to team up.”
Before Mu Yingying could finish, her gaze swept over Su Shuang’er’s figure.
“As for why I want to team up with you…”
Her sharp eyes scanned Su Shuang’er up and down, finally stopping on Su Shuang’er’s rear, which was tightly hugged by her dress. “First, I’ve acknowledged your strength. That monster strength that let you throw a barbell like a cannonball… you’ve got real power.”
“Strength is the most important thing, but second, your body and looks are obviously top-tier.”
Mu Yingying flashed a sweet smile, though the scars on her face made it look a bit daunting. “I’ve got my eye on your big fat butt.”
“???”
Su Shuang’er froze entirely, her face turning an explosive shade of red.
“You… what did you say?!”
“I said, your butt is very fat.”
Mu Yingying looked serious, her tone as formal as if she were delivering an academic report. “I’m 190cm tall with a large frame, so it’s normal for me to have a large rear. But you’re barely over 170cm tall, right? To have a hip measurement the same size as someone of my stature is simply a gift from the heavens.”
“Especially just now when you leaned over on the stairs—that curve… tsk, it’s perfect. You look like the type who would be very fertile. I figured that since it’s the Apocalypse and I’ve been single for years, if I really can’t survive much longer, finding a beautiful woman with a great body who catches my eye to live out my days with wouldn’t be a waste. Even if it’s just one last indulgence to research the QQ Space, it would be worth it.”
“You bastard! What kind of nonsense are you talking about!”
Su Shuang’er finally snapped, her face steaming with embarrassment. She retreated several steps while clutching her bicycle until she was backed into a corner.
“What big fat butt! What QQ Space! You… you hooligan!”
She never imagined that this woman, who seemed cold, mysterious, and powerful, would be a degenerate who spoke such nonsense! Moreover, she was the type of pervert who said exactly what was on her mind without any filter!
Even White Night was reeling in her head: [What the hell… Auntie Frost, this woman is insane! This isn’t just a Truth-telling Segment; she’s dumping every bit of mental filth she has! QQ Space? Is that what I think it means?!]
Mu Yingying looked at Su Shuang’er, who looked like she was about to die of shame, and spread her hands helplessly with a bitter smile. “See? I told you this was a Truth-telling Segment.”
“Actually, it’s related to my Awakened class. Whenever I lose a bet, I am forced to speak the absolute truth for the next 5 minutes. Whatever I’m thinking comes right out of my mouth. I can’t control it at all.”
“I’m also quite despondent about it. I originally just wanted to compliment your figure, but my mouth slipped and the truth just came out.”
Su Shuang’er: “…”
What kind of cursed Awakening ability was that?!
“So…” Mu Yingying took a step forward, her tall frame bringing a sense of pressure despite her innocent expression. “Big fat butt… oh, no, Miss Su Shuang’er, since I’ve been so sincere, would you consider teaming up? I might have a bit of a big mouth, but I’m a very good fighter. And…”
She pointed toward the night sky outside, which was beginning to grow restless.
“Those things have already arrived. If you don’t want to die, you’d better bring me along as your guide.”
