Two Lazy Sofas—one already claimed by Sang Tian. The other, no matter how you looked at it, could only fit a single person. Thankfully, the hotel’s single bed was large enough.
It could fit about three full-grown, burly men without being especially cramped.
But only just—not especially cramped.
It was inevitable that, while sleeping, bodies would brush against each other.
Song Qiuyu was well aware she didn’t have to make any choices at all.
“I really, really want to sleep on the sofa!”
Xie Zhuran voiced the same sentiment.
“Looks like we’ll have to fight for the sofa. Whoever loses sleeps on the bed!”
A fiery determination burned in Lin An’s eyes.
Song Qiuyu agreed.
Even Jiang Xiao, for once, was taking things seriously.
“In that case, let’s draw lots.”
Xie Zhuran picked up a Poker Card.
Just seeing the Poker Card, Song Qiuyu nearly had a PTSD attack.
“Forget the Poker Cards. Let’s use our phones to draw lots instead.”
Song Qiuyu suggested.
A Saint Seiya never falls for the same trick twice. With a Mobile Phone Dice Roll, surely there’d be no way to cheat, right?
Upon hearing this, Sang Tian’s face instantly fell.
If possible, she’d hoped that, come morning, she’d find Song Qiuyu curled up in Jiang Xiao’s arms.
But with a Mobile Phone Dice Roll, there was no room for manipulation.
“That works.”
The contestants all accepted the challenge.
“What are the rules?”
Xie Zhuran was raring to go.
“Simple: we each roll, highest number gets the sofa, the rest sleep on the bed. If there’s a tie for highest, we roll again until there’s a winner. As for the bed, whoever has the higher number picks their spot first.”
Song Qiuyu explained the rules, then tapped to send out a Dice roll.
As soon as she finished speaking, the Dice stopped spinning—one dot.
“Alright, Song Qiuyu’s out. One less competitor.”
Xie Zhuran laughed aloud.
Song Qiuyu was silent for a moment. “That was just a demonstration. Doesn’t count.”
“How can it not count?”
Xie Zhuran’s eyes widened.
“Of course it doesn’t. I was still explaining—no one even said ‘start’ yet.”
Song Qiuyu retorted stubbornly.
“Fine, you get away with it this time.”
Xie Zhuran waved dismissively, full of confidence. “Anyway, with the way you’re rolling tonight, there’s no way you can beat me, the European Emperor, the White among Whites.”
Song Qiuyu merely gave a cold laugh and said nothing.
And so—
The Dice battle began.
First up was Jiang Xiao.
First to be eliminated was, most likely, also Jiang Xiao.
One dot.
Pure African Bloodline, African among Africans.
There was only one theoretical chance for a rematch—
That was if all three—Song Qiuyu and the other two—rolled one as well.
But the odds were abysmal.
A rough calculation: one sixth, times one sixth, times one sixth.
One in 216.
Practically hopeless.
Jiang Xiao rubbed his forehead and resigned himself to stepping aside.
Clearly, like many men, he wasn’t keen on sharing a bed with another guy.
Sang Tian’s eyes sparkled.
The first step of her wish had come true: at least Jiang Xiao would be on the bed.
“Then, as the European Emperor, I’ll go second!”
Xie Zhuran took a deep breath and tapped the Dice on his screen. “Go! Let fate be reversed!”
The Dice spun on the screen, then settled.
Six dots, facing up.
“This is the power of me, the European Emperor!”
Xie Zhuran flashed a roguish, wild smile, his eyes brimming with pride, confidence, and a lonely, invincible air atop the world.
Invincibility is a lonely thing.
Sang Tian’s eyes shone even brighter. Song Qiuyu’s odds of ending up on the bed were now nearly fifty-fifty.
“My turn, then.”
Lin An rolled the Dice.
Two dots.
Lin An fell silent.
Pathetic.
Sang Tian blinked and looked at Song Qiuyu, her face full of anticipation.
“My turn?”
It had to be said, six dots was seriously intimidating…
That guy’s European Emperor bloodline was way too strong!
She only had a one in six chance of earning a rematch.
But she had her own reasons—she had to win!
“Bring it on!”
Song Qiuyu tapped the Dice. Under Sang Tian’s hopeful gaze, the gods answered her prayers.
Six dots!
It happened!
The only chance for a comeback.
Seeing the number on the screen, Xie Zhuran was dumbfounded. Sang Tian was stunned too.
Seriously?
“All right, let’s go again!”
Song Qiuyu brimmed with confidence.
“Hmph, just lucky. How dare you challenge me, the European Emperor?! An ant shaking a tree! Six, come to me!”
Xie Zhuran spouted his chuunibyou lines as he tapped the Dice.
Two dots.
Xie Zhuran stared at the number in disbelief.
“How could this be?!”
“Looks like I’m the winner.”
Song Qiuyu cackled, patted Xie Zhuran’s shoulder, and tapped the Dice.
The Dice spun, leaped, and finally landed on—
One dot.
Song Qiuyu fell silent.
Her smile had vanished—no one knew when.
No, it hadn’t vanished. It had simply moved.
Moved to Xie Zhuran and Sang Tian’s faces.
“Cack cack cack, I told you, you could never defeat me, the European Emperor!”
And so, the results were in. Xie Zhuran stretched out comfortably on the Lazy Sofa.
The tides had turned.
Song Qiuyu looked helplessly at the big bed.
In a sense, she, Song Qiuyu, was about to share a bed with men…
Since things had come to this, Song Qiuyu decisively claimed the left side of the bed.
Not only did that side offer more freedom and just one side exposed to danger, but the other side faced the bathroom wall—where, in tonight’s Script Murder, a ghost had come out of the wall.
It made her uneasy.
As for Jiang Xiao, he took the middle spot.
The spot with the least freedom.
Those at the bottom have no right to choose.
This arrangement made Sang Tian extremely happy.
This was exactly what she wanted to see!
Song Qiuyu and Jiang Xiao, sharing a bed!
Of course, they’d both try to avoid touching each other tonight.
Not much to see there.
She could only look forward to the morning!
There were extra blankets and quilts in the wardrobe, and with the power back on, the room was warm again. Even on the Lazy Sofa, no one would freeze.
“Good night, everyone.”
After finishing the last of her hot milk tea, Song Qiuyu turned off the lights and quickly ran to the bed, kicking off her slippers.
She sat on the edge, her fair bare feet and long, slender legs gently placed on the mattress.
Then, sticking as close to the edge as possible, she curled up on the soft bed. Whether in the past or now, she never liked sharing a bed with men.
But there was no other choice.
The others all got into bed as well.
Time slowly passed.
As Song Qiuyu drifted into sleep, a sudden urge to pee woke her. She didn’t really want to get up, and subconsciously tried to hold it in.
“Mm…”
She twisted on the bed, mumbled in her sleep, and rolled over. In doing so, her feet accidentally kicked the calf of the person beside her. That person, apparently annoyed, didn’t wake up—just shifted position and turned over.
Then, a large hand landed on Song Qiuyu’s waist. The hem of her red T-shirt rode up, exposing a small stretch of snowy skin.
Song Qiuyu’s body tensed. A cool, tickling sensation crept up her left waist, slowly sliding upward, unbearably cold against her warm skin. It felt like something was slipping under her shirt…
Jiang Xiao is living his dream rn and he doesn’t even know it
