Camilla watched as Miss Elena walked gracefully toward her, feeling a tingling sensation on her scalp.
Why is this young lady here? And why did she have to show up right after Camilla finished a fight, when the place was a total mess!
“Haha, what a coincidence, Miss Elena, we meet again…”
Camilla tried hard to keep her voice calm, but the slight twitch at the corner of her mouth betrayed the storm inside.
“It’s Big Sis! We’re saved!”
Barton, struggling to his feet, reached out a hand to Miss Elena. But Elena didn’t even spare him a glance, elegantly strolling over to Camilla, her high heels tapping crisp “click clack” sounds on the floor.
“Yes, I didn’t expect we’d meet again so soon either.”
She smiled, pulling Camilla into her ample embrace, her restless hand settling on the girl’s plump bottom.
“How’s the novel coming along?”
Warm breath brushed her ear, carrying a faint, elusive scent of Tilan Orchid.
Camilla shivered, her baby-fat cheeks instantly flushing red like a ripe apple, making people want to take a bite.
But don’t misunderstand—Camilla wasn’t blushing out of shyness, but because she was so mad her face heated up.
Damn it, we’ve only been apart for a day, and you’re already chasing me for an update?
Even if I were the village donkey, I couldn’t work this fast!
“Haha, still working on the draft, still working on it.”
“Not enough, that’s not enough. Miss ‘Rice Gobbler,’ you wouldn’t want your identity as a novelist to become public knowledge, right? With my abilities, silencing all these onlookers would be easy. But if I don’t see any updates…”
Miss Elena’s tone lifted ever so slightly, a hint of threat sneaking in.
“Just wait until I throw you into the razor pit!”
With that, Miss Elena gave Camilla’s bottom a wicked squeeze, nearly making her let out a Tom-like shriek from the pain.
At that moment, “offline” for quite a while, Emma finally rushed to the rescue.
“Don’t hurt my friend!”
Seeing Camilla (even if not really because of her) being bullied by a villain, Emma snapped.
She dashed forward, shoved Elena away with all her might, and grabbed Camilla’s hand, bolting off together.
“Where do you think you’re going? Leave her with me!”
Miss Elena never expected her “prey” to be snatched away yet again.
Frowning, she flashed like lightning, instantly blocking Emma’s path.
“Flash Technique!”
“Tsk! You!”
The sudden burst of light nearly blinded Elena, but with her superior strength, she resisted most of the magic’s effect and counterattacked with Lightning Strike.
“Magic Shield!”
Emma poured all her effort into her defensive spell, but the lightning ruthlessly broke through.
Camilla clicked her tongue and leaped forward, using her body to block the aftermath of the attack.
Tingling currents ran through her, almost making Camilla let out an embarrassing sound.
“Stop it, both of you! Don’t fight anymore!”
Camilla shouted loudly, standing between them.
“Emma, she’s my friend, not a bad person. What just happened was normal between us. Please, lower your wand.”
“R-really? I’m so sorry! I misunderstood! I can’t believe I attacked your friend…”
Flustered, Emma tried to bow in apology, but Camilla pressed down firmly on her shoulder.
“It’s fine. She’s crazy anyway—flashing her is totally reasonable.”
After whispering to Emma, Camilla hurried over to Miss Elena’s side.
“Miss Elena, this is my friend. She’s a bit impulsive and misunderstood you by mistake. Please, you’re magnanimous—could you forgive her?”
“Hmph, just this once.”
Miss Elena turned away, pulling out a handkerchief to dab her eyes, feeling rather annoyed that Camilla spoke to Emma first.
“About the novel…”
“I promise I’ll finish it as fast as possible for you. But…please, please don’t reveal my identity as the author!”
Camilla hugged her arms to her chest, begging Miss Elena.
She stood on tiptoe, pouted her lips, and her big, glistening eyes blinked up at her.
So cute!
Miss Elena felt her maiden heart take a direct hit, her head spinning a bit.
She didn’t notice Camilla had already lowered her gaze, revealing a schemer’s satisfied smile.
Though Miss Elena appeared to be a calm, serious young lady, Camilla knew she had no resistance to cute things.
Clearly, Camilla was more than cute enough in her current “mode.”
Striking while the iron was hot, Camilla continued.
“Everyone has their own idea of a good story. Normally, I have to worry about the audience, but this time is different. This ending is written just for you—it’s your own happy end! If you have any requests, please tell me!”
“Hmm, that’s more like it. I…well, whatever. Whatever the Kaijin Chamber of Commerce pays you as a Manuscript Fee, I’ll pay double.”
Miss Elena declared with a flourish.
“Oh, really? I should warn you, my Manuscript Fee is very high!”
Hearing Elena would pay double, Camilla’s face broke into a strange, brilliant smile.
“Of course. As the eldest daughter of the Baldia family, I always keep my word. A little Manuscript Fee is nothing—as long as your novel satisfies me.”
“Haha, you can always trust my writing!”
Camilla patted her chest in reassurance.
“In that case, could you do me a little favor and take care of these guys for me?”
She pointed at the three minor villain lackeys.
The one known as Barton had recovered, glaring at Camilla with hatred.
“What are you looking at? Want me to dig out those eyes for you?”
Miss Elena snapped.
She recognized him—his parents were nobles of her faction.
But since she couldn’t even remember his name, he obviously wasn’t important.
She pulled out a very familiar lightning whip and lashed it straight at Barton.
Crack—!
“Eeeek eeeek eeeek!”
Barton spun like a human top, sparks and lightning flying as he crashed into the wall.
The surrounding crowd exchanged glances.
“Nobody is to speak a word of what happened here. Understand?”
Leaving those words behind, Miss Elena strode away without looking back.
The crowd parted to make way for her, bowing their heads, not daring to watch her go.
Camilla watched Elena vanish from sight, then let out a helpless sigh, feeling even more exhausted than after dealing with the three spoiled brats.
“C-Camilla…”
Emma tugged timidly at her sleeve, worry and gratitude mingling in her eyes.
“Are you alright?”
Big Miss El teachers are so much easier to handle—Young Miss El is just too much trouble.
“I’m fine.”
Camilla rubbed her brow.
“Alright then, let me take you to the Introductory Elemental Theory classroom.”
“Eh, that’s not necessary! You explained the route so clearly earlier.”
Emma waved her hands in a panic.
“Oh, it’s no trouble at all. I’m free anyway, and I can show you around the Academy facilities. That way, you’ll adapt to life here more easily… Besides, there are a few things I need to confirm.”
“Things you need to confirm?”
Emma tilted her head in confusion.
